I have a pretty big collection, but I love the G2C in 40 SW. Perfect size! 10+1 capacity! The Sheild has 6 or 7 w/extension. Plus, it's slightly thicker and handles recoil a lot better. I use a Techniclip instead of a holster so I appreciate the thumb safety as well.
After about 1k rounds, my G3c rear sight was drifting. A little blue locktite and no further issues. Great pistol for the price. Like it so much I bought a TX22.
I like Taurus guns, still own a fee of them. When I first got the G2 I thought the trigger was broke at first 😅. But I got used to it and it was a damn good pistol. Never malfunction with any ammo, even steal case. I have Sigs, S&W, etc. but I carry my Taurus 605 revolver most times
G3C is a winner. Carry the Shield mainly, but the G3C is no less capable. They were just selling them at Cabelas for $229. Talk about a steal. Bought mine a way back for $279. Best buy I ever made in a pistol.
I have a G3C and the only problem I have is loading rounds into the magazine. The first 7 go in easily however the last 5 are very difficult to put in because the spring is very strong. I use a loadings tool, that makes it easier.
Just snagged one for 195 bucks plus it comes with 30 dollar rebate so when all is said and done around 200 after shipping and transfer. It's my second one, super reliable and has second strike. Great little gun.
@Drizo41 I have the G2c also. Its a great pistol. 600 rounds later of all kinds of ammo and still flawless and its accurate. Not bad for around a $200 pistol in 2018. It was a great tax refund buy. Never had any problems with the sights but I did thread lock the rear sight screws since it is metal screws on plastic that could work loose with wear.
I have recently purchased a new G3C from Bass Pro for $249. I loved the glove like fit to my hand, plus the inexpensive price lured me to this purchase. The first 50 rounds were enjoyable, with only one light strike. The next trip to the range resulted in 100% light strikes with CCI Blazer 124g and Remington 115g factory ammo, plus variations of my home loadings with Winchester and CCI primers, set at .002" below case head surface. All rounds fired with my friends Star Model 30, without glitches. I replaced the factory plastic striker assy. with the Lakeline LLC steel striker, with no improvements of light strikes. I then installed a Wolf Spring, Glock 15 1/2lb striker spring and resolved all light strikes, but did increase trigger pull. I then installed a M*Carbo trigger kit, with small improvements, but striker spring still at OEM 14lbb and light strikes. The barrel was scuffed more than should be for brand new, so I ordered a factory Taurus Black Barrel for $59 that improved lock-up and accuracy by about 50%, with Zero scuffing or shiney contact areas. Both magazines included were equipped with every employees fingerprints and smudges, the internals of the pistol were fouled and filthy from many test firings. In the end, I installed a Keep Tinkering flat face, SAO trigger for my preference and the result of 45% pre-travel eliminated, losing the trigger safety and double strike capability, again for my personal preference and 1911 habits. Final addition was a set of TruGlo fiber optic sights. Now I have a dependable, accurate, reliable pistol for carry piece, compared to the "Monday Gun" I received upon purchase. For the warranty/service topic; No, I didn't forget to call Taurus, plus send pictures upon initial purchase. My replies from Taurus were totally worthless, and failed to address the light strike, or wear issues. Thank goodness I am a life-long retired machinist, business owner, and federally licensed firearms sales and ammunition manufacturer, and simply smart enough to realize lacking of quality control. This is not to say all Taurus products are such; for I have a TX22 pistol that is flawless, other than feeding of certain truncated cone ammo. Taurus is a Budget manufacturer, so my expectations were not as would have compared to the Smith M&P or SIG 365; simply didn't expect such a gross negligence of product function.
First off I belive everything you have just told me. Nobody would have taken this much time to explain a fabricated story. With that being said you are the very first person I have heard of that had any significant reliability issues. I belive you have yourself a lemon and it happens. I just recently bought a 2023 Honda Civic which turned put to be a lemon. That is unheard of. They made it right. I am sorry to hear about your misfortune

I own Taurus G3C in the matte stainless finish (it seems to show less wear), and I also own Glock 19 and Glock 45 both Gen 5 pistols. Most of the differences I notice are the finish. I’m also fairly certain the Taurus barrels are cast while Glock uses cold hammer forged barrels. The finish on Glocks are better by far, but Taurus reliability has been great. If you’re on a budget and like the striker fired platform these Taurus pistols are a great option.
I have the G3 and the G3c and they are inexpensive guns but not cheaply made by any means, surely they can last 10,000+ rounds with proper cleaning and maintenance. and the tennifer finish on top may discolor and get a scratch or two but thats no big deal at all, These are excellent firearms that shoot great and will last as long as any glock or other name brands
Bought 3 of these at Rural King for $179. One for myself and 2 for gifts. This is a super nice gun for the money. I have the Springfield Armory Hellcat in Tungsten color and the Taurus is ever bit as good for almost 1/3 the cost.
@@TerryBenton I have. What many people respond with is polish everything and run 500-1,000 fmj through it to break it in. I replied…or buy an Sig p365 and save the time and money. I did send it back to Taurus. They ran 30 rounds of fmj through it and said it met their requirements. ☹️
I would put the G3C in in the Glock 26 category... The full size G3 is literally the same size as the Glock 19... And also offers a 17 rd magazine... Giving a Glock 45 kind of feel... Really great guns for the money.
Here's a hint - if you are law enforcement, OR security, they will default you to the G3C without the thumb safety. Got mine about a month ago, put 200 rounds through it so far, no jams, misfires or any type of failure. My current EDC.
Picked up a new g3c yesterday with no thumb safety went to range today with fmj jhp and frangable Ammo ate it all no issues picked it up for 291 out the door so far love it so far all my Taurus are great guns like them better than my sig p365. I have the g2c the g3 the g2s a spectrum and now the g3c all reliable
I had the Taurus G3 My first gun ❤ I have sig p320 m18 (Isn’t my favorite) I replaced the extractor, many malfunctions which Ammo (magteck ) steel case
@lucianoOliveira-fd9wu the sig is a good gun but I think your taurus is every bit as good if not better. Im your case it is better!!! Thank you for watching
I would say that my G3C is better than a Glock because I like the grip angle better than a Glock. I think the grip angle on the G3C is closer to Smith & Wesson and Sig. I may have shot close to 2,000 rounds through it and I have NEVER had a problem. Love it. I split my pocket cary between my G3C and my Sig P365. I trust both 100%. The biggest thing for me is that the G3C just feels good in my hands and I can shoot it good. Thanks for the video.
I have the G3 and I know he said it takes Glock sights but exactly which Glock sights ? Because I want to get night sights and i don’t know which Glock sight model the Taurus G3 takes
I have one of these and can say it has a lot going for it over Glock IMO lol nicer magazines, better stippling, better trigger, metal sights, less flimsy slide release, steel mag release, and believe it or not stiffer polymer lol I can visibly watch the grip of my Glock 20 flex when I squeeze it without a magazine inserted and the rail up front on the Glock is also flimsy flexible 😂
Glocks do what they do, but they are not as awesome as people make them out to be. This gun is proof that people are paying for the name. Thanks for watching
@@TerryBenton Glock mags have a polymer shell, but the internal piece which is the actual magazine is steel. And you are correct, those things just run and run forever.
@@matthewshelton9573 I never claimed the Taurus mags were better in functionality but they are definitely better fit and finish, and yes the Glock has a metal insert but if you notice the inside of the mag after disassembly for cleaning or any other reason you will see the seam in the back of the metal insert is not even welded but rather just pressed or interlocked together & more than likely the reason for the plastic IMO, the follower in the Taurus magazine also has less tendency to rock back and forth better fit than a Glock mag IMO but I’ve had zero issues with either and like both
The trigger is slightly better on the G3c. I don't know about now but the G2c used to have plastic sights as opposed to the G3c's metal sights. The G3c can take Glock aftermarket mags. It's possible the G2c takes Glock mags now but they didn't use to.
@@gibsonfranchiseI would definitely say G3c just because of my experience with both. Didn’t like the GX4. Just felt cheaper than G3C. G3C has a better track record for reliability, but probably because it’s been out longer. Just my 2 cents.
40-days in 599 Rds so far. Absolutely no complaints Easy to shoot decently accurate in the 30 ft self defense range east to service/clean Like it better than Glock Easy carry, car gun, office gun
it is in price point and reliability. head to head the T G3c actually beats the Glock... tried to destroy both and they both come out on top.. if you have cash resale value Glock.. if you want price point and same reliability and resale value try the G3c.. In the end its stopping power... With the 40 or TH45 semi bigger frame but massive stopping power.. With the new advents in 9mm breaker rounds and hallow point tech still makes the 9mm relevant. in the end ill always main carry my 1911.. 45acp. but in a pinch the 9mm T G3c is my go to.
"Better than" a Glock? Not likely--on just the reliability and longevity issues alone. But if it's as good as a Glock in all other respects, and about half the price, then it's a winner. Like an earlier commenter said, inexpensive, not CHEAP, reliable and accurate. You can buy with confidence! For "better than", however, you should step up to the G3C TORO, like I just did (from a G2C). At $299 less $30 rebate, it's unbeatable (especially since I already have 15 and 17 round mags from my G2C).
TORO stands for Taurus optics ready option. It's the equivalent of Glock's MOS. It comes with 4 different plates for most common red dots. That's why I upgraded from my G2C. Even though I have a combo light/laser on it (like with all but my oldest pistols which won't accommodate one well), the red dot gives me extra confidence, and with my thick glasses, I need all the help I can get. @@TerryBenton
I have the 1st gen g2. I've put over 1000 rounds through it with no hiccups. In fact I've ran the shittiest ammo ever made through it, no problem. My glock 19 had a few stovepipes running that same crappy ammo. It's a reliable gun for sure. I'm rockin a glock19x right now but I'll never get rid of the ole g2c. Definitely recommend it for anyone.
@jbird73 oh OK. I was wondering why you stop carrying the g2. You are smart enough to know that you must run a carry gun and it be 100 percent reliable. Just like the brakes on your car. 400 rds is good. I would never trust your life with the g19 that you said had malfunctions. I would trust the g19x that you have ran 400 rds through. Thanks again. I am glad you ha e 2 reliable Pistols you are happy with. Use the G19 as a range gun.
The G3 is but your right G3C isn’t. The G3 is an awesome weapon 7.2 inch in length . 15 & 17 rounds $ 350 taxes and background check for the G3TORO,that’s what I paid for mine. I belong to Taurus email and it’s amazing. Taurus keeps you informed about their products. Glock & Ruger also has great email information.
Much of the trash talk on Taurus is unjustified. I have had more problems with my Colts and Rugers than Taurus. My new one is made in the new Georgia plant and functions just fine. My latest Smith came with a bunch of bad functioning mags.
@@TerryBenton that's your right, if you want to believe that. I found a design flaw in both the G2C and the G3C and sold both of them. It's something that could be easily redesigned by Taurus and would make the gun much better. As long as you use the right kind of ammo, you should be fine.
Í believe g3c is better than a glock pistol of his category. I never liked glock pistol because of its ergonomics. It doesn't fit my hand. Glock's ergo isn't good. Taurus ergo is excellent.
Taurus have been having recall issues since 1997, which is still happening in 2024 with some of their GX 4 pistols. Problem with Taurus? Their quality control is inconsistent and that's the price you pay when you buy their product. There's more than enough videos on RUclips about issues with the Taurus G3c. Rather buy a SAR, or Canik before buying a Taurus.
@@TerryBenton By shooting it on different days over period of a month. Last time I took it out, after 5 or 6 shots stopped shooting, unloaded the mag and put it back in its box. I wont waste any more ammo going through it. I have a Hi Power that hits dead on time after time. Been shooting since 1960. Not hard to tell a lemon.
I am not a glock hater. I have a bunch of them. They are every bit as reliable and as good as a Glock. They are cheap polymer striker fired guns. Same as a Glock. However they are reliable.
I think It handles very well i own a G3c and it failed on me a few times and doesn’t feed hollow points they constantly get stuck in the feed ramp not even a 600 rounds through it I would not trust my life with a Taurus never cleaned my Glocks or Canik not one hiccup. But i will say I enjoy it at the range with practice ammo. I also know a handful of people with the same issue.
There are reports of even Glocks failing ... so I fail to see why the distrust .. I have owned and carried nothing but Taurus since the PT111 Millennium G2 and never once a failure ... even if one person has a bad experience with a product, that doesn't make the product bad
It's about price point, more than anything they seem to be reliable at about half the price, that puts this as an option for alot of people that don't have the money for a glock.
Glocks are garbage. I've seen 2 of them blow apart. Not to mention it's like holding a 2x4 in your hand..glock is so basic compared to other manufacturers
Opinions are like noses, everyone has one. But, here's what is bothersome about your presentation: (1) Showing viewers the gun is unloaded is a waste of their time since it's your responsibility to ensure the gun is safe BEFORE ever showing it; (2) Your opinion about gun safeties is selective and no one cares if you like safeties or not. Reviews are a plentiful and remarks to viewers subtract not add to your channel if they are disrespectful. But then again, who cares?
Actually he’s correct…your opinion is very condescending and shows a load of immaturity…99% of all videos about guns with safeties has the reviewer mention “ this has a safety, I hate safeties, but if you like one , that’s okay I’m just not a safety fan “ all he said was that he never uses it and YOu Tube requires you show the handgun unloaded and makes you clear and show before handling it or the video will be removed or they punish the reviewer in some ways…if you watch enough reviews you will also hear the reviewer mention that…some videos are grandfathered and those are okay to show take down and sight changing and additions or removal of certain parts or shoe modifications….that’s not allowed now…if you’re so bitter that you had to leave a comment like that you might as well just skilled the video and gone and washed your Ferrari and left us common folk alone…
I have a Taurus G3c... LOVE to shoot it (hundreds); love the way it feels. And accurate out of the box. BUT, it's persnickety with ammo. FMJs all day long, but it gets bitchy with JHPs. Initially I thought it was the grain, but NO, it seems to be shape of the phuqin tip - pointier the better. What is weird, tho, is that the FMJs are round AF, and I've never had a problem. My canik TP9sf magazines work in my Taurus G3. The only problem is the slide won't hold back after the last shot. Not a huge deal.
Here's a hint - if you are law enforcement, OR security, they will default you to the G3C without the thumb safety. Got mine about a month ago, put 200 rounds through it so far, no jams, misfires or any type of failure. My current EDC.
I did not know they made them without a thumb safety. Good info. Thanks
@@TerryBenton NP - All the videos I see shows the model with the thumb safety, so.
Taurus makes similar models without the manual safety!!!
I get mine Friday, my first gun, pretty excited.

@lucianoOliveira-fd9wu the sig is a good gun but I think your taurus is every bit as good if not better. Im your case it is better!!! Thank you for watching
1400 rounds thru my G3C with no failures of any kind.
Very nice. Keep shooting it. That is what they are for
I would say that my G3C is better than a Glock because I like the grip angle better than a Glock.
The taurus is definitely more comfortable in your hand and had better texture.
Why are the clips so hard to load
@kenadams7958 All double stack magazines are hard to load. Buy speedloader, and it becomes easy. Money well spent
T@TerryBenton thanks already bought one
I like having a safety. Taurus has the best safety. i'm a SW MP fan, hate their safety.
I do not mind the safety. It bothers some people
I have the G3 and I know he said it takes Glock sights but exactly which Glock sights ? Because I want to get night sights and i don’t know which Glock sight model the Taurus G3 takes
Same as G19, g26, g17 etc.
@@TerryBenton ok thank you
They make a 40....and it is my new favorite!
Oh wow
How many magazines come with the gun?
3 mags come with the G3C
I have one of these and can say it has a lot going for it over Glock IMO lol nicer magazines, better stippling, better trigger, metal sights, less flimsy slide release, steel mag release, and believe it or not stiffer polymer lol I can visibly watch the grip of my Glock 20 flex when I squeeze it without a magazine inserted and the rail up front on the Glock is also flimsy flexible 😂
Glocks do what they do, but they are not as awesome as people make them out to be. This gun is proof that people are paying for the name. Thanks for watching
I love the G series too but to say they have better mags than glock is crazy. Glocks mags are some of the best in the business.
@@matthewshelton9573 they are metal. Glock mags.are plastic. But you are correct that Glock mags always seem to work
@@TerryBenton Glock mags have a polymer shell, but the internal piece which is the actual magazine is steel. And you are correct, those things just run and run forever.
@@matthewshelton9573 I never claimed the Taurus mags were better in functionality but they are definitely better fit and finish, and yes the Glock has a metal insert but if you notice the inside of the mag after disassembly for cleaning or any other reason you will see the seam in the back of the metal insert is not even welded but rather just pressed or interlocked together & more than likely the reason for the plastic IMO, the follower in the Taurus magazine also has less tendency to rock back and forth better fit than a Glock mag IMO but I’ve had zero issues with either and like both
are these snappy wanna get one for my lady ? Also is drop safe if it doesn’t have the safe trigger on it some people say there’s didn’t have it
They are drop safe. They are not any more snappy then any other 9mm. She will be fine
I've owned and carried my G3C been great I recommend it to anyone

How much is the cost?
They are around $250
Great video! What would be the difference between the G2C? Thanks!
Front serrations and sites. The G3 also comes with 3 mags. That is the only difference. Thanks for watching
The trigger is slightly better on the G3c. I don't know about now but the G2c used to have plastic sights as opposed to the G3c's metal sights. The G3c can take Glock aftermarket mags. It's possible the G2c takes Glock mags now but they didn't use to.
Def better than a glock, it actually loads and fires
Sure
My Glocks load and fire every time 🤷♂️
Which is better this one or the gx4
Good idea
@@TerryBentonI was asking you
@@gibsonfranchiseI would definitely say G3c just because of my experience with both. Didn’t like the GX4. Just felt cheaper than G3C. G3C has a better track record for reliability, but probably because it’s been out longer. Just my 2 cents.

Easy to shoot decently accurate in the 30 ft self defense range east to service/clean
Like it better than Glock

it is in price point and reliability. head to head the T G3c actually beats the Glock... tried to destroy both and they both come out on top.. if you have cash resale value Glock.. if you want price point and same reliability and resale value try the G3c..
I think you are my favorite person that has commented
Great review. I subbed

Hands down far better than a Glock. Better trigger, better warrranty, and takes 18Round P226 magazines. Love Mine.
I cannot disagree. Thanks for watching
It will take 18 round Canik TP9sf mags too but it won't hold open after the last round is all.
What is the difference? I have not seen one of those
TORO stands for Taurus optics ready option.

@@TerryBenton got it last week. I've ran 400 rounds through it. No issues. Love it!
Much of the trash talk on Taurus is unjustified. I have had more problems with my Colts and Rugers than Taurus. My new one is made in the new Georgia plant and functions just fine. My latest Smith came with a bunch of bad functioning mags.

Umm, no it's not better than a Glock. Doesn't even come close. The Taurus is an ok gun for the money.
There is nothing better about a glock than this gun
@@TerryBenton that's your right, if you want to believe that. I found a design flaw in both the G2C and the G3C and sold both of them. It's something that could be easily redesigned by Taurus and would make the gun much better. As long as you use the right kind of ammo, you should be fine.
You wouldn't last long against a grizzly with a 45acp.
@@WZH-pd4el ok
Í believe g3c is better than a glock pistol of his category. I never liked glock pistol because of its ergonomics. It doesn't fit my hand. Glock's ergo isn't good. Taurus ergo is excellent.
I agree. The taurus feels alot more comfortable. Thanks for watching
Thanks for your opinion
Is the quality control better on the US made guns? I would think so.
Great gun, terrible review
Well thanks for your input.
Big bang but most inaccurate gun I ever owned.
@@ChuckoMountain-fv9yj really. How did you determine this?
@@TerryBenton By shooting it on different days over period of a month. Last time I took it out, after 5 or 6 shots stopped shooting, unloaded the mag and put it back in its box. I wont waste any more ammo going through it. I have a Hi Power that hits dead on time after time. Been shooting since 1960. Not hard to tell a lemon.
Great gun wouldn’t trust my life with it not even close to being better than Glock. Glock haters will say anything it’s not reliable 😂😂
Please do not bother commenting. Your non educated opinion means nothing to me or anyone else
My opinion means everything to you. That is why you commented
