The Ultimate Deep Squats Hack

  • “Dunphy Squat Hold
    I like to add this challenge to Dunphy squats when working on obtaining and owning a deep squat. The Dunphy squat (if you’re new to this, check my post from last week for the breakdown) puts you in a passive range, meaning that you need assistance getting into that deep squat. The goal is to eventually do a deep squat on your own without the stick, so you’re going to slowly remove the assistance and attempt to hold the deep squat!
    It’s normal at first to have to come up out of your squat a little in order to not fall over as you bring the stick down.
    There are a lot of joints involved in a squat, so the emphasis is placed on the particular joint you’re working on in your current program or on that day.
