Great way to start the weekend, waking up to RR TFL videos!!
Tough call…
I’ll be curious to see a 3 way Ranger drag race when the 2.7 comes out.
It wasn’t a fair race, that sport bar on the F150 was good for an additional 10 horsepower.
We live in Australia & the Next-Gen Ranger Raptor has been out here for well over a year & a half. Currently there are three well known and established tuners, respectively they are putting out some good numbers with their tunes. We are all looking forward to what our US friends have to offer now you are staring to see them hit the roads over there, fun times ahead for us Next-Gen Ranger Raptor owners 🤘 We love ours, just shy of 20,000km and it’s been the best car u have owned.
Race them around a motocross track. That would be cool.
They did that once between a Raptor and TRX I think. Definitely would be cool though not sure how their insurance would like it doing that so regularly.
But they are doing what every owner will do. Drive straight on pavement.
I always look forward to a good Saturday morning truck video!
Will be interesting to see the 2.7 Ranger. Plan on picking one up to replace my 2019.
Great looking truck
Saturday, no replacement for displacement racing. Nice way to start the weekend!
Imagine how quick the Ranger Raptor would be if it had an all-aluminum body like the F-150. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
What like to see the ranger with the 5 star tune in it. Then race the f-150 raptor. 🤔 great video yall 🤘
I wonder how a standard Ranger 2.7 would do against the Raptor.
The E85 5 star tune really woke up my 5.0 F150. A tune on a turbo engine would see way more gains.
That’s what I said lol- but I’d like to see em BOTH tuned before/after….i have a 2020 F150 Raptor & w/ just a tune it went from 342whp/405wtq to 421rwhp/492rwt 😳😳😳
Why just tune one? To make it fair, both should be tuned.
@@Pilot545 exactly both of em. And have the F150 on 35”s
As always, what a great video. TFL will always be 1st to show stuff like this.
The more I see reviews on new trucks the more I'm leaning towards finding a 70's model truck for my next "new truck".
I know a lot of people like all the electronics in new vehicles but I hate it. I now drive a 2008 Ford-F150 XL. 4.2 V6 5 speed manual & the only luxury items it has is a radio & A/C but it still has a pile of sensors that runs it & that's the part that I don't like. My 1st truck was a 1976 Dodge & that's about what I'm gonna be looking for again, 70's Ford, Chevy, Dodge I really don't care just as long as it doesn't have any computers & sensors.
Ford would never let the Ranger win. Similar to Chevy with the Camaro/Corvette.
Clearly you forget about the LS1 4th gen F-bodies…. 😉
Similar to Porsche 911 vs Cayman. They down tune the engines just a bit.
Have you tried 0 to 60 in Baja mode
Have you also tried a rolling start in Baja mode
How can you want more from the Ranger? any more, and it's as fast as the F150
If the ranger was faster than my canyon I was seriously considering trading it. I was seriously hoping it would be 14.5 at least.
I've been waiting for this video!
Nice video guys.
The v6 fits the ranger better then in a full size imo
I love my F150 Raptor on 37s. Best car that I have ever owned for pure fun. Not reliable, not good value, but super fun. Ranger Raptor may be even more fun as it can actually fit on more trails.
I have never sat in the back seat of my truck, but I hear it’s real nice.
I just wonder what octane you were running in the Ranger? I seen where they ran a test and the timing is advanced with higher octane. Deference better 87 and 91 was a half second at the quarter. Just wondering if anything was left at the table
Question, is the Ford lettering in the grill the same exact size in both? that would be something curious that Ford keeps the same size.
Hi amazing videos guys, and I have a question can you guys do a 2024 vs v8 tundra trd pros race? Thx.
How many miles does the Ranger Raptor have on it vs. the F150 and what other mods does the f150 have - exhaust intake, tuning. To me the 37's are heavier and more rolling resistance, did you try the Ranger Raptor in Baja mode - faster accel in an Aussie test. How did you break in the Ranger R. engine?
Ford are now selling locally converted right hand drive crew cab F150’s with the standard 3.5 Ecoboost in Australia. They’re slightly lighter than the Ranger Raptor and have a bit more power, so they’re a little bit quicker than the Ranger.
Lovin that Aleix Espargaro hat
BPT over seas had tuned it to almost 500 hp and only raised the boost by 3 psi.....
big brother races little brother. Nice!
wheres the cooled seats hood supports soft tailgate
I'm really getting interested in Ranger Raptor latly
You need to know how to get best from ranger raptor. 4 auto high in baja mode...they are lot faster than that...low 14's have been recorded.
I wanna see this race again except I want both trucks tuned - just 93 octane performance tunes that’s all, be good to have em both from the same company (Livernois, 5star, Cobb, Gearhead etc)
Which do you hate less? Headlight switch in the Colorado infotainment screen, or the locker and heated/cooled seats in the Ranger infotainment?
I honestly think having the heated/cooled seats and locker in the infotainment system is worse than the lights especially since you can set that lights to auto and just forget about it.
@@kabloosh699I agree, a lot of people complained about the headlight switch being in the infotainment but it comes from the factory on auto and most people I've met who have a car with auto headlights leave it on auto. On the other hand lockers and heated seats get turned on and off way more often than headlights with an auto setting.
I hate it, I turn auto off on long drives, if a big rig needs to get over I turn the lights on and off to let them know that I’m letting them change lanes in front of me. It’s hard for them to see so it helps them to be safe.
@@adambaddass why not just flash your brights? When I'm in my rollback passing big rigs that's how they let me know I have enough room.
@@lidolf8168 if it’s in the screen one still has to look away from the road to use it, there is studies showing that have everything in the screen is more dangerous because if you are always taking your eyes off the road to get to something that use to be a button. My seat warmer is in the screen and I hate having to go to a second screen to turn it off when I no longer need it.
That f150 must be making more than advertised, theres no way ~50hp and torque negate the 700lbs difference like that!! I like how the ranger looks tho. And why are people excited for the 2.7? Is it a better engine than the 3.0?😊
Tuned Ford Raptor Ranger vs Stock Raptor F150!
Put the ranger into sport mode. different race
Need to compare hp/lb ratio on all vehicles
No replacement for displacement as they say even if v6s
The 2.3l run probably has 31" AT tires which will definitely make a difference in the 1/4 mile times.
Great little race. How about the Ranger Raptor VS 5.0 F150? Different engine types but similar power numbers. BTW I drive a 2023 5.0 F150 and very interested in the Ranger
Did you run Premium fuel in both of them?
Yes
Something went wrong, the Ranger raptor is faster than that
@@titanx04 there so many miles above sea level everything is seconds slower up there
No. They put 87 in the ranger.
Video idea: Drag Race the Ranger Raptor, the Bronco Raptor, and the F150 Raptor. It is pretty clear who will win the regular race, but seeing how the Ranger Raptor did on the roll race, I think that would be a fun video.
For me both trucks are great it just depends what do you need them for and the budget you have because they are almost the same in numbers but not on price … I would buy the Ranger Raptor because it will be perfect for my activities and no way I’m not going to buy a bigger truck that cost twice as much . Great video by the way.
I feel privileged to see the video first. But tomorrow morning I won't have a video to watch.
You ok man?
How is this comment a day old and the video is only 26 minutes old right now?🤔
@@firebry23It was probably released to Patrons earlier than us normal types.
😂
Some time travel shenanigans going on here lol l😂
Cant wait till Ford brings put the Ranger Raptor R
If they do, it will probably be just the 3.5 engine in the Ranger. Although that is not a bad idea.
That would be sick with mustang gt 5.0 in it
I'm impressed that they running Mustang &Camaro Quarter miles
Is premium fuel “required” on the Ranger Raptor, or just recommended for optimum performance?
It's optimum. Can still run on regular according to another review
87 is the min required
Just wait...the 2.7 ranger will be quicker than the Ranger Raptor 😅
And brake down twice as fast
Surprised the time different wasn't bigger for the Ranger raptor vs standard Ranger
Andre should have put it in 4wheel auto, he also has the 430# torque like mine, I’ve done 0 to 60 in high 6s, he got a horrible start!
after watching this video i'm starting to think that they might have detuned the 3.0 from the output it makes on the bronco just enough to guarantee it was not going to be faster than the F150
I don't think Ford would let the ranger Raptor outrun the Big Brother more expensive Raptor F-150. Now I would like to see both of them tuned drag race each other again that would be cool
But how does the ranger raptor do against your raptor r? I think it’s got a chance
I would like to see a tuned ranger raptor vs stock f150 raptor
A few things that Ranger Raptor needs...1) A sunroof. 2) Heated and cooled seats. Cooled, not ventilated. 3) Rear seat HVAC. And finally, 4) An R model with the 3.5!!! Otherwise, It IS the perfect truck!!
Sunroofs are massively overrated.
@@dodo19923 To you maybe. I use mine every day. Popped up to vent on bad days and fully open on good days. Let me count...'78 Cougar, Sunroof. '82 Capri, sunroof. '84 RX-7, Sunroof. '85 Merkur XR4Ti, sunroof. '93 SHO, Sunroof. '01 Explorer, sunroof. '06 Lincoln LS, Sunroof. '15 Jeep GC, Sunroof, '18 Jeep GC, Sunroof. '18 SHO, Sunroof. My '89 F-150 regular cab, '91 Silverado Regular Cab, and '04 F-150 extra cab were the only ones without sunroofs. So yeah, maybe the sunroof is overrated to you.
@@dodo19923have Raptor 37 with sunroof and I agree. I’d rather have the payload.
Hate sunroofs
@@JT012 That's what makes them the perfect "Option". You don't want = You don't get. It's really not a hard concept.
I suspect Ford wouldn't let the Ranger outperform the Raptor
Would like to see the big raptor vs the ram 1500 500 hp inline 6
No replacement for displacement
Front lockers make all the difference in the world if you like off-roading.
And yet Andre’s old Powerboost was faster then both, towed more, had more payload, and cost less :)
My friend has a 2019 Ford f150 with the 3.5 L EcoBoost engine in the 10-speed transmission and it's pretty nasty when it gets tuned. I mean it's still nasty stock
Much better then the ranger edge
I'm impressed by the little ranger for doing such a good job trying to keep up. The raptor 150 Is very quick and definitely nicer inside than my custom trail boss, but I got FAT rims & tires, V8, muffler delete, and other stuff good too!
Trail Boss is an awesome truck! I think it's the best value for an off-road oriented truck
@TheCapn23 I pull a 14 ft enclosed trailer everyday and El Jefe handles it well 💪
Trail Boss cool truck, BUT you should yank that DOD cam/lifters for a bit of a hot cam & avoid wrecking your engine from a dropped lifter. That AFM/DOD stuff is garbage.
@MS-mr4zm good advice! My particular truck didn't have the chip so it doesn't do the start/stop, and it stays v8 full time luckily. I have 90,000 mi and good so far!
@@ED0GGYO so it must be tuned? Yeah I think turning off the auto start/stop & the cylinder deactivation greatly increases the long term reliability/longevity, just think how much more reduced the duty cycle is on the starter for instance!
I think you don't have the option for the right Ranger, we in Brazil have the 3.0 V6 Diesel available with 250 hp and 440 pound feet of torque. The Limited comes with air vents to the back seat too. Also the payload is 1025 kg and the towing capacity of 3500 kg.
We don’t get the diesel ranger but the gas 3.0 L makes 405 hp and 430 tq so not much of a reason to get the diesel. Maybe fuel economy/ towing
FWIW, its harder to pull a taller tire.
Kinda surprised the Ranger Raptor has so much more weight over a '24 XLT 4x4, spec wise comes in almost 900lbs heavier! At this point would be interesting seeing a rapter vs ranger fx4 2.7L when they come out. Extra weight of the 2.7L, maybe still 600-700lbs lighter than the Raptor.
Hmm now take it to 5-star tuning 😅
Cool race, I thought the Ranger would have done better.
4.10gears and 510tq really helps that og raptor move.
I could be mistaken, but I believe the Ranger has a 4.27 rear end, so more aggressive still than the F-150 Raptor.
@@ALMX5DPI think it’s 3.73
@@keithhunt3437 the regular Ranger models have 3.73's, I had to check the website since I had not heard of a common 4.27 rear end ratio but that is what Ford lists in the spec sheet for the Raptor.
@@ALMX5DPdamn didn’t realize my truck has a 4.27!!
Well done you three goats
Alex rocking the Eagles and Espargaro merch.
At $110k loaded, that f150 best come with divorce papers.
That's the cost of the Raptor R.
@@chrisutech3676
He said the topped out f150 Raptor was 111k. No?
@@bubcat54yes, but he meant the topped of raptor=raptor r
@@tengouniformcharliekilo1941
I was talking about the f150 Raptor. That's what this video is about.
@@bubcat54 the Raptor R is still a Raptor. The 3.5L Raptor tops out at $98k with every single available option, including stupid things like the ash tray and cargo net.
I thought Andre said $58k on his debut video and you say $67k ?? 🤷♂️🤷♂️
😂😂😂😂😂
$57,600. Maybe I misspoke??
@@TFLtruck10-4 just curious
The drag racing is fun to watch but I would love to see the human variable taken out and stick that colorado, ranger, and ranger raptor on a dyno back to back to see what the actual numbers are at the wheels.
The biggest difference is that the F150 is 2 years old , broken in and loosened up , the Ranger is brand new and super tight yet , do the drag race again when the Ranger has 5000 miles on the clock , then it will be equal , if not faster with a smaller frontal area .
The Ranger Raptor just needs a couple upgrades to get it to 500hp and it will be perfect.
Picking mine up Thursday
Ranger put up a good fight considering its only advantages were weight and I guess aerodynamics.
Ford's decision to use aluminum in the F-150 has paid off huge over and over now. That's why the F-150 is always surprisingly light compared to similarly configured trucks. Compare an F-150 Raptor R to a Ram 1500 TRX... the TRX is nearly 800lbs heavier. Or here where the F-150 Raptor is only a couple hundred pounds heavier than the Ranger Raptor (which is a more traditional steel panel truck). I still prefer the Ranger's size and I think there's a ton of value in the Ranger Raptor's price. If you're actually going to use it as intended it seems great. Awesome payload for overlanding and basically only needs a steel front bumper and winch to go anywhere you'd really want short of Jeep style rock crawling.
Already has steel front and rear bumpers
@@keithhunt3437 There is no winch mount, that makes the front one useless to me. If it has that same awful "modular" mount I saw them out on the F-150 Tremor then that's also useless. GM and Jeep are the only ones I've seen put well thought out winch mount bumpers on their off-roaders. I know these have been out in the world market for awhile so I assume ARB or someone already had a good bumper/winch mount.
Ranger has 406 cv and f150 720 cv?I would go Ranger because the performance is very similar.
Always having the Yugoslav and Slovenia drivers at the video every?
Time for a tuned Raptor Ranger
Ford performance has a tune coming out for the Ranger Raptor in the 4th quarter and will not void your warranty you need to test for us.
Wish they would come out with one for the f-150, or PB. There are tunes out there, but I don't want to lose my warranty.
With the rising inflation, the middle class is nonexistent. In 2022 I bought my ram rebel for the same price the ram trx was going for in 2019.
That’s the “regular” Raptor, not the R.🤷🏽
Damn I really thought the ranger would win the drags, and I own ‘19 F150 Raptor.
What’s the top speed on the Ranger Raptor? Maybe it was about to hit the speed limiter on the roll race. F150 Raptor has a speed limiter of 11? Mph.
Nice runs. I would go with a Ranger Raptor. It’s the most truck I need anyways. I have a Jeep Gladiator. The only thing I don’t like is that’s it’s a dog. But nice seeing this smaller trucks getting some love finally.
Ranger Raptor is goved at 113 I believe
The 6.2 v8 raptor sounds better.
Ywandre yelling shift won’t make the truck go faster. Actually if it did shift it would bog being in too high a gear. Does he not realize that vehicles down shift to accelerate when the peddle is floored?
The back seat... that alone makes the F150 better.
Well duh its a bigger truck
Ranger for young dudes, F-150 for the family man!
Wow never thought I’d see someone say a performance vehicle was better because it had a bigger back seat.
That ranger Raptor should have a 4.0 liter V8. I'd buy that over a 3.0 liter V6. I need some kind of V8 sound .
Ford needs to make a Ford ranger raptor R
in a twisty road the ranger is quicker, for sure...so to carry my groceries i´ll get the Ranger Raptor
Damn ford did a hell of a job on that ranger. Let's see if face a silverado
They did a race in Australia the Ranger Raptor for 2023 has 392 hp and they raced it against a 1500 Chevy with the 6.2 420 hp 460 tq and the ranger raptor gapped it in the quarter mile
Ranger raptor R
Should also note that the Gen3 Raptors are underrated from the factory- they rate them the same as the Gen2’s but they have a different compression ratio & they also have different tuning allowing more torque @ lower rpm, besides that they also dyno a lil higher mainly in torque dept, regardless- run 93 octane in them stock & they’ll gain 20-30whp/wtq
Should put the F150 Raptor R in the mix for sh*ts and giggles 😂
And the ranger with the V6 when it’s out.
The Ranger raptor has the 3.0tt V-6.
@@marcg.3830 yes but Ranger is supposed to also have it later this year.
@@adambaddass no, it’s getting the 2.7tt V-6
@@marcg.3830 it has a 2.3 4 cylinder now does it not.
Too bad all the dealers near me all want markups ranging from $7,500 to $15k for the Ranger Raptor.
Pretty tight drag race. How cool that Alex is an Eagles fan!! GO BIRDS!!!
Love the looks of the Ranger Raptor! Price, not so much!
What happened to those insane engineers of old that put V8's in the ranger sized trucks, S10 sized trucks, Tacoma sized trucks? Sigh 😮💨 bring 'em back 😪
