The best word to describe it is desensitized. Soldiers, social workers, and investment bankers all experience it. For soldiers, it’s killing. For social workers, it’s abuse. For investment bankers, it’s obscene amounts of money. For this guy, it’s comics. Desensitized.

In recent months I have seen a proliferation of dealers posting videos of collections they got a "great deal" on. This seems like a harbinger of things to come. At some point soon there is going to be a significant downturn in the market with so many collectors exiting the market and letting go of collections at a fraction of their realized (retail market) value.

To a degree, is he desensitized from seeing / owning Mid-High grade copies of Key’s and Grail’s - sure. Question, why buy / sell / display original comic book art, if you’ve no love for this hobby?
    I believe he does.
However, he grew his business to such an unprecedented level that he has delegated parts of it to several people he contracts. His daylight hours are consumed by pricing, making deals, and insuring safe environmentally controlled storage.
I hope he has also invested some of his profits into a multi-faceted Security System for this comic book business.
If not..? His business and location will eventually have a bullseye on them.

Idk why but when I see stuff like this… I’m not envious or excited . This guy just sees comics as basically real estate because he has the money to blow .9-5 blu collars like me look at 200 dollars a month as a damned fortune collecting new monthlies
Dudes like this and all the people that refer to comics as “The Hobby” have just sucked the fun out of collecting. Used to before the boom of the 90s you could go back and grab books missing in your collection for cover or cheaper. Now? If you missed Cates 1st issue of hulk the lowest you’ll get is 25 bucks! Or you missed Snyder’s first arc of his Batman run? Forget about it. All thanks to the whales swarming the shops wednesday and then up selling them for ridiculous prices. And if you don’t have it on your pull list good luck.
I love comics but damn is it daunting to collect in modern times.
