Tbh the real use is if say you are keeping the laptop on the lap while lying on the bed or if you have a stand you can adjust it as much as you want tbh, without worrying you'll accidently break the hinge while trying to adjust it @@TrakinTechEnglish

We can't expect Asus vivobook S laptop to compete with price bracket of full fledged gaming laptops like Asus tuf gaming, Acer nitro, Acer predator, Hp victus, Hp omen etc... I found 180 degree hinge helpful when my 2yr small cousins while playing around somehow accidentally fall on edge the display and my laptop lays 180 degree completely. If this feature isn't there, it might be end of the hinge and display.

the zenbook 14 oled 2024 has a lot of coil whine. and overheats from time to time (zenbook has a single fan for cooling, vivobook has 2). for these two reasons, i sold my zenbook 14 oled and bought the vivobook s16 oled. i'm happy with it!

180° hinge is handy while using an external monitor. You can lay the screen flat and tuck it under the monitor and use laptops' keyboard and mouse.
