Thanks for the area tour
Welcome!
That’s a huge DG!
Haha yes it’s well stocked! Open early and till late. Very convenient
Thanks for the surrounding area video. Really want to see how the tiny home area is coming along. When I move there I hope I NEVER have to spend time in a tornado bunker!!!! 😮
I hope so too! But you never know, better to be prepared just in case (they’re seeing tornadoes all across the country now, in places that have no tornado protection or education. We are prepared here!)
I did not know Alabama was so beautiful! My husband and I live in New England. Alabama was rated the second best state to retire to for Veterans. There are a few things that would make pause; snakes, alligators and horrendous humidity during the summer. We also need to be close to a VA hospital. I’m going to continue to watch these videos. Well done.
Yes, that’s actually the state motto: “Alabama the Beautiful”. There is a VA hospital in Huntsville btw (lots of vets and military in Huntsville/Madison). No alligators here lol (you’re thinking Florida) though you can find snakes if you look for them (I rarely have seen any in the last 16 years I’ve lived in Huntsville). But if you go hiking in the woods, you’re more likely to find one, but no more frequently than when I was living in Northern California and went hiking there (rattle snakes!). But there is higher humidity here, most noticeable in the summer, but not like Florida or further south / closer to the coast (6 hours from the Florida beaches)
Scary that the bridge lies so low
The bridge into Guntersville? It’s just the angle, height and distance of the shot. The bridge is probably nearly 100 feet above the water (drone was nearly 400 feet above water)
Need a Walmart
There’s a super Walmart in Scottsboro (20 min) and several in Huntsville (nearest also 20 min off Winchester, opposite direction).
Thank you so much for doing this video! This certainly helps get a feel of the towns and locations. Looking forward to coming down again in about a month to get a storage bldg lined up, now I know where to go.
Glad you enjoyed it! And stay tuned, more videos coming for areas/towns to the East, Southeast, southwest and of course Huntsville/Madison in the West... :)
Wow Piggly Wiggly I have not seen them since childhood.👍
Yes we have a few! The more common (and larger) grocery stores you'll find in Huntsville, Guntersville & Scottsboro are Publix, Krogers, Super Walmart & Super Target (and of course your Trader Joe's, Aldi's, Whole Foods, Nature's Market, etc in Huntsville)
There really is everything you need right close by. I'd probably go a few times a month to stock up at Walmart and shop the larger chains in Huntsville, catch a movie etc but in between what else do you really need?
Thanks for sharing!
Oddly enough I was concerned about even looking in this area knowing that tornadoes 🌪️ are a fact of life in that area and being in a tiny home. I currently live in tornado alley and have nothing like the storm shelter’s you have there! I love the small town feel - exactly like where I currently live! Thank you!
They were just talking about tornadoes in California with these latest storms out there... (where they probably don't have any precautions for these kinds of storms). You never know what nature will bring, having a strong, well built tiny house like ITH builds is important!
How much is gas down there ?
$2.80-$2.90/gallon right now (regular unleaded)
You did it❤❤❤
Great deal Hans...
Thanks! :)
What is the address? cant find it on any of your pages
Hospital?
I’ll show the Scottsboro Hospital in the Scottsboro video (part 3 of the series coming up), technically the hospital that serves that area. Though Huntsville hospital is about the same distance to the west).
Nice video
Thanks!!
Where are the tiny homes communities? What do the tiny homes look like inside and out?
This tiny home community is located outside Huntsville, Alabama. You can see some video tours of the homes on this RUclips channel
Great video.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!
Is this a high tornado area ?
Woodville in particular? No. But there have been tornadoes in the area, but I guess you could say that about a lot of places across the country now these days, even California. But we do have community safe rooms within 2 miles of the property for those concerned, so there is preparation just in case. You never know these days what the weather will do it seems!
How far do you have to go for wine or other alcoholic beverages- because it looks like the property is in a dry country.
It is a dry county but believe Scottsboro AL is allowed to sell. It is a good size town and only about 15 mins away.
Good question. Technically the county is a dry county but 4 cities in Jackson county are “wet”, Scottsboro being one of them. But you can also head 10 min east into Madison county (“wet county” that Huntsville is located in), into the town of Gurley
Great idea to show what’s nearby. Very pretty area!
Love the Tesla. Just took road trip car camping to Fl in the model Y. No longer need to stay in hotels.
Very cool! Yes I've done that on a trip to a campsite in the Smokey Mountains as well (camp mode :) Yes, area is beautiful, and I even forgot to add drone footage of the foothills around the property...maybe in the next one...
Yay!! Been waiting
Lots of editing in this one, took some time but I know people have been waiting for this one. Wasn't a whole lot of shops or stores in this one, but stay tuned Frances as the next few will feature the other towns in different directions and neat attractions as well. And the Huntsville one will have a ton in it as there's everything in Huntsville... :)
@gotinybefree I have done some research. Hoping I will be able to keep my job and just transfer to our Nashville office. Work from home. I would be in high cotton if approved. I will stay tuned!!!
How close is the nearest Costco?
About ~25 min, right in center of Huntsville
@@gotinybefreeto get to Costco, would it be driving on that two lane highway? reason I’m asking is because I would have to transfer job to that costco
Yes! It's a straight shot on US-72 W almost exactly 25 miles.
Impressive and entertaining video
Glad you liked it Jenny! Thanks!
Really enjoy the video. Could you tell me how far the Toyota plant is from the property?
Great, thanks! Which one? The main Toyota Plant off Pulaski Pike in North Huntsville is 30 miles; the newer Mazda-Toyota plant on the other side of Huntsville is 44 miles (pretty much straight west along the highway). Hope that helps!
Are dogs and cats allowed in the shelter in carriers and harnessed of course?
Yes
@@gotinybefree I am getting excited.
@francesn33 me too, can't wait to Meer you!
You are going awful fast on the way to woodville😅😅
Haha, it's that lead foot of mine... ;) The video would have been at least an hour long at normal speed so some driving clips I sped up 20x :)
