Just a quick question- as a (mainly) vegetarian for ethical reasons, what are the reasons why you would not recommend vegetarianism for children and young adults? What aspects of animal based, and especially meat-based proteins that make a vegetarian diet rich in protein, so inferior compared to a diet with more meat? Thanks for the very interesting discussion.

Yes please do a whole episode on DHT & Testosterone, and Hairloss prevention & treatment. I noticed my hair started thinning in my late 20's and now in my early 30's but don't want to use the treatments due to potential side effects. A few years ago I also took creatine for only a month to help weight training but stopped out of the fear of increased DHT, though Dr. Gillett says it should be OK. I probably have a genetic DHT sensitivity. Hope the new SCUBE3 treatment testing is successful and becomes available to purchase.

I just want to mention a life changing finding I had last year. My whole life since I was a teenager I felt something was just a tiny bit off. Low libido (still some but it only came on every few days) low motivation, kind of weak for my size.
Long story short I always assumed it was low T but I tested right in the middle of the normal range multiple times. I was doing the testing through my PCP who was reluctant and literally only ordered circulating testosterone be checked.
After some time I got curious again and did an expensive (to me) full hormone panel.
It was low estrogen. My whole fucking life. Figuring out how to balance my hormones with a clinic has made me finally feel normal.
I wish we talked more and and more about estrogen in males. I never would have dreamed. It gave me all the things people think taking testosterone will do.
I can’t imagine the complexities of human sexual health and hormonal health but I do know most peoples perception of it is outdated.

Would love to hear more about your thoughts on micro plastics and their impact on male hormones. I think that this is a major contributing factor in the decline of testosterone levels. Surely not a coincidence that testosterone levels started dropping inline with our increased use of plastics and their pollution in the environment. It is known that micro plastics impact fertility.

Semen retention is reported to be something that was practiced (probably unknowingly for hormonal effects) and is thousands of years old, I would love to hear a segment on this practice.

As a young guy in his early 20s, noticing rapid signs of hair loss left me no choice but to hop on the finasteride bandwagon lol its really hard to find genuine info over the topic of inhibiting DHT and its short and long term effects, plus there's the placebo discussion that comes with it as well. Personally i havent experienced any loss of libido but my motivation has been a rollercoaster ever since i start the drug. Idk if its because of the the drug specifically or my specific lifestyle habits, BUT I WOULD LOVE to hear Dr. Gillett and Dr. Huberman discuss more on this topic.

Enclomiphene is not the same as Clomid, which is estrogenic and is responsible for the majority of issues like the ocular effects, which have never been documented with enclomiphene. Enclomiphene's side effects are rare (1-3%), mild (headaches, dizziness, nausea), and reversible. Enclomiphene is also the most potent SERM for testosterone boosting, increasing Free T levels by 1.5-2.5X. SERMs have been safely used in multi-year studies and are absolutely used long-term in clinical practice. Check out Maximus Tribe for more info on this superior approach to TRT.

Dr. Kyle Gillett, Dr. Huberman, Definitely DEFINITELY do a full episode on DHT, finasteride oral tablets,
and if the negative effects of finasteride,
such as lack of vitality, depression, lack of vigor and general malaise, depression, can be offset by a supplement, without interrupting the positive effects of finasteride oral.
I only recently started taking 800 mg of tongkat Ali, and I noticed a fast improvement in energy and mood. I've taken finasteride oral for about 12 years now. A quarter of a 5mg tablet daily
I have worked on offsetting the negative effects by jogging, diet, sobriety, caffeine (too much at time), and now recently tongkat Ali,
for awhile I was using alcohol and other drugs to offset the negative mood, but have long since stopped that.
Though finasteride did stop hair loss I did notice a less motivated mood for the entirety of the prescription, a depression in the mornings, inability to execute activities and plans, probably negative effects from vitality that I don't see.
But I'm curious, will tongkat just replace the DHT that the finasteride is disrupting, and therefore basically cancel each other out? And in that case I'd just be better off quitting both.
I'm also concerned if there are long term effects of tongkat, where if I quit, I will produce less testosterone than I would have before I started taking tongkat? that's scary to me. Because, up till now, if I stop finasteride, I within a day or two notice full recovery of vitality, sex drive, motivation, energy, vigor,
so I don't want to take something, that erases my natural testosterone and hormones,
but I do want to keep my hair, and I do want to offset the finasteride negative effects
thanks Docs, try to post something very very soon. Dr. Hubberman, Ive been hoping you'd discuss finasteride for a long time now, I'm glad you broached the topic. I watched this video with Dr Gillett 5 times now, and finally made it to the end where you mentioned finasteride, and that was a huge treat. I'd love for you to get into it deeper. Thanks guys.

Thank you for your replies. I appreciate it!
what I didn't mentioned but could be interesting in this context is, that I had an undescendent testicle (one sided) as a child and got surgery when i was 5 years old.
Because of that i went a few years ago to my urologist, he made a spermiogram. My total sperm count was about 3 mill with many degnerativ sperms. After taking CoenzymQ10 back then for the first time and testing 3 months later, besides my T level going up to 680 points, the total sperm count increased from 3 Million to 12 million with 30 percent high motility sperms.
The doc was also surprised and told me, that this increase in a short period of time of 3 months is insane, everything is now total fine.
I might, as you said @dr.gillet respond very good to Q10. Maybe it gives a good performance boost to my ledyig cells, which may be in lower total count due to testicular damage in childhood. Very interesting topic. If you guys have any advices for the future, like actions I might take, or supps or testings, I would be greatful. Besides Q10, i take D3, K2, Bor, Omega 3 and magnesium.
      Have a nice day!
