Thank you, got sick of going through USB every time I wanted to load a game,only for it to crash or freeze 80% of the time.. Now have all the playlists for each console under the icons and rarely does a game fail to play. Thank you very much. Amused by "this may take a while 35 games in it"... Waiting for an Atari folder with 2200 games to process 😂
Best part about emulating on a ps3 is that I'm about to hook it up to a CRT through the AV port. (Something you can't do with ps4 or ps5). Only downside is lack of working cores for 32 bit systems.

Out off all home consoles retroarch, ps3 is the best, its too bad it doesnt run Saturn, N64 and Dreamcast systems. The best arcade core is the FBA one, the other arcade cores will get you frustrated.
It lets you create playlists only from external drive, but if you move ROMs to internal drive (ie dev_hdd0/game/SSNE10000/USRDIR/cores/downloads) it doesn't let you scan them....
Only ones before a certain model...after that you have to use HEN wich...I personally wouldn't bother with. The original fat PS3 and some of the original slims..depending on CHECH code on back of console.

@@michaelkranitz4162 I dont think I tried the N64, it will probably struggle, I remember I was having problems trying to add game artwork for some games, I know used Retroarch under the Nvidia shield or Mekotronics android devices, N64 works great under those devices. I'm gonna check if I still have retroarch under my ps3, I know I changed cobra to hen, but I think I'm gonna go back to cobra since Mekotronics can handle the ps2 games, I dont need hen to run them, its a little annoying for me having to turn on hen everytime I turn on the ps3, I dont have to do that with Cobra, sorry my little rant lol.

there isn’t. you can only play game boy & snes pretty much. unfortunately there will never be a way to play n64 on the ps3

There is no N64 core for the PS3 at this time. It is unlikely that there ever will be due to the weird architecture of both consoles.

I copied my entire roms folder, didnt realize i had n64. I tried testing it with no luck.
