Still need more knowledge on PIDs, motor filtering, & Bidirectional whatever though. Why do you do this to me Joshua? I thought we had an understanding!! Do you know how much crap I'm gonna get when yet another box shows up at my front door??!! Guess I got to hope I get to the mail before she does. Keep up the great vids brother! Fly on.
Beginner soldering advice: use leaded solder and a lower temp (310-315C, 600F). JB solders at 400C/750F which is fine for wires, but you want a lower temp when soldering electrical components so learn and practice at a lower, more forgiving temp (but watch for cold solder joints!)
I see you are also one who can appreciate the art and understand how refreshing it is to watch someone who actually knows more than the average person do a video vs. Someone highly unqualified and trying to reverse engineer something and teach others in the same video.

Interesting advice with the “tinning” of the motor wires. I almost always only mount motors with 1 screw then remove them to tin lol. I’ve done a lot of soldering and built quite a few quads and still don’t trust myself
9:55 pro tip! Make sure you wash your hands well before you do this to remove any oils or it's a lot harder to get the solder to flow correctly. That's my 2 cents.
1. I always measuring resistance to detect short circuit with coils. Coils have more Ohm, than a short circuit. 2. You should clean non-clean flux if you want to put lacquer or plastic on the PCB. When you put some plastic on flux, you make something like canned. This improves the processes of PCB and soldering destruction. I always clean all types of flux, because I had some problems with it at measuring circuits.
Love this rig. Had it since the day the frame came out and all the parts within the first week that I had it. Now 2+ months later I still haven’t built it. Lmao 🤣. But I’ve been on a Fpv break bc I got a little burnt out flying 20 packs a day for 5 months straight. But I will be working on my tiny trainer on my next off day. Can’t wait to finally get it ready for some micro racing.
After 2-3 months of not flying think ima get out this weekend when this hurricane fully passes and compare my FalcoX tune to this betaflight tune. Haven’t flown betaflight in 2 years now but wanna try it out again.
Dang! I saw this video one day too late or I would have run over to Knoxville to see it in action in person (and maybe challenge you to an old guy race). Can't wait to see how you did. Thanks for the video!
Great video! Thank you! What is the difference between spinning direction of props - inside-out, or outside-in? How does it change the flight characteristics? Thank you!
the kester solder you use is very expensive at least for me in europe i can only find it on amazon it's almost 117 dollars 100euro's just insane for 2 rolls of solder i could get 3 kilo's of cheaper solder for that is there any other good cheaper solder you maybe know?
Water clean fluxes and acid fluxes are usually the issue with corrosion and conductivity in my experience. Rosin flux which is common in electronics fluxed solder does not need to be cleaned, but it looks better if it is.
The caddx kangaroo can be a great looking camera if you go into the settings and turn the sharpness down to about 50 to get rid of the digital shimmer. It's a shame they didn't include the led set made for this build, but it's still a great kit.
@@JoshuaBardwell That's good news! It really adds something special to this build, and I'm not usually a big fan of adding leds. I'm looking forward to seeing your thoughts after getting a chance to fly it. Good luck at the races!
Hi Josh. Once again, great video. I just my kit from fpv crate and built it. I have followed your instructions but I am getting errors on my motors with rpm filters on. I have already built quite a few kwads with rpm filters and always get 0%. I am on Blheli S 16.71, BF 4.2, 8k/4k, 12 poles, Dshot 300 etc. Any ideas what usually causes these errors? Bad solder joint, bad FC? I'm at a loss. Thanks in advance for your help.
Hey Joshua, thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge in this wonderful hobby. My question is how to bind to a receiver that is integrated into the board? I have this old flight board that’s used for micro builds. I’m not sure if it’s a scisky or a pico board. It has no bind button and there’s no writings or markings on it except DSM/PPM. I tried CLI “set spektrum_sat_bind=9” command but Beta flight won’t accept the command. I appreciate any help, thanks
Are you sure it has a receiver built in? Usually if it has a receiver built in it would have a bind button too. Is there solder pads under where it says dsm/ppm? If so you probably need to add your own receiver. If it dose have a dsm receiver built in the command to get it to bind can be a little different depending on what version of betaflight your using but im not sure the difference right of hand unfortunately though.
