I killed the dancer at level 17. I accidentally killed the woman then the dancer appeared. I thought i unlocked a secret optional boss. So i tried again and again. It only took me 16hrs straight and a bit of my sanity.
oof the first time I fought the dancer I was level 80, and that shit took me at least 1000 tries before I finally gave up and just summoned a bunch of phantoms lol
GoodKevin111 yeah the demon won't hit the mimic a lot if you get him close to the mimic than wake him up but if you're like me tried to wake the mimic then bring the demon he will so his attacks first and kill him
The demon was easier to kill than the mimic :P you pull it, hide behind the wall upstairs and he will come for you. You hit him and hide behind the wall again and he'll just walk backwards to it's original spawn point. Repeat this a few times and you kill it with 0 problems
Already knew that. you can use items if they can be used with one hand and are not throwable. Estus, Ashen Estus, (Blooming) Green Blossoms, Diving Blessings, Hidden Blessings Etc.
Before seeing this video, I always just did hit and run tactics with the opening that you first use to go in there, since he can't fit through it. I may try the mimic thing though next time.

+TerraMantis Man ! I have an another big theorie ! The angels who came visite Gertrude may be Primordial Serpents ! Don't you have seen these statues that have the same face as Frampt or Kaathe ? And what is making me thinks this is that you can see three statues for the three pillars and the fourth is this statue of primordial serpent, like the fourth pillar, and these statues get angel's wings ! Mind = Blown !
+sybran57 I did notice the statue was a Primordial Serpent, I was really hoping DLC will address them again. You theory is interesting and it might explain the weird mutated "dragons" flying around Lothric Castle and in the Dragonslyer Armor boss encounter. After all, the serpents are just dragons that couldn't quite evolve. Maybe those flying abominations are half-evolved monstrosities floating somewhere between Ancient Dragons and Primordial Serpents.
Well I just think that the Primordial Serpent shows themself as angels to Gertrude, and by doing so this created an "heretic" fourth pillar and it bring conflict to Lothric. Do you remember the place where you first met a big winged knight in Lothric ? Well there is a body of one just down the ladder and he get many Lothric knight's sword and spear impale in him, it show us that there was a conflict between the Pillar of Knight and The Pillar of Angel, seen as a false pillar I guess.
Here is one most of you may not know: when you encounter the rock lizards in archdragon peak. Kick them and they will roll backward. Fun way to kill an annoying enemy

To be honest you shouldnt pay too much attention to the sizes of the bosses because of that. Nobody wants a fight with final lord of cinder who is like 130cm tall clinging to his 180 tall brother when they are easily lost in the midst of combat if you have 2 or more summons

+Wakka Flakka Burn The Al Bhed I actually found havel easier than the drakeblood summon. He's slow and runs out of stamina fast, you can get in a lot of backstabs on him. The drake guy spams way too much and you never know when he's gonna stop.
Update: Ok on another playthrough I had 3 Havels and 2 Ricards summoned out of 10 or so summons. They're a pain given the restricted space you fight in, Ricard particularly in the room before the bell and the bonfire can stuck you in a corner with his wpn art spam >.

I already knew all this stuff because I actually explored, and i knew which ones were mimics and which ones are not because i played ds1, which has the same thing to find out which ones are mimics, and i hit the mimic and ran away because mimics are hard to fight and there was a demon and the mimic killed 'em
@@francisdimaano2350 mimics are a cake walk just slide between those legs and punish that booty. They have a real hard time landing that kick move if you're aggressive and get up on em. they lean waaay back before going for the grab so just roll to the side when you see it. Do that and you'll be rolling in symbols of avarice in no time. Also you could just hit em with a Loyd's talisman it knocks em out.
I could be wrong, but either on Lorians sword or on his armor set, doesn't it say that it was his brother, or at least his brothers curse that made him cripple and mute. And that Lorian, in fact, wished it so. So it may not be because of Gertrude. Unless she had something to do with Prince Lothrics curse

Also his sword states that it became scorched with flame after slaying "THE demon prince". Now I'm wondering who this 'demon prince' was, it has something to do with chaos if the sword is anything to go by.
You do bring up a good point, something I overlooked. I'm hoping they expand upon Gertrude in the DLC. Maybe we'll see something about the Demon Prince? I remember being confused by that when reading the sword description.

+Papa Ton I have a theory that the Old Demon King may have at one time been The Demon Prince, since he's supposedly a demon from days of the bed of chaos, but looks like one of the newer demons, either because A) Whatever it was that reshaped the demons and possibly built the giant autonomous balista also saved him or B) He was the first of the new demons, and mostly recovered from his fight with Lorian with the exception of his eye.
The dragon that the Nameless King is riding has black feathers. In DS1, it said in a description that the God of War looks over his warriors. Over Firelink shrine there is a crow, watching over you.
Nameless king is Gywn's firstborn, he might be the general or leader of all sunlight warriors,as he joined the archdragon side for some unknown reason,gywn renounced him and removed his name and almost every biodata from the annex.this is why we dont know his name. the broken statues of sunlight warrior covenant might be his.(resemblance of bare foot)

That theory could also further be supported by the fact that Prince Lothric is voiced by the same person who voiced Gwyndolin in Dark Souls. It may or may not be a coincidence, but I think it further supports Lothric's relation to the bloodline of Gwyn.
Am I the only one that punches chests before I open them? Lol. Even since earlier souls games I don't want to break the chest so I just use my hand and punch it! If nothing happens you're good, if it does then it's ON!
+iSmokeRockz If you want a bit more free damage on the mimic before he gets up, check the chain. If the chain is curled back, the chest is NOT a mimic. If the chain is straight forward it is a mimic. Mimic chests also breathe very slightly. Charge up that R2 and wail away.
I find it so hard believe how much I've missed out in my playthrough, I've to go back and do it again and there'll be more to it like the first time I did it. Great lore, very like the first game!

This is great! I didn't know that much about the lore for DS3 yet but these secrets are always helpful. I platinumed the game at level 180 and I'm still going, I love this game but can't believe I didn't even realize you could throw that item at mimics, also didn't know that thing about summoning Havel again and the different ways to kill the stray demon. The item description of the Crystal Chime clearly states that what was defiled wasn't Gertrude, but the Chime itself. English is not my first language, but when things are between comas, they are separate from the rest of the sentence. Idk how to explain.

That was amazing, for a bit I thought I would know all the facts, and for the most part I did. But those last few were amazing! From the small things like talking to Irina while wearing Eygon's gloves, to the amazing theory about Gertrude and Lothric. Absolutely fantastic video. :)
On the subject of fighting the Dancer early, you can beat her with little effort by killing the Sword Master at Firelink, summoning him for the fight against her, and let him get killed. As soon as he dies, quit the game and reload it. Summon the Sword Master again, and now, due to a glitch, he is immune to damage except by the health drain by his weapon. Just let the two fight, and after like 20 minutes, YOU WIN. Note: must be done BEFORE FIGHTING VORDT
I've tried to set up the Mimic VS Demon fight but I couldn't. It happened as follows: after waking it up and noticing that the Demon went back to his starting position. The skeletons were all over the place and I ran past the Demon, fought the Mimic and then when I look back. Ta da: The skeletons were slicing a bacon out of the Demon. It was so funny to see such a giant and powerful creature getting his ass served by tiny skeletons.
One thing i'm curious about is the entire situation with the geography of the kiln of the first flame, whats with the buildings, the mirror firelink, everything. None of it made sense to me, so perhaps you could piece together that mystery.
+PrimeZ Well Lordran itself is a realm in or held by the archtrees. The place of existence there itself is not really stable. and the lords of cinder who abandoned their duty were called to the first flame. Their home were torn from the homeland and pulled in the realm of the first flame.
+PrimeZ The entire world you visit doesn't make any sense. The rifts here and there, especially visible in the undead settlement, the way the bridge behind Vordt's battle is crumbled and doesn't align with its remnant pillars below showing the fact that Lothric itself is elevated compared to the rest, it all suggests that these places were all pulled together. Presumbaly, the lords of cinder within them is why they were all pulled together. At the end of the game you have all the souls of the lords of cinders within you, the world just crumbles altogether. I don't think it's meant to make any geographical sense at that point, really. It's all just to show that the kiln, the flame will reshape the world as much as necessary to keep itself lit I suppose. What does make geographical sense however is the untended grave area. In the beginning of the game you can see the walls of Lothric from that area, given the fact that you don't see firelink Shrine from the rest of the game it's safe to assume that Firelink shrine is simply behind Lothric castle so it makes some sense that behind oceiros's room would be Firelink Shrine. Altho strangely, it is a past version of firelink shrine, I assume the only explanation for that is because time in Lothric is convoluted and heroes are phasing in and out of existence. It's not the first time the serie pulled some time travel shenanigans, altho it doesn't have the more obvious cuts (loading screen) that previous games had. Just my ideas anyway.
In the beginning, it tells you that the lands are converging. That's why anor londo is there, and why the land around the kiln is destroyed, the land had finally converged.

I love this. This is my first time playing Dark Souls but I've been obsessed with the lore. On my first run through, I started noticing details about the winged statues including the grotesque ones and the perfected ones and also started paying attention to item descriptions. My original theory, before doing a complete run, was that the people of Lothric were obsessed with the sun, as it stood a symbol of the flame that was lost to the world or was about to be lost. In their madness, you see the people who have been praying there the longest are actually ensnared by trees. However, if you look closer, you see they're actually facing towards the top of Lothric castle, not the sun. Dragons were associated with the first flame and seen as sacred beings, and so experiments were done in order to attain a higher being. I never heard/read of Oceiros prior to this part of my theory but once I came across him, it confirmed for ME that I could be on the right track. What you said pushes my idea even further and explains something even more prolific. Kudos on the video. Loved it.
Very interesting theory regarding Gertude's connection to Gwyn and the Twin Princes. One thing that strikes me as odd though is.. What is the Dark Souls definition of an "Angel" and why did it visit Gertrude. Gwynevere also seems to be the implied mother of Lothric and Lorian, so does that make Gertrude their sister? If Gertrude had inherited her supposed mothers affinity for healing miracles, then perhaps they would end up sacrificing her in order to try and heal the prince who was born sick and unfit to be a champion? However.. If you actually look at the miracle "Divine Pillars of Light" Gertrude is described as the queens "Holy Maiden" and not her daughter.
Lorian and Lothric and my favorite duo. The scene of Lorian carrying his little brother on his back even though he is crippled all to avoid Lothrics death is so romantic. True brotherly love
There's actually a glitch surrounding the Dancer. If you kill the katana swordsman and summon him and then fight the Dancer, let her kill him and then quit the game before she kills you. Then reload and you'll be back outside of the fog gate. Re-summon the swordsman and now she can't hurt him at all, and he will bleed the dancer. Just be sure to keep skirting so you don't get tagged by the dancer.
Going by the sentence structure in the description, I actually think it's the chime that was defiled, not Gertrude. Also explains the crystals and all.
so let's sum up from the souls series up to dark souls 3 the game received back the magic spells from demon's souls, it also got back the lords of cinder, and it got the covenants from dark souls 2, and received the fast paced action movement from bloodborne, making it the ultimate souls game.

I don't really think that all you said is correct. I believe that Gwynevere was the Queen of Lothric and wife of Oceiros, Oceiros was obsessed to have perfect child of the dragons, his 1st son - Lorian was simple human, Lothric was born as a mutant(he haw inhuman claws on his hands, i think it beCOS of this), but later the Ocelotte was born, yet queen somehow gone mad, lost her speech and became Rosaria. Rosaria is somehow connected to angels too, as her...finger-thingy minions are casting miracles of angels and one of this things could be found near Gertrude's cage. I don't really good at connecting things but i'm sure about that twin-brothers are Gwynevere's and Oceiros's sons, together with Ocelotte, who is perfect dragon halfbreed and is invisible. Just like Priscilla was.
lothric was born cursed and lorian had to choose between staying by his side and losing his voice and the use of his legs or i guess killing him to avoid being cursed himself item descriptions state that he was born weak and frail which is where i'm assuming he was born cursed, and another item states and lorian wanted to share the curse of his brother dunno about gertrude and the angels but following the proper grammar of the chime's item description the chime was defiled by the scholars, not her

Gwyn's first son did an unspeakable thing (according to Gwyn) and he sided with the dragon's. Gwyn's first son's name was erased from history, and he is the Nameless king. Besides, he uses a sunlight spear, which according to the descriptions only Gwyn and his first son wielded!
The fluff text on the chime means that they defiled the chime... not gertrude... hence the "and defiled". The chime belonged to gertrude and was later defiled by the priests. Sorry to say but there is no lore pointing at her being tortured or experimented on in textform.
Yes, but... no. "Lothric the Holy King" Emphasis on 'Holy'. This is the description from the Soul of the Twin Princes'. "The two princes rejected their duty to become Lords of Cinder, and settled down far, far away to watch the fire fade from a distance. A curse makes their souls nearly inseparable." Lorian cannot die, as according the armor of Lorian, the curse originated with Lothric, but he chose to share the curse with his younger brother, making himself immortal so long as Lothric lives. This may be the very reason as to why Lorian was able to single-handedly defeat the Demon Prince. "Lorian, raised as a knight, is said to have been left mute and crippled by his younger brother's curse. It is also said that Lorian, in fact, wished it so." As for your "Gertrude" in the cage, it is more likely that this corpse is actually the Angel who revealed itself to Gertrude, which would explain the strewn out feathers sprouting from the body. According to the description of the divine pillars of light: "Ordinary men cannot decipher her fragmentary scrawl, nor comprehend how it became the foundation of the Angelic faith of Lothric" ...And yet we see it being used by all the Winged Knights throughout the game. This brings me to the next point. The Winged Knights who 'swore themselves' to the angels. More emphasis on the plural here. Angel-s. For all we know, the Winged Knights themselves may be angels, for they are not 'ordinary men', and that may be why they are referenced as "Winged Knights," even when they have no wings. And this is why Lothric is remarked as the 'Holy' King. Not only does Lothric and Lorian both use miracles extremely similar to those who 'swore themselves to the angels,' but he may very well be the reason Gertrude was there in the first place. The feathers left behind by the teleportation miracles of Lothric and Lorian are identical to those found when using Divine Pillars of Light. For all we know, Gertrude may have very well been teaching the Twin Princes' miracles in hopes that they may find comfort in them... after all... "The Queen's holy maiden Gertrude was visited by an angel" "The Queen's holy maiden Gertrude" "The Queen's holy maiden" "Gertrude" Daughter of the Queen? After all, the Queen was the one who gave birth to Ocelotte... and Ocelotte was responsible for transforming the King into a Paledrake. And Paledrakes are associated with crystals. Crystal chimes perhaps.

The description of Lorian's set says that Lothric was the one who crippled him in the first place,so naturally he wouldn't want to heal him.

To be honest you shouldnt pay too much attention to the sizes of the bosses because of that. Update: Ok on another playthrough I had 3 Havels and 2 Ricards summoned out of 10 or so summons. They're a pain given the restricted space you fight in, Ricard particularly in the room before the bell and the bonfire can stuck you in a corner with his wpn art spam >.

I already knew all this stuff because I actually explored, and i knew which ones were mimics and which ones are not because i played ds1, which has the same thing to find out which ones are mimics, and i hit the mimic and ran away because mimics are hard to fight and there was a demon and the mimic killed 'em
@@francisdimaano2350 mimics are a cake walk just slide between those legs and punish that booty. They have a real hard time landing that kick move if you're aggressive and get up on em. they lean waaay back before going for the grab so just roll to the side when you see it. Do that and you'll be rolling in symbols of avarice in no time. Also you could just hit em with a Loyd's talisman it knocks em out.
I could be wrong, but either on Lorians sword or on his armor set, doesn't it say that it was his brother, or at least his brothers curse that made him cripple and mute. And that Lorian, in fact, wished it so. So it may not be because of Gertrude. Unless she had something to do with Prince Lothrics curse

You do bring up a good point, something I overlooked. I'm hoping they expand upon Gertrude in the DLC. Maybe we'll see something about the Demon Prince? I remember being confused by that when reading the sword description.

+Papa Ton I have a theory that the Old Demon King may have at one time been The Demon Prince, since he's supposedly a demon from days of the bed of chaos, but looks like one of the newer demons, either because A) Whatever it was that reshaped the demons and possibly built the giant autonomous balista also saved him or B) He was the first of the new demons, and mostly recovered from his fight with Lorian with the exception of his eye.

That theory could also further be supported by the fact that Prince Lothric is voiced by the same person who voiced Gwyndolin in Dark Souls. It may or may not be a coincidence, but I think it further supports Lothric's relation to the bloodline of Gwyn.
Am I the only one that punches chests before I open them? Lol. Even since earlier souls games I don't want to break the chest so I just use my hand and punch it! If nothing happens you're good, if it does then it's ON!

+iSmokeRockz If you want a bit more free damage on the mimic before he gets up, check the chain. If the chain is curled back, the chest is NOT a mimic. If the chain is straight forward it is a mimic. Mimic chests also breathe very slightly. Charge up that R2 and wail away.

One thing I noticed is that when you collect all the White Tree Branches at the white trees, the Giant in the Undead Settlement dies for some reason.

This is great! I didn't know that much about the lore for DS3 yet but these secrets are always helpful. I platinumed the game at level 180 and I'm still going, I love this game but can't believe I didn't even realize you could throw that item at mimics, also didn't know that thing about summoning Havel again and the different ways to kill the stray demon. Four different endings to this game, what seems like over a 100 in game secrets from lore to hidden paths, I still have much to do in this game. Thanks for the great video. Subscribed!

The item description of the Crystal Chime clearly states that what was defiled wasn't Gertrude, but the Chime itself. English is not my first language, but when things are between comas, they are separate from the rest of the sentence. Idk how to explain.

That was amazing, for a bit I thought I would know all the facts, and for the most part I did. But those last few were amazing! From the small things like talking to Irina while wearing Eygon's gloves, to the amazing theory about Gertrude and Lothric. Absolutely fantastic video. :)

When you meet the younger prince for the first time and you´re like "damn...what an emo."
The stray demon and the mimic got into it on their own during my play through. It was terrifying and mesmerizing to watch.
On the subject of fighting the Dancer early, you can beat her with little effort by killing the Sword Master at Firelink, summoning him for the fight against her, and let him get killed. As soon as he dies, quit the game and reload it. Summon the Sword Master again, and now, due to a glitch, he is immune to damage except by the health drain by his weapon. Just let the two fight, and after like 20 minutes, YOU WIN.

I've tried to set up the Mimic VS Demon fight but I couldn't.
It happened as follows: after waking it up and noticing that the Demon went back to his starting position.
The skeletons were all over the place and I ran past the Demon, fought the Mimic and then when I look back.
Ta da: The skeletons were slicing a bacon out of the Demon.
It was so funny to see such a giant and powerful creature getting his ass served by tiny skeletons.
One thing i'm curious about is the entire situation with the geography of the kiln of the first flame, whats with the buildings, the mirror firelink, everything. None of it made sense to me, so perhaps you could piece together that mystery.
+PrimeZ Well Lordran itself is a realm in or held by the archtrees. The place of existence there itself is not really stable. and the lords of cinder who abandoned their duty were called to the first flame. Their home were torn from the homeland and pulled in the realm of the first flame.
The mirror firelink belongs to another unkindled who hasnt woken up yet i think.
+PrimeZ The entire world you visit doesn't make any sense. The rifts here and there, especially visible in the undead settlement, the way the bridge behind Vordt's battle is crumbled and doesn't align with its remnant pillars below showing the fact that Lothric itself is elevated compared to the rest, it all suggests that these places were all pulled together. Presumbaly, the lords of cinder within them is why they were all pulled together.
At the end of the game you have all the souls of the lords of cinders within you, the world just crumbles altogether. I don't think it's meant to make any geographical sense at that point, really. It's all just to show that the kiln, the flame will reshape the world as much as necessary to keep itself lit I suppose.
What does make geographical sense however is the untended grave area. In the beginning of the game you can see the walls of Lothric from that area, given the fact that you don't see firelink Shrine from the rest of the game it's safe to assume that Firelink shrine is simply behind Lothric castle so it makes some sense that behind oceiros's room would be Firelink Shrine. Altho strangely, it is a past version of firelink shrine, I assume the only explanation for that is because time in Lothric is convoluted and heroes are phasing in and out of existence. It's not the first time the serie pulled some time travel shenanigans, altho it doesn't have the more obvious cuts (loading screen) that previous games had.
Just my ideas anyway.

I love this. This is my first time playing Dark Souls but I've been obsessed with the lore. On my first run through, I started noticing details about the winged statues including the grotesque ones and the perfected ones and also started paying attention to item descriptions. My original theory, before doing a complete run, was that the people of Lothric were obsessed with the sun, as it stood a symbol of the flame that was lost to the world or was about to be lost. In their madness, you see the people who have been praying there the longest are actually ensnared by trees. However, if you look closer, you see they're actually facing towards the top of Lothric castle, not the sun. Dragons were associated with the first flame and seen as sacred beings, and so experiments were done in order to attain a higher being. I never heard/read of Oceiros prior to this part of my theory but once I came across him, it confirmed for ME that I could be on the right track. What you said pushes my idea even further and explains something even more prolific. Kudos on the video. Loved it.

Very interesting theory regarding Gertude's connection to Gwyn and the Twin Princes.
One thing that strikes me as odd though is.. What is the Dark Souls definition of an "Angel" and why did it visit Gertrude. Gwynevere also seems to be the implied mother of Lothric and Lorian, so does that make Gertrude their sister?
If Gertrude had inherited her supposed mothers affinity for healing miracles, then perhaps they would end up sacrificing her in order to try and heal the prince who was born sick and unfit to be a champion?
However.. If you actually look at the miracle "Divine Pillars of Light" Gertrude is described as the queens "Holy Maiden" and not her daughter.

There's actually a glitch surrounding the Dancer. If you kill the katana swordsman and summon him and then fight the Dancer, let her kill him and then quit the game before she kills you. Then reload and you'll be back outside of the fog gate. Re-summon the swordsman and now she can't hurt him at all, and he will bleed the dancer. Just be sure to keep skirting so you don't get tagged by the dancer.
Does this still work? I'm certain Fromsoft would have patched it by now, and on a diffirent note, does the tree jump still work?

so let's sum up from the souls series up to dark souls 3 the game received back the magic spells from demon's souls, it also got back the lords of cinder, and it got the covenants from dark souls 2, and received the fast paced action movement from bloodborne, making it the ultimate souls game.

I believe that Gwynevere was the Queen of Lothric and wife of Oceiros, Oceiros was obsessed to have perfect child of the dragons, his 1st son - Lorian was simple human, Lothric was born as a mutant(he haw inhuman claws on his hands, i think it beCOS of this), but later the Ocelotte was born, yet queen somehow gone mad, lost her speech and became Rosaria.
Rosaria is somehow connected to angels too, as her...finger-thingy minions are casting miracles of angels and one of this things could be found near Gertrude's cage.
I don't really good at connecting things but i'm sure about that twin-brothers are Gwynevere's and Oceiros's sons, together with Ocelotte, who is perfect dragon halfbreed and is invisible. Just like Priscilla was.

Besides, he uses a sunlight spear, which according to the descriptions only Gwyn and his first son wielded!

The fluff text on the chime means that they defiled the chime... not gertrude... hence the "and defiled". The chime belonged to gertrude and was later defiled by the priests.
Sorry to say but there is no lore pointing at her being tortured or experimented on in textform.

As for your "Gertrude" in the cage, it is more likely that this corpse is actually the Angel who revealed itself to Gertrude, which would explain the strewn out feathers sprouting from the body.

...And yet we see it being used by all the Winged Knights throughout the game.
This brings me to the next point. The Winged Knights who 'swore themselves' to the angels.

For all we know, the Winged Knights themselves may be angels, for they are not 'ordinary men', and that may be why they are referenced as "Winged Knights," even when they have no wings.
And this is why Lothric is remarked as the 'Holy' King.
Not only does Lothric and Lorian both use miracles extremely similar to those who 'swore themselves to the angels,' but he may very well be the reason Gertrude was there in the first place.
The feathers left behind by the teleportation miracles of Lothric and Lorian are identical to those found when using Divine Pillars of Light. For all we know, Gertrude may have very well been teaching the Twin Princes' miracles in hopes that they may find comfort in them... after all...
