:p Keto is horrible. It's shown to eat at your muscles by 8% in the first month or so. Many report hair falling out, weakness, etc. Carbs are a form of energy, and it depends. Most people doing keto aren't vegan, and carbs mostly come from a vegan diet. Lmfao. Carbs are what grew our brain, according to science. Our bodies were designed for plant-based, according to the largest health studies, even with heating meat (which actual omnivores don't do). Dogs can have hundreds the times of bad cholesterol of humans, and be fine. Keto is retarded, and many fail on it for a reason. Many of the very best atheltes now are vegan, in various sports, including but not limited to weightlifting! Vegan for the planet, for health, for tastes, for ending world hunger, for the animals.
Would LOVE to hear you and Dr Gillett discuss menopause, what happens, what to do for it, and how to manage each of the symptoms naturally, if possible. That would be a GREAT podcast and so helpful to a forgotten group of women.

Agreed, they went into hormone replacement for men but what about woman?
Progesterone is the most important as that stops after menopause. Estrogen is still created in cells after menopause as it does with men too. It may show up low on blood tests but estrogen will store in cells. U can have similar amounts of estrogen stored in cells after menopause as circulating during your cycle. The estrogen unopposed by progesterone increases risk for cancer and other metabolic diseases. The estrogen industry is dubious and still runs the show funding all these studies touting the benefits of estrogen.

Love, love love that the impact on women was addressed in each issue, much appreciated. HRT for peri and post-menopause was not addressed, would love to hear an entire episode geared to this topic as there is so much conflicting information, including between MDs
Yes! I came to make a request that you do a podcast on menopause, what is really happening, and what women can do to manage the symptoms and the drop in estrogen. We're told that we should/shouldn't take HRT, that endurance cardio is bad, intense exercise is bad, but strength training is good, and weight gain is inevitable, and we can eat the right foods and symptoms will go away. Family doctors generally know very little, and few drs recommend topical estrogen. It's hard to wade through the false information to find things that are useful. Please help!
Yes! I agree, need more information on this. I use hrt for brain and heart health. But my Dr is conflicted.

I wish there were a channel like this devoted to women’s issues. My gynecologist refuses any HRT because of concerns over blood clots. The only thing she prescribed was vaginal estradiol cream for vaginal health, which worked very well. I don’t think sexual health is stressed for post-menopausal women, and it’s even more important because many women are in unhappy/unfulfilled relationships at that age.
@@dawnkeckley7502 The latest medical literature says that transdermal estrogen “does not significantly affect the risk” of clotting, whereas the oral estrogen route shows “excess” risk. It has to do with the fact that the oral version has to go through the liver.

I would love to see a podcast that is directed to peri and post-menopausal women and the role of HRT for symptom relief, overall quality of life issues (sleep, mood disturbance, ability to build and retain muscle mass, motivation, libido, clear-headedness) and what the 'real' optimal hormone levels are, as recorded in blood tests while on HRT (including estrogen/testosterone pellets). Love the podcasts and listen as often and as much as I can. Keep doing what you're doing!!

Totally agree! Would love to see Bruce on the podcast. Love his theory on the cell and the functions of the organelles within. Like the nucleus is actually the gonad (house the tools for reproduction) and the cell membrane is actually the brain (regulates cell function via selective permeability), just fascinating.

Please bring an episode on prefrontal cortex as it would be benificial for many people because it is the last part of the brain to completely develop and most affected by the environment and least affected by genes .
Most of the more severe illnesses happen to people by surprise, unexpectantly, impacting first in the brain, then in the corresponding organ which that part of the brain controls. The end of WWI had absolutely everything to do with the Flu and lung TB outbreak that occurred killing millions. In nature, the biological conflict linked with a territorial fear (just what it means-a fear in your territory, your home, your community, etc.) is a widening of the bronchia (tissue loss). Your body attempts to widen your bronchia in order to allow more air into your lungs to give you more strength and energy to fight to keep your territory safe. Stay with me.......The biological conflict linked with a death fright impacts the lungs. The lungs attempt to grow larger in order to allow more air in because breath equals life, as we all know. No breath equals death.
While you are in the fear or death fright conflict, you notice no symptoms of “disease”, except you have cold hands, cold feet, you can’t sleep, you awaken at 3 AM every night, you have little appetite. During the war, millions of people were in fear of the bombing of their homes and cities where the war was most active. Fearing for their lives, their loved ones in the war, their ability to survive. The food in the stores was sparse due to shortages. This lasted for 4 long years! The longer the conflict, the worse the healing phase. Within 2 weeks of the German Chancellor announcing the end of WWI, these millions of people ALL went into the healing phase all at the same time. It is during the healing phase that you experience symptoms of illness! What is the healing phase of the bronchia widening? Severe bronchitis, pneumonia. The body attempts to refill this lost tissue and you experience inflammation, fever, coughing, body aches, fatigue, etc. What is the healing phase of the extra lung tissue that grew? Decomposing of the tissue by TB bacteria and fungi. The symptoms of this healing phase are: severe coughing up of blood and tissue, fever, inflammation, severe mucous, body aches, fatigue. During this decomposing of the extra tissue (tumor), the body expels a lot of protein, and without replenishment, severe protein loss can result in death. Antibiotics did not exist yet. If TB bacteria does not exist in a person or they have been vaccinated against TB (big mistake), then the tumor will simply encapsulate and become dormant and not harm you. Who died during the Spanish Flu? Mainly the poor who could not afford to buy meat and proper nourishment, and the people who were directly impacted by the bombings and destruction of their homes.
Millions of people suffered fear and death frights during the fighting of WWI, and millions of people all went into healing at the end of it. Not everyone was affected because not everyone suffered the same way.
It’s not a “flu”, it’s not something you “catch”. It’s biological, meaningful, and unavoidable. One hundred years later, a Fear Campaign begins, using the media to spread it......

For me, it’s number 1 on any list. ✨The fun thing about Spirit, its that you can imagine it as whatever you want. When Ricky Gervais was on Stephan Colbert he was asked, “If God doesn’t bring you comfort, what does?” Ricky responded with, “Dogs. I believe in Dogs. Great podcast. It's refreshing to hear an expert who just brings the knowledge and quickly connects the concepts. As an over 60 male I would have been interested in his guidance on hormone replacement and optimization for older men , which didn't seem to be addressed.

This channel and all of these conversations represent the best of what RUclips can be and is currently. Imagine if such clear, high-quality information could be more mainstream and taken in by more people...so much improvement to our free-falling health and lifestyles and the USA and elsewhere.
1:13:00 I'd be highly skeptical about the studies that say one serving of alcohol a day is healthy. I've actually only heard this for red wine (you can get polyphenols elsewhere btw), but the reason being is that wine is an investment industry and thus, investors will fund specific studies that will put the product in a good light to increase sales. Studies that would counter them wouldn't receive as much funding.
It's like sunscreen. So many studies have been published saying how bad sunlight is for you, yet now we are seeing studies that show it's good for you (in moderation, obviously don't burn yourself). We also didn't get studies to see how sunscreen affects you and that's how we ended up with some that leech through your skin and are found in your blood.
I agree with you! Alcohol is toxic; it damages and kills cells and is the fifth leading cause of cancer. There may be benefits of polyphenols contained in red wine, but to recomend 'alcohol consumption' based on that is highly irresponsible.

Love this! Such a great way to start my week. Two comments:
1. Please do more on women and testosterone/BHRT supplementation. Nothing was mentioned re tissue strength and the benefit of thicker structures. It is so sad to hear my older female friends mention their broken skin, prolapsed uterus, stroke risks, etc which are all related to structural weaknesses (including muscle) that may be helped by testosterone.
2. It is so interesting to be watching the convergence of Traditional Medical theory, which integrates the mind, body, and spirit and uses more than the 6 pillars to diagnose and treat, over the last 10 years. (Joy and sexual activity is also included in addition to epigenetic/multi-generational foundations.) It might be interesting to get an MD/Ph.D type with a FULL TCM degree (none of this 10-day MD certificate wackiness, please!) to discuss the coming paradigm shift (somewhat described by Dr. Doug Wallace's work which extends mtDNA's role into engergetics) and how that new paradigm may solve many gaps in the marketplace resulting in lower cost, more effective treatments with higher protocol adherence.
I started bhrt a month ago. It's been life changing for me. It's trial and error when initially getting the doses correct. Positives for me; I gained back the weight I lost through muscle atrophy, skin issues cleared up, thicker & longer hair and more energy. The best part or the therapy is my confidence/personality is reimmersing. I pay out of pocket for the therapy.
@@bellakim9404 Yes! It is crazy that insurance doesn't cover BHRT yet will cover a myriad of psych meds to mask symptoms. I have a number of +50 yo female friends who now think they have a sleep disorder, depression, or manic issues and will need psych meds for the rest of their lives.

I was DX with PCOS in my early 20s in the 80s by a very brilliant doctor. Nobody knew what it was. What happens to PCOS after menopause? There is hardly any discussion about it.
I assume since all hormones drop I would assume the T drops go below normal

The more I learn about the body, the more blown away I am at the awesome Creator we have. Birth control pills DESTROYED my body. I am still having problems 3 yrs later. Something in my Spirit told me to just give my body what it needs (multivitamin, sun, healthy foods from the ground) and the body will heal. With that, I am getting better everyday 🙏🤍😊

I'm the lucky winner who got both PCOS eith insulin resistance and endometriosis--and then developed hypothyroidism. Annnd I develop blood clots with any exogenic estrogen (ie. birth control). So balancing my hormones has been a lifelong tight rope walk. People just have no idea how influential our hormones are until they aren't "normal". It's so nice to see people talking more about this. For over a decade, I was seeking answers that no one seemed to have. Now I have a hormone specialist and it's a game changer! Thank you for continuing to make information accessible to every-day people!
Yes I agree! Sounds alot like me! Birth control RUINED me. When i was on it, i was fine. I stopped taking it and I'm STILL experiencing problems 3 yrs later. I'm currently trying to find a good doctor who can help me. 😔💔
Hopefully these endocrinologists know that estrogen stores in cells. After menopause u can have the same amount of estrogen in the body as u had during cycle but won’t be found in blood tests. Estrogen HRT is nefarious to say the least. Progesterone detoxes estrogen from your cells. Progesterone and thyroid are a very helpful therapy after menopause

I do intermittent fasting almost everyday. My reason: I can not stop eating once I put one piece of any food into my mouth. I literally eat and eat and eat nonstop. And if I resist myself from eating I feel really bad physically, as if something inside my stomach and my abdomen is wrong. And if I do not resist myself from eating (and I don’t, cos I can not resist food) I feel worse and worse with each bite cos I just stuff myself with food nonstop. So whatever I do the end result is horrible. And my anxiety starts to build up. If I intermittent fast until 4-5 p.m. two things happen: physically I feel amazing and the clarity of mind is unbelievable. I’m not hungry at all, I don’t need food at all. I’m full of energy and my anxiety is nonexistent. When I start to eat I don’t stop anymore but cos it’s late in the day I eat much less cos not much time is left in the day. And for some reason I don’t feel physically as bad as if I start to eat earlier, actually most days I don’t really feel bad even though I eat if I start eating late. I’m very slim, I think I categorize for American size zero, 53 years old. So for me - if I want to feel good I need to avoid eating food for as long as possible. Does anyone else have this kind of problem? Once you put a piece of something into your mouth you just eat and eat all the time?

@@westcoastswingmusic why do you assume I did not seek professional doctor? I’ve been “seeking” their help for all of my life. I was taking antidepressants and some tranquilizers for ten years only to find out that magnesium salts calm my thoughts down much more successfully without being sedated and only to find out that diet cures my depression whereas antidepressants only keep my depression at bay but never cures it. And those were not the only medicine prescribed to me. I was feeling worse and worse every day and needing more and more medical help. I’m off everything now and feeling better than ever. My anxiety only comes back a little bit when I eat wrong food but with the help of tools dr. Huberman provides I overcome it almost instantly.
As for my illnesses- I have never been breastfed and was on superficial milk from day one and for what I’ve learnt that is probably the reason for my illnesses - messed up gut bacteria. And what do professional doctors know about gut bacteria? Zero ☺️
You don’t get real impression of a person from a youtube comment, in real life people are quite shocked about my youthful appearance and athletic figure and overall health. People of my age literally think I’m much younger than them. What I mean to say is that I’m not in a poor condition and struggling from day to day, quite contrary ☺️
I had this same problem for years. Was so much easier to simply eat nothing than to eat something and try and stop. I literally couldn't. I could eat for hours no matter how full I felt. I believe it was triggered by yo yo dieting and food obsession. I think the constant changes in my weight caused my appetite to surge out of control as though I was high all the time with the munches (I wasn't). Looking back I feel it was hormonal imbalance of grehlin and leptin (hunger and satiety hormones). If I could get in my time machine I'd go to an endocrinologist to have this checked out. For me personally though the ONLY thing that got me off this track was to stop absurd restrictive diets that only worked temporarily and then turned me into an eating machine.

I like this man a lot. He emphasises the importance of spiritual health. It’s difficult to find medical practitioners who do.
Most of the more severe illnesses happen to people by surprise, unexpectantly, impacting first in the brain, then in the corresponding organ which that part of the brain controls. The end of WWI had absolutely everything to do with the Flu and lung TB outbreak that occurred killing millions. In nature, the biological conflict linked with a territorial fear (just what it means-a fear in your territory, your home, your community, etc.) is a widening of the bronchia (tissue loss). Your body attempts to widen your bronchia in order to allow more air into your lungs to give you more strength and energy to fight to keep your territory safe. Stay with me.......The biological conflict linked with a death fright impacts the lungs. The lungs attempt to grow larger in order to allow more air in because breath equals life, as we all know. No breath equals death.
While you are in the fear or death fright conflict, you notice no symptoms of “disease”, except you have cold hands, cold feet, you can’t sleep, you awaken at 3 AM every night, you have little appetite. During the war, millions of people were in fear of the bombing of their homes and cities where the war was most active. Fearing for their lives, their loved ones in the war, their ability to survive. The food in the stores was sparse due to shortages. This lasted for 4 long years! The longer the conflict, the worse the healing phase. Within 2 weeks of the German Chancellor announcing the end of WWI, these millions of people ALL went into the healing phase all at the same time. It is during the healing phase that you experience symptoms of illness! What is the healing phase of the bronchia widening? Severe bronchitis, pneumonia. The body attempts to refill this lost tissue and you experience inflammation, fever, coughing, body aches, fatigue, etc. What is the healing phase of the extra lung tissue that grew? Decomposing of the tissue by TB bacteria and fungi. The symptoms of this healing phase are: severe coughing up of blood and tissue, fever, inflammation, severe mucous, body aches, fatigue. During this decomposing of the extra tissue (tumor), the body expels a lot of protein, and without replenishment, severe protein loss can result in death. Antibiotics did not exist yet. If TB bacteria does not exist in a person or they have been vaccinated against TB (big mistake), then the tumor will simply encapsulate and become dormant and not harm you. Who died during the Spanish Flu? Mainly the poor who could not afford to buy meat and proper nourishment, and the people who were directly impacted by the bombings and destruction of their homes.
Millions of people suffered fear and death frights during the fighting of WWI, and millions of people all went into healing at the end of it. Not everyone was affected because not everyone suffered the same way.
It’s not a “flu”, it’s not something you “catch”. It’s biological, meaningful, and unavoidable. One hundred years later, a Fear Campaign begins, using the media to spread it......

Agree; I use whole turmeric root and freshly ground pepper every day for the health benefits and flavor. Hopefully the negative effects are limited to supplements, not the whole food version.
Oh same here. Use tumeric for all sorts. Food first and foremost. Also use it, when I have a cough and apply to cuts. Hopefully, usage such as this doesn't have too much of a negative impact on the body and DHT levels.🤔

One thing that confused me a little, the doctor said that DHT inhibitors like finasteride are good for Heart health and prostate health, but Hiberman kept insisting on the negative effects of it and turmeric, like he interpreted what the doctor said as negative..
. I’ve been taking finasteride for almost months and it would be very useful to get more insights on how to keep optimal libido while taking oral finasteride.

I suspected as much. I didn’t listen, only skimmed the transcript and found only partial answers related to women’s hormone health. As much as I have valued many of Dr. Huberman’s episodes, I’m really not convinced he would know what to ask a guest about anything related to women’s health. He’s revealed himself to be incredibly limited in this domain. I do appreciate the attempt here, though. He’s recently indicated that he lives with a woman so I guess we hold out hope that he has an interest in her wellbeing and maybe that will eventually translate to his podcast? Until then, if it helps, I’ve recently come across interviews with Dr. Arti Thangudu (triple board certified endocrinologist) and Dr. Tara Scott (triple board certified OBGYN, regenerative medicine, menopause specialist) that have been most insightful. If you can recommend anyone else, do let us know. Take care.

Her book “The XX Brain” is aces. Her most recent study is on estrogen exposure and dementia risk (Jett et al., 2022; Frontiers in Aging Neuroscience, open access). And her study published last year on how menopause impacts the brain was most elucidative. (Nature Scientific Reports, also open access). Take care. The recommendation from doctors to drink wine is terribly flawed though, even though it supposedly has research to back it up. Drinking alcohol is BAD for you. Case closed. I wish doctors would stop saying otherwise.
