- This is our last day in Hokkaido, we're going for another HUGE day of JAPANESE FOOD in Sapporo. We're starting things off at the iconic Sapporo TV Tower for the best views in town. Then it's time to eat, we're going for a bowl of Hokkaido's own miso ramen at the Ramen Republic! Finally you can't come to Sapporo without trying the namesake beer. We're going straight to the source, but not only for the drinks, we're here for their famous Genghis Khan BBQ!

I'm going to Sapporo in Nov and this video got me really motivated for the trip.
I've always had Hokkaido on my bucket list from the Anime Silver Spoon, where it mentions that it's one of the major places for farms, and everything is so fresh. The Butter/corn on the ramen just seems so natural, as I've heard their milk and milk based ice cream is to die for! Thanks for the video!

I’m pretty sure (about 80%) that I heard the reason it’s called Genghis Khan BBQ is because of the shape of the grill your using. It’s the shape of the helmets the Mongolian soldiers wore, and they would use their metal helmets to cook hot meals on.
Oh very cool!
Also because of the lamb that is offered. Mutton was and still very popular with Mongolia.
Although the ingredients in that bowl of Ramen are really rich, I admire you for introducing it so wonderfully, you are such a gourmet!
Genghis Khan BBQ is really a bit like Korean BBQ, but the story of imported wool during World War II is impressive!

Oh wow that ramen looks so delicious Luke, Japan is amazing for their street food and beauty. A friend is in Tokyo right now and is due to come back at the end of the month but he doesn’t want to. I don’t blame him. The observation towers looked so awesome!

The grill is similar to mookata BBQ which is famous in Thailand and Singapore .. the Thai version got soup going around the grill instead of putting the vegetables around it and it has all sort of meat other than mutton show here

I burst out laughing at 9:30 - No, that much head on a beer definitely wouldn't fly in Canada 😂 (Seriously, its a legal requirement to pour the advertised amount of liquid in draft beers - head not included)
No shade, tho - chances are, that big of a crown may just be customary in Japan (similar to some countries in Europe)

the head in europa you need to have two fingers amount of head it haves somthing to do with your cigarette so you can hold it like that way
Australian hogget is what you want, tastier than lamb without the gaminess of mutton. Well, anything Australian is pretty good😂
Beer is meant to have a foam on top...if you are shocked of it and wait for it to go down you are all wrong.
i wen to that ramen place in the basement of shibuya. the meat was fatty and the meal expensive. i had better ramen for less in Taiwan, South Korea and Thailand
