I LOVE my G3C. I have many pistols, different brands and for different purposes. I rotate my G3C and my shield plus mostly for my EDC. Don’t get me wrong, the shield plus is a knockout of a pistol, and I appreciate the legacy brand of S&W. But there is just something about my G3C. I shoot it more accurately than most of my pistols, I find it more comfortable. It’s just right for me (not saying it will be for everyone). I am 6’3” with big hands, and the G3C is just so comfortable for me. Has never failed me once at a couple thousand rounds. I upgraded the barrel to a black barrel from the Taurus website, have a rubberized talon grip, and use a Crossbreed Reckoning holster. It is my perfect rig. Again, maybe not for everyone, but ideal for me.

I'm only 5'6...I'm a guy....SHUDDUP....but I have the same opinion of it, its just super comfortable, has never failed on me, and I'm accurate with it. I try to make myself like more expensive stuff because I feel like I'm supposed to for some reason, but I always think to myself, "ehh, I like my g3c better...."

@@spnfirearms I have it, too. The grip is not quite as aggressive, it has a loaded chamber indicator (I like them...), and the slide isn't as tight (has just a little looseness to it that is noticeable when you get the g3c), and the trigger has a thinner safety strip or whatever in the middle of it that sticks out (g3c trigger looks...is....more solid)...but I also love my pt111 g2. No issues out of it at all.

Very few guns I would suggest over the G series Taurus handgun (S&W, Glock, Ruger) 1. If you had the money you just wanted to spend 2. If you did not care for a manual safety 3. Wanted a american firearm with a nicer finish, but other than that these series of guns is the best thing out there is no competition for the price a lot of hate comes from gun snobs who think price is equivalent to product SIGp365 had it's issues, Canik mete mc9 had it's issues, PSA dagger had it's issues all of which someone would still suggest over Taurus because of "name brand and cost" Everything is a glock clone nowadays any way and if I ever spend $500 on any handgun it better be the real thing till then I'll take my glock clone that does the same for half the price. Thanks for doing the video SPN and wishing your channel keeps growing.

  • @DougZ73

So I just picked up my G3C yesterday, after the mandatory three day waiting period. Of course, I took it right to the range last night after work. I also own a Sig P322, and a Canik TP9SF. Those two are great firearms, but neither something I wanted to use for a concealed carry/EDC. I also own a Taurus 605 revolver( 38 sp/357) that was given to me from a family member.
I bought the G3C after contemplating many options for a carry firearm. It coming with three magazines from the factory, AND the current $30 rebate from Taurus, year end, made me decide to purchase it. As well as how it felt and it's size.
I ran 100 rounds ( Winchester 115 grain target) through the G3C. Luckily, no FTF or FTE issues. I was honestly worried for the potentially being there.
I will say the first thing that took me off guard was how hard the mags were to load, especially when compared to the Sig and Canik mags. I am hoping that the springs soften up a bit after putting more rounds through them. Also a little bummed that they did not come with a factory loader assist like the Sig and Canik came with.
The gun fired really well and again no issues with that. Overall, it did not "feel" as nice as my other two firearms. Not bad. just not as good as finished and refined, That may just be the matter of comparing to $400 plus guns to a $250 gun. So long as it keeps firing OK at the range, I will feel comfortable to start carrying it as an EDC.
The last and final issue I had, is that, for me, it shot drastically low and to the left on the targets. The sights are supposed to be set from the factory, so not sure why that was. I might think it was me, but I do not shoot that far off with my other pistols, so perplexing. Might have something to do with the extremely long trigger pull, until it comes up on the wall. Not sure. What are your thoughts, since you own a good amount of Taurus G series pistols?
And don't get me wrong, I like this firearm, for what it is and all of its features. I am just hoping it smooths out after I get more rounds through it and break it in further.

I have owned several guns over the years but due to some (by "some" I really mean "a small fortune") in medical expenses and had to sell them. Finally felt like I could buy one again and after doing a little research, I decided on the G3C which was selling for $269 in most places. Cabelas ended up price-matching a sale price and I picked it up for $198.06! I owned an Sig P365 and while that was a bit smaller, I don't feel like the G3C is inferior despite being less than half the cost. It is now my EDC and I have complete confidence in it and that it will due the job if I ever have to use it. I think you made a wise decision and that you'll be happy owning your G3C for years to come. Just be aware that guns can be addictive. You may find yourself wanting a full size for home defense, maybe a shotgun at some point or a .22 for plinking or visiting the gun range and spending a lot less money. I speak from experience and would not want to talk you out of any of those - just letting you know you have opened that door now that you are a gun owner. Congrats on the purchase - even though I know you made it several months ago. Hope you still enjoy the G3C now that you've had it a while.

Great info there that I was not aware of regarding Sig employees going over to Taurus to design the G series…..I own the G2C and love that gun….I’ve got about 1000 rounds through it with no failures and the trigger seems to have gotten better over time…I’ve considered buying a G3C due to it’s improved sights and trigger for just a little more money…..But they are the same size so I was considering the Toro since it is a smaller pistol….Then I read about some of them firing when dropped? I will probably hold off a while and just go with my G2C for now….In the summer I carry a Ruger LCP MAX in the front pocket of my shorts…Nice 380 but a bit challenging to master for me outside of 5 yards at the range….Hopefully I will never have to find outside the range…..

This was the first pistol I bought I have 3 Taurus guns 2 revolvers and a g3c I think I paid 279 or 289? For the stainless slide which doesn’t show holster wear as much. Anyways this is a great little pistol it’s been 100 percent reliable with fmj and hollow points atleast the sig v crowns I carry anyways a few others tried also but it eats everything. It feels really good in the hand you get a lot of pistol for the money. I have more expensive guns that are from what you would call more reputable manufacturers but I can’t justify switching from the g3c as my edc it works it’s a great size pistol small enough we’re I can wear it all day but it’s big enough in the hand to shoot it comfortably. And it comes with 3 mags as said in the video good quality mags that’s a real plus. All 3 of my Taurus’s are newer made all with in the last couple years so I can’t speak to the past but it seems like they worked out the bugs and have really upped there game.

For the single mom who comes in and just wants to have something in the house to defend herself, I think the Taurus G3C or G2C is perfect. For the person who comes in and says they want to buy their first gun for primarily recreational shooting and to maybe build a collection, they might want to go with something else.

They're still mostly made in Brazil. The Bainbridge stamp is on all their US market guns. The only ones they manufacture in the US are the ones they can't legally import. Mostly the guns without the manual safeties.
I suspect they import incomplete/80% firearm frames into the US and only do finish milling for their true US manufactured guns.

Picked up a couple of these at Vance Outdoors on sale for Buck 99 each. Only came with 2 magazines each though. They were also dry as a bone, and I put oil and CLP all over and in the internals. Haven't shot them yet, but ran function checks after disassembly and lube. Everything seems good. I'll submit a review if they suck.

Just wondering, have you shot them yet and if so, how is it running?

    • @TafferBoyElvis
      @TafferBoyElvis 5 месяцев назад +2

@@NathanRich-v8v Took both of them out separately and they ran flawless. I really like the ergonomics of them. I have medium sized hands and the thumb rests are in the right spot for me. I've seen reviews where people say don't rest your thumb there while shooting, but I think those people probably have large sized hands. The recoil is decent because of the weight of the slide. Triggers are decent, but a little mushy on take up. Almost feels like a double action revolver pull. The reset and next pull are great feeling. Sights seemed decent, but I think a red dot optic might yield better accuracy. Overall, I'd rate these as 9.5/10.

It’s not about it being cheap or expensive a good firearm is a good firearm period rather you got alot of money or not it’s a good grab period. I’ve put 250+ on upgrades and new parts for the G3c and can say regardless of the price I would still grab because it’s a great dependable gun

Do you think the silver stainless steel slide option is better for getting around the the black finish issues, how it easily starts to get scratched and worn looking. Maybe the silver slide holds up better?

I know many gun smiths and gun store owners. The most returned are Taurus’s and kimbers. Glocks are possibly the most accidentally fired because they are the most popular handgun out there. But I haven’t seen any evidence that says that’s true. I would have to see where that data came from. Respect and thanks for the support!

Taurus been having recall issues since 1997 which is still happening in 2024 with some of the GX4 pistols. Their quality hasn't really gotten much better, there's many negative videos on RUclips on the Taurus 3c pistols and other Taurus firearms. Rather buy a SAR or Canik their quality are much better. Bought my first Taurus in 1985 and they were garbage than, has they gotten better? Yes, but there's still a lot of room for improvement.

I'm on board with it being budget, but honestly you can get m&p shield plus for 399 so 250-300 isn't too "budget" either way I have a g2c and several glocks and m&p I prefer the g2c over them

Is that a removable fire control action and you can put into a larger frame like Sig 320 and IWI Masada? I see the ser# is in a recessed window and not on the pistol frame itself.
