the fact u even have to do this tells u how uncomplete retroarch is and the fact it needs more work i been dealing with this BS for weeks until i found a actual useful video thanks so much bro
I just unzip the files on my PC before copying them over. The file type is different for each system. Atari 2600 is .a26, Gameboy Advance is .gba, Sega Genesis is .gen or .md, NES is .nes, SNES is .smc or .sfc, TurboGrafX/PCEngine is .pce.
I have my retroarch functioning pretty much the same as yours. When I load or make save states it takes a minute to load and this delay can get pretty annoying. However, the initial stock config of retroarch doesnt do this and the saving and loading is instant. Is this due to the save on exit setting being off or is this something else you know of?
@@whiskeymcclinton a few minutes ago I discovered it was indeed the threaded option. I went and turned it back on because I never scan directories within retroarch anyway. Thanks for the video thought. Having the autoconfig save itself and preventing the app from opening permanently without a reinstall or deleting the configuration file is a pain in the ass
Retroarch validates the Rom names against a list of known games. If the names or file sizes don't match, it doesn't add them. In that case use the Manual option for adding ROMs. You have to set the core name and emulator playlist name. Can anyone let me know why I'm able to play ROMs off my USB but the exact same files on the hd causes retroarch to crash? They are stored in the downloads file within Retroarch
@@whiskeymcclinton bang on. The mega drive ROMs aren't zipped and it worked like a charm. Tried a zipped one and no good. Thanks heaps mate now I know what to do.
When I save progress and die in half of the mission, I want to go back to where I died, but the screen remains fixed, and the game ost interferes with its sound, and I move the control hand right to left, no benefit, the player does not move
There is a flaw in Save State to avoid. If you hit the X button on the Save Slot option, it will freeze up the system. Remember not to hit the X button on that option.

Mine freezes just importing Roms...any suggestions. I even tried just importing one rom and it got 50% and froze.🙃
I do not use zipped ROMs, and I leave Threaded Tasks option turned off in Settings. Both cause problems when loading ROMs or scanning ROMs.

This may be due to turning the threaded option off. Threaded on is faster, but I had freezes from it, especially when scanning for new ROMs.

All my snes and genesis roms are zipped and in their folders, why are most of the roms not showing up after the scan?

Great tutorial thank you. How do I create a list of my ROMs like yours under the little alien invader icon? Ty
