Yes, as a Canadian, I can see that Shorrock would be. A great singer with a velvet voice to be sure! I loved LRB and their "Sleeper Catcher" album, especially, back then, and this song (that he wrote) was my fave on it! In fact, it was either this one or another hit he wrote, "Help Is on The Way" (from the previous album), that are my two faves of them all. And then, after "Lady" (by Goble), it would be the other hit he wrote, "Cool Change," which would make up my top four! I also loved his solo album from 1982, Villain of the Peace, with "Angry Words" being my fave from that one.
@blucat4 underrated is exactly the right word. David Briggs is not ever listed on any list of "greatest guitar players"... he's fantastic but relatively unknown outside of LRB fans, thus underrated. He should be celebrated beyond Reminiscing
After survivng rare Leukemia, 26 years, knocked out cold on a church sidewalk 7 years ago, and being in another dimension, is just what this memory song brings back, a sense of flying with prayer and smile, considering im in another dimension, this song does it all!!!! Classic Vinyl Revisited!!! *)
Soo I bought this album when it came out, my parents went out and I played the album on their stereo...which wasn't allowed to do...the end of this song comes on and I thought I broke their stereo...!
I remember L R B doing this fabulous track on the Paul Hogan show and how I feel being back in 1978 everytime I hear it. Love the clip immensely and seeing the train that was so commonplace. So much talent !
