First, I'm 75. During the summer I bicycle 20 to 30miles/day. I'm about to reach 3K miles for the 5th straight year. When weather doesn't permit biking, I do kettlebells at the gym along with weights, ABS, elliptical then dreadmill. I take 8 supplements in the morning and 5 at night. My morning protein drink is a mix of Ka'Chava, RYZE, Chia seeds soaked in chaga mushroom tea with stinging nettles, cinnamon, saffron, and COSTCO's Premier Protein drink (30g). Tastes great. My first meal is after my workout. Just a salad with avocado, spinach and my own dried greens mix. I drink True Lemon water all day long. Everyone thinks I'm in my mid 50's. Diet is important but kettlebells is a major discovery. My weakness? Chocolate. So I make my own almond bark with several different seeds, walnut and almond slices, and 4 types of dark chocolate up to 80% coco topped with course kosher salt. Everyone raves over it. I'm in bed by 11PM and usually up around 7AM. ED problems? Usually have a tent pole in the morning but honestly, I don't know. The need never arises. C'est la vie. Hope springs eternal.

I'm 51 and I've struggled with major depression for 30+ years. I've had doctors give me all kinds of medications down the years; some with awful side effects. 6 months ago I started seeing a different doctor and she had tons of tests done (including a certain prostate test); one of her concerns was my T-level (200). I've been taking 1/2ml weekly for 6 months; now it's 1069 & physically and mentally I've never been so excited about life.... never. My zest for life is explosive. Long as your husband is having blood work done every 3 months. Stand beside him with encouragement and support. 😊
One often overlooked aspect is all the elastane and polyesters in clothing and particularly socks and gym shoes, trainers. Our feet are extremely absorbing and we wear those all day long, sweating in them with close skin contact. Detrimental.
If you look at high school yearbooks from the 40's and 50's, the male seniors seem to look like men in their 20's and 30's do to better testosterone levels.
So much of the way aging is perceived has to do with fashion and how we overall present ourselves. Obviously there's a lot more to it but that one aspect never gets talked about.
That's because the pictures of back then were grainy and not of great quality. If you were to somehow insert today's guys into those photos, and mix those guys together, they'd look the same. Testosterone may be lower today, but it doesn't make a significant difference in the way a guy performs. There's no shortage of athletes signing up for professional sports. There's still plenty of big & tall guys out there. Most importantly, even if guys are weaker today, if the Homeland were to be attacked, men would naturally go back to behaving like their ancestors and become territorial and aggressive. I'm a weak-minded, short, piece of crap guy myself. If my town were to be attacked by a foreign enemy, I would team up with other guys, become hyper vigilant and aggressive... naturally.

Quoting relative risk of dying from low testosterone is meaningless unless we know the absolute risk. If the absolute risk of dying with normal testosterone is 1% this means the relative risk of dying with low testosterone is 1.88 % with both being statistically insignificant.
I'm with you on this. I've known of average guys dying and athletes die in early age, too. The high testosterone guys (bodybuilders, marathon runners, football athletes) die of heart attacks or die because they were involved in social problems. Aggressive guys die in drunk driving accidents or in jail. High testosterone, low testosterone, I think ultimately, it doesn't matter. In 2017, i was so low in testosterone, that my left side of my head went completely bald. And when I started sleeping better, my hair grew back. For a while, my libido disappeared completely. And this returned, but less than it was before I caused my body to become so low in T.
Had my Test checked 6 months ago. 3 months it went from 200 to 1069. Zero to no depression (I been diagnosed with major depression since my 20s. 51 now). Increased energy and drive. My sleep pattern is much better.... Just about everything I have struggled with within myself was all but handled.... Until the doctor said, "your Test level is a little high." So he took me from 1/2ML weekly to biweekly. After 1 month I'm right back where I was before TRT. (Here I am at 1am on RUclips)
@@islesanctum833 sorry for not replying much sooner. I didn't see the notification. (I'll do my best not to write a chapter lol) In 2012 I landed in ICU with both lower lungs full of clots. After all the tests. I found out I had a genetic mutation that causes my blood to thicken. For the next few years I had to get blood work done every month because of the type of medicine I was taking (warfarin). I also had to follow a low - zero vitamin K diet - no green food, especially leafy greens. Years later, I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. That's when I decided to see a younger doctor (that wasn't still practicing like it was 1940). Now I have full blood and urine tests every 3 months. This is when he mentioned that my testosterone level was low... I didn't realize that the low Test could cause all kinds of different problems. All I knew was, okay I have a low libido. No big deal. So, another year went by and he mentioned it again... Except he broke it down and said it can cause depression, lack of daily drive (I thought I was what dad said I was....lazy lol). It could cause bad sleep patterns, high & low mood swings that come out of nowhere, etc etc... I never knew all that. He said we could try TRT and see how it went. I agreed. The second month I noticed I was feeling better..... different than I have ever felt. (Sry, I'll wrap this blah up) Anyway, it's been a few years and I feel more alive. I actually woke up excited about the day ahead. Before, I would dread even the thought of having to wake up the next day. I have more energy and drive everyday. (Like the life gurus say, "get excited about life man!" - Tony Robinson). I actually feel like a 25 year old, in a 51 year old body lol. But anyway, I'll stop before your head explodes lol.
Ive got low-T, type2 diabetes, obese low energy and had a stroke in 2020. I need to increase my testosterone seriously! Since the beginning of the year I have been following proper diet and have losy approx 25lbs. My problem is exercise. I have problems from my stroke in walking any distance. I need strength too! Im thinking that some chair exercises would be in order for me? Will this get my testosterone up? I cannot take HRT due to having to take blood thinners because I have a blood clot factor.
When my husband was diagnosed with Prostate cancer (50 yo) he had very low Vit D and lower level of testosterone. I found a study that said men with this combination has higher risk of Prostate cancer. Now that he’s had the surgery (4 yrs out and PSA levels still 0) he still has low testosterone and they will not prescribe testosterone. Supposed to be bad for these cancer patients? Anyone know what we can do?
Vitamin D is dependent on the person. The only way is to get it tested. I am 96kg low fat and taking 10000 iu per day is right for me. Make sure you get k2 with the Vitamin D. Zinc is helpful, as is greens, ginger, weight lifing and no alcohol.
I am 75, weight trained since my early 20’s and did all the research on whole food and all the negative aspects. Still building muscle so maybe my T is ok. Just wanted to say t had any you for upvoting red meat( grass fed no hormones). Most don’t have the courage to say that. I think your video is the most accurate information about food and the subject out there. Other medical professionals do ok in their videos until the shoot saturated fat down and boost grains. I cringe!!
Women need the exact same things as men PLUS all the other things you said they need but until the last few years information like this was NOT on the internet blasted all over the place. UNFORTUNATELY too many men and women NEVER LEARN this critical information.
Doc, I agree with you on all your points, except meat. I changed to a primarily carnivorous (non organic meat) diet about a year ago, with some dairy. After 6 months of this diet, my testosterone jumped 200 points.
Thank you. You actually give the names of things that I actually know. I can follow. A lot of ppl tells you everything that you shouldn't eat but never or hardly tells you what you should. Thank you.
One thing I've noticed is that if I eat keto during the week, it lowers my labido. So "carbig up" on Thursdays helps me to be more ready to go for the weekends
Try eating “FATTY” red meat like ribeye, brisket and chuck roast. Don’t eat lean protein or protein powders. Low carb-lean protein is not healthy. Eliminate all plants from diet. Keto is for those who deny their true nature which is CARNIVORE
I agree with many previous comments that the decline in men's testosterone is due to a lack of "cellular energy" brought on by the harmful side-effects of modern day lifestyles, diet, stress, toxins, hormones in our food, etc.
If you look up old ways of making bread (fresh every day) it had high protein ingredients like nuts and seeds, but yes I would agree today most if not all bread is unhealthy unless you are making it yourself or getting it from a specialty baker.
Thank you so much for the response. Once again. Thanks again for this video. Should be playing in grade 12 of every gym class for young men. This covered so many of the issues and solutions.
I bought my grandmothers flowers, my mother flowers, my girlfriends flowers, and when I was married I bought my wife flowers. I now think buying flowers is the WORST thing a man can do for a woman ! I think you are totally wrong on the flowers bit !
The term “normal levels” is part of the problem imo. Chances are that if your doctor will even test your testosterone, you are going to have normal levels. Normal levels is too broad. It’s more likely that a doctor will prescribe testosterone for a 10 year old girl than a 60 year old man.
So true. My husbands doctor didn’t even want to run the test (because he didn’t know what to prescribe if it came back low.) Once he finally acquiesced, Md only ordered Total Testosterone test instead of the panel with the more useful Free Testosterone measurement. Would have been easy peasy if he was a child jumping on the gender bend train.
Much needed information. A little fact, people on the areas that you mentioned with higher testosterone levels , it's because they can't afford processed meat and grow veggies and chickens at home , work more out doors due to poverty and less party culture and patriarchal type of society.
Any information available for men who has had their prostate removed due to prostate cancer? I know several men in this condition due to my work. How can they safely improve their testosterone levels - something they all need desperately. Thanks gor for this vital work.
Testosterone started dropping in the 1960's according to this video. Guess what else started happing at that time. That's right, the rise of feminism; where women started becoming more like men and men were influenced to become less like men and respect and honor for them when out the window.
Gloria Steinem was injected into the culture to pussify men through feminism and destroy traditional family life. Why? Communist subversion from within to capture the culture and wield power.
The pussifucation of young men continues on apparently. They either feminize to get social approval or buy an assault rifle and go commando in rebellion for being alienated… it’s all out of balance now. How tragic. I’m so lucky to have had the 70’s and 80’s to be young, without the pernicious social media monster dictating my every move.

Thanks Josh, appreciate your enthusiasm and clarify.
Absolutely anything you can do to move your body will help greatly. Do what you can, but do it.
Ashwaganda, Tonkat Ali, Macca,
Exercise, sunlight
Also vit d supps, avoid processed foods
Vitamin D is dependent on the person. The only way is to get it tested. I am 96kg low fat and taking 10000 iu per day is right for me. Make sure you get k2 with the Vitamin D. Zinc is helpful, as is greens, ginger, weight lifing and no alcohol.
Colored people have a higher risc of low vitamin d .
Over the top! Did helped me not only really discover what my ex did and didn't when we were together, also opened my eyes to what I did wrong. Thanks!
I cringe!!
Stop drinking alcohol
Wonderful explanation, thank you.
Thank you Dr. J. Everything you said was spot on! ❤️
Thanks so much for listening!
Women need the exact same things as men PLUS all the other things you said they need but until the last few years information like this was NOT on the internet blasted all over the place. UNFORTUNATELY too many men and women NEVER LEARN this critical information.
Excellent presentation, thank you !
Bill P.
i love your content!!!!!!!!
So glad to hear it! Thank you!!
Doc, I agree with you on all your points, except meat. I changed to a primarily carnivorous (non organic meat) diet about a year ago, with some dairy. After 6 months of this diet, my testosterone jumped 200 points.
Thanks, Doc. Males today need this info.
34:50 The low T guy fails and T drops even lower.
Awesome video - thank you!
I like your balanced approach, connecting nutrition, lifestyle and belief/ identity and family support to men’s health and wellbeing, great.
Very insightful presentation
Extremely interesting and very informative 👍 👌 👏
Thank you. You actually give the names of things that I actually know. I can follow.
A lot of ppl tells you everything that you shouldn't eat but never or hardly tells you what you should.
Thank you.
What's the best way to take zink ..or high zinc foods?
nuts
Raw or sprouted pumpkin seeds!!
Excellent advice.Key to avoiding toxic masculinity is having a balanced sense of righteousness, virtue.
Can we also start labeling toxic feminine women? Let’s focus on turning the tables as they have done to destroy men
I appreciate the advice,and knowledge
This sounds so great!!
Thanks a lot!
I'll go chopping wood!
I agree with many previous comments that the decline in men's testosterone is due to a lack of "cellular energy" brought on by the harmful side-effects of modern day lifestyles, diet, stress, toxins, hormones in our food, etc.
i never thought of dr axe as a "muscular" man who hunts. thought of him as a knowledgeable gentleman who shares his insights
Love your info Doc 😎💪🏽
This is an awesome video. My only criticism is that I must be lost on how many people recommend eating bread in any capacity. Isnt bread processed?
If you look up old ways of making bread (fresh every day) it had high protein ingredients like nuts and seeds, but yes I would agree today most if not all bread is unhealthy unless you are making it yourself or getting it from a specialty baker.
Thank you so much for the response. Once again. Thanks again for this video. Should be playing in grade 12 of every gym class for young men. This covered so many of the issues and solutions.
Great spiritual and health science information, thank you🙂
Chopping wood was George Foreman's exercise of choice. Forman won the Heavyweight championship at age 45.
I work for a Fertility center and the patients are getting younger and younger
One of the best podcasts I’ve ever listened to. Bravo!
Wow, what a fantastic episode!
I think it’s what we are eating and what our parents have been eating
I bought my grandmothers flowers, my mother flowers, my girlfriends flowers, and when I was married I bought my wife flowers. I now think buying flowers is the WORST thing a man can do for a woman ! I think you are totally wrong on the flowers bit !
You are right, I give a way flowers as much i can. Now im broke and slamming my balls I did onley once .
Depends on the woman
The term “normal levels” is part of the problem imo. Chances are that if your doctor will even test your testosterone, you are going to have normal levels. Normal levels is too broad. It’s more likely that a doctor will prescribe testosterone for a 10 year old girl than a 60 year old man.
So true. My husbands doctor didn’t even want to run the test (because he didn’t know what to prescribe if it came back low.)
Once he finally acquiesced, Md only ordered Total Testosterone test instead of the panel with the more useful Free Testosterone measurement.
Would have been easy peasy if he was a child jumping on the gender bend train.
If you’re growing facial hair, you have testosterone. That’s the test
Much needed information.
A little fact, people on the areas that you mentioned with higher testosterone levels , it's because they can't afford processed meat and grow veggies and chickens at home , work more out doors due to poverty and less party culture and patriarchal type of society.
Great information thanks for sharing 🙏
Old age.. Tough to get around that one
Age is only in your mind....think young...eat right, exercise❤
@@dr.bunnywilson8321I whole heartedly second that!
Thank you❤❤❤
Great video.. tanks. Any giod links for ashwaghana or shilijat supplements
More like 1969, actually
An unfortunate reality, yes.
Also the contraceptive pill; higher levels of estrogen in the water supply.
@Dr. Axe - Are you suggesting that BPA is in contact lenses or do you mean lenses of eyeglasses?
There are tiny micro particles of plastic flying in the air. It’s everywhere, food, water and yes even the air 😕 I’m guessing he is referring to the accumulation in our eyes.
Dr. Axe, what is the most reliable source for Shilajit?
