    Hi team,
    I was suffering from ql muscle pain on my right side. I have watched more than 100 videos for the stretching and strengthening of muscle but this stretch has saved me. Thanks a ton team...!!!

    This stretch, along with the hip-flexor stretch and the slap-shot windmill ones you offered, are not just good but potentially life changing. Like Justin, I once (actually several times) tweaked my back doing a deadlift, in my case a hex bar dead. Did one set of 8, no problem; then the first rep on the next set I felt something pull on one side of my low back. I didn't know what the problem was, but maybe, as in Justin's case, it was the QL. Fortunately, mine stopped hurting, in several cases, in a couple of weeks, and in another instance in a couple of months without medical intervention. I love these stick mobility moves. Learned a windmill version from Nick Tumminello where the stick is on your shoulders, feet are close together with one overlapping the other, and you twist inside of the (slightly) forward knee. Your version, where the stick is behind your back, may be even better. I'm taking these three moves with me to the gym today. Thanks!

    this is on my must try list. I think that this might be a part of what I am trying to correct with the over flexion of my lumbar spine

    Doing this stretch today opened up my back in a way I have been struggling to do for months - even after many physio sessions. QL was clamping down HARD... I feel like I can breathe again.

    Wow! Looks like a great stretch. But i have no idea where to obtain a flexible stick like.
    Looks like you are stretching your hip flexer too

      You can also use a PVC pipe -- either 1 inch for more rigidity and a
      diameter similar to the orange stick, or 3/4 inch for more flexibility
      (but less rigidity). Cut it to about 5.5 or 6 feet. Cost you under $3 from any hardware store.

    unfortunately that's not where the QL sits. That's primarliy a lat and oblique stretch.

    • @tawkinhedz
      @tawkinhedz 6 лет назад +1

      C Astor false, ql connects at bottom of ribs, so this lateral motion opening against the anterior pelciv tilt is tearing up the ql. Basically move the thoracic away from the lumbar. If you want more of a stretch instead of opening the chest so much suck in the belly button and don't forget deep breaths
