I made a replica of the sewer set w/$55 worth of materials from Home Depot and using NECAs measurements. $#!+ looks dope AF. I refuse to do another $300.

Money aside, if I had enough space for it (or if I were still doing TMNT stop motion), I would have bought these. But I don't have the space (nor I want it collecting dust), and I have other wiser uses for my money at the moment 😄

Definitely a pass for me on Donnie's lab. It's cool and all, but I don't have anywhere to put the last sewer lair I bought, and I kinda regret spending $300 on it.

You’re absolutely right, the lab should’ve came with tools similar to the Super 7 Party Wagon. Missed opportunity by Neca for not including Donatello’s does machine.
Putting up the living room and the cartoon diorama again would have boosted sales. What a waste, no go for me at $300.

That price! just like the livingroom. If figures cost like $35-$60 each room they think is the same value as like 8 standard figures!? it is a mass produced plastic walls and background stuff. no articulation or bonus figure just static. think about it guys compared to other things we all preorder "sdcc sets, haslabs, mattel playsets, ramen toys stuff, kickstarters..." the value of a penny well spent just is not there. I really like all these sewer sets but really in the end like over $1000 for a complete sewer and then you still need the dio sets and the streets above! crazy

Same as you, I have just about every NECA release for the toon line but skipped out on the living room and this one. There's just not $300 worth of plastic, tooling, or anything, really.
In the famous words of Michelle Tanner when it comes to the Donnie Lab that's a firm "No Way Jose". The Neca Lair sections are not worth the $300+ price tag. Im saving my money on that beautiful Ramen Toy MUSK 🙌
Looking at the sewer lair lab it doesn’t really connect with the other one, since the sewer tunnels are block by the shelves when you put them one 🤷🏻♂️

I can make that easy diorama it's pretty plain. They could have added more accessories.
I didn't get the living room, and I won't get Donnie's lab. Too pricey and I don't have the space.
I think I'll just make a lair space within one of the shelves I have. I have the accessories pack, so I'll place the TV in there, make a couch, and call it a day.
But Flip-Or... gotta get him. Maybe a glow in the dark one, When it gets there.
Wow. I just checked and the living room lair is selling for big $ on eBay. Had no idea. I did not buy it when offered because I felt - and still feel that it wasn’t worth the asking price of $300.
I feel this lab has more value than the living room. More interesting stuff - machines. I put one in my cart, but couldn’t pull the trigger.
It’s not the $ as much as the space. When I display figures it’s like most people - groupings of characters on a shelf. Sometimes I use risers, but that’s about it. If I get this I become a “diorama guy” which is a different kind of displaying. Also, this needs a specific measurement of space. I wouldn’t want to simply plop it on top of a table or bookshelf - but where else do you put it? If I have dioramas I want them to fit in my detolf or other display cabinets. Those cabinets have their own specific dimensions - and I would need a customized diorama to fit. Bottom line, I don’t think I’m a diorama guy.
The other thing IS the cost/value. Buying online is a different sort of animal. We’ve all bought something and then when we get it in the mail have been disappointed. With this Donatello’s lab, I asked myself: if I saw this diorama in a store, in one of those boxes with a cellophane window where I could see it. Would I buy it when I see the $300 price tag? I think I’d set it back down.
9K away from unlocking Glow in the Dark Flip-Or. I'm definitely getting all 4 variants, but the regular is the only one I'm getting with the set of two Flip-Bots. I can make do with the one Flipper Frank head, and I don't need no more than 2 of any Army Builder. Have Flip-Or hire guys from the Evil Warriors, Evil Horde, Snake Men, or any of my custom characters to help him do his scalping.
The Only one of my guys not willing to help will be my custom boy Skunk, because my drunkard merc with a Coridite liver would rather beat the weapons he needs out of Frank than pay his markup. Perfect Gold won't be able to protect that Scalper forever. Skunk's the persistent type.
I'm getting the lab cause I love it but I agree the price is ludicrous and the shipping charge to Australia is freaking insane...$US156.99, that's $241 Australian dollars!!!

Bought a lair and lab, but you're right the price is too high for what you get. Disappointed it does not have the coffee machine
I do think this is a better deal than the living room. But if I got this I would be tempted to get that too, which was already too much but now I would be paying secondary market prices. Then I would also want two street dios, same issue. This is part of what attracts me to the MUSK (in addition to the price obviously). No piece-meal bullshit, no need to have to be all in the line for years and eat any shit sandwich price to avoid FOMO.

@@rbyee7571 They brought back the baby turtle figures for the sewer layer. So I assume the portal would come back for donny's lab.
@@dcb6729 No. The baby turtle set was first released at the store and then it was available for purchase online. Neca TMNT only re-releases figures one time (I don't know exactly remember the date and the sets but the first Bebop and Rocksteady 2 pack was on it).
Perhaps, Neca might do it again since people are complaining about purchasing one street diorama not knowing there will be three underground lair sets.
Which I'm up for by the way and it'll give collectors like you a second chance to buy who missed it; but we'll never know.

Nope, not getting shoe box #2. If I can use the Neca street diorama for non Neca figures, then I can definitely use the upcoming RamenToys diorama for ANY of my figures.

I got a lab. I think it’s super cool with the machines. I don’t have a 3D printer 🤷♂️ I get some people saying it’s not worth it. It’s insane how much they ask. I like it but it’s ok not too. lol

Wonder if this would have done better as just the interior pieces that allowed you to change the living room into donnies lab.
Then that would make sense to re-sell the living room set AND there would be people who would pick it up just to make their own walls to complete the dio.

I MIGHT bite on this one. I have a whole diorama set up I’d like to do in the future and, unfortunately, the portal and Donatello’s lab is the genesis for the entire thing. It was another kick in the dick to see $300 again.

Yeah currently the Frank head can only come with the bundle, so if you got 4 of those bundles you’d Have everything in every color

I was interested in getting the lab since I was a dumbass and got the living room. BUT with the price.. I'm like no... it kinda broke me on the idea
i wont be getting donnie lab.. i cracked and got living room but price hurt but i thought fair enough tooling whatever but mine arrived damaged and neca were not interested at all even though i was calm about it and just asked them to have it out with the courier as parcel must be insured plus we the buyer cant claim as we not the courier customers so sender must have it out with them and hold them accountable.. i said this to neca if they can not do anything like replacement part or what then least hold the courier responsible but neca just ghosting my email (wouldnt shock me if they used my email and photo to claim with courier and just pocketed the money from the claim themselves) so im done with neca few bad QC in past once they were good but slow af but happy they dealt with it back when they only had 1 tmnt release but now they just dont care about the customer so im done sadly

Sadly, to me, this is what neca tmnt jumping the shark looks like. 3 hundo for plastic walls and plastic non articulating accessories is just insaneo. You cracked me up the other day on your video when you said this would be as much or more than the living room because this had "machine parts" like you'd get a working mini microwave oven or something. Its 3d printed or whatever molded plastic cheap crap come on neca. 150 max for this get real! 3 hundred for what absolutely are luxury items, you need to be real excited about it like you said, not fence straddling in the slightest.
STOP PAYING THESE PRICES......AND THEY WILL COME DOWN
