    I remember when I first started doing movements like these... it was weird, it felt strange, where was the barbell and dumbbells? But it also felt oh so natural, and oh so good. The more I did them the more freedom I felt in my mind and body. That was enough convincing for me.... but here's some reasons why I chose these 5...
    Hinge to Sieza - Opening up hip hinge, forward fold, squat, and deep knee and ankle flexion. Great warmup
    Crawl Switch Under - Crawl position lights up the core muscles, to smoothly transition from front to back takes massive contralateral strength from hips and shoulders
    Cartwheel - Side bending and Hand support (Handstand), spacial awareness, challenging from the squat
    Roll - Ability to fold the spine and yield to the ground. Much harder than it looks.
    Bear Walk - Contralateral Pattern while opening thoracic extension, shoulder flexion, AND hamstring flexibility
    Those are all the more technical aspects but all in all these are varied movement patterns that help us maintain our human beingness 🤪

  • @IsaacMorgan98
    @IsaacMorgan98 4 года назад +104

    3:16, I think it means a lot that the kid is skipping through the woods having a blast and loving it where the dad is simply walking, a little slumped, slower than his kid.
    As you grow you loose that playfulness if not practiced, that playfulnes allows for something a lot of adults are missing in a western world. Everyone is so intent of finding happiness that they forget that happiness is a byproduct and not something you can pursue, fun comes with happiness as a side effect.
    Fun ladies and gentlemen and for me the most fun is found in exploration, finding new environments, finding new things your body can do, creating games. People need more fun.

    Stumbled across this just over a year ago and fell in love with the grace and beauty and knew I needed some for myself. I’ve been playing and having fun with movement everyday since and it has been transformational. I ‘accidentally’ got a 6 pack just from playing about with moves and messing about with my kids. My wife comments on how my body has changed - broader and defined muscles on the shoulders and tummy and even my neighbour had a double-take seeing me hanging from the climbing frame but it’s not about the ego or the ‘look’, it’s about the thoughtful, calm presence I experience whenever I stretch and move now. It’s almost instant, so rewarding, so stress-relieving and so sustainable. Josh, I’m in your debt man you have given me a new whole way of being. Love you for that. Bless.

The production values are superb...the content even moreso. 'Getting older'/'aging' is a battle you need to be prepared to fight. (Apologies for the harsh framing.) Maybe the most important element of preparing for this battle is mobility. (Especially vital past the age of 50.) You're providing an amazing resource here. I have been performing barbell training for years and felt like something was missing from my training as I would complain on the way home from the gym with my significant other.
    I remember mentioning to her one day I wish I could harness what I had as a child. The vibrant energy and athletic ability I was able to perform things as a 10 year old boy with a lean strong frame for that age.
    This is how I remember. These movements you just performed are so child like, and I mean that in all due respect. These are about as natural and PRIMAL as you can get. Something innate within us all that we forget about over the years. The movements we performed naturally as a child. Thanks. Looking forward to seeing more of your content.

    1st - you have incredibly beautiful body, like male version of Zuzka Light, ancient greek kind of ideal.
    2nd - these movements look so delightfuly natural and just right. Often when I see someone doing yoga or similar, they look unnatural, like they are doing something the body is not supposed to do, or like machines trying to look human. You look like this is what the body is meant to be, this is how it was designed to function. And somehow, I can sense that these movements were not memorized, that you move by the feeling, or better by being the movement. Gorgeous, I subscribe to see more.

    Your exercises are excellent; simple, manageable (even for a stiff 55 year old who has spent far too much time being sedentary) and yet extremely powerful and far reaching in the range of muscles they target. Best feeling movements I have felt outside of the Ashtanga yoga that I used to be devoted to (yes I fell off the path and became lazy).

Ive recently been trying to get more into 'yoga' moves as balanace, mobility, strength are moving their way up my concern. Im 31 and always largely exercised and walked absolutely everywhere however this is repetition based on very few movements. I love this space youve built and as an artist and dance enthusiast! (Wanted to be a dancer when i was younger lol) this really inspires more than just me wanting to utilise my body but also my artist side that just wants to paint and draw people all the time. Thanks for sharing your journey and inspiring all sides of my brain
