Thank you SOOOO much! I recently got a Emax Tinyhawk 2 and crashed it. One of the motors were not spinning correctly and I thought I was going to have to replace the whole 60 dollar logic board that had EVERYTHING on it. After I watched this video I bought a new 10 dollar motor and it works great, thanks to your diagnosing!
Is it difficult to solder the wires to such a tiny board?
@@look2christ777 Yeah, It takes some practice, the hardest part is not to bridge them, remember to NOT plug it in until you have checked for bridges. I recommend a micro sized soldering iron with flux, this will help a lot.

It took me buying a whole new set of motors for my micro to figure out the ESC was the problem. Thanks for the easy solution.
Best drone info on the interwebs. Damn I'd be grounded without ya man. 1st time I've killed a motor but soooo stoke I learned to diagnose the problem and that my FSC/ESC is ok.

You can use the arrow keys to raise the throttle incrementally, sometimes a mouse or track pad can raise throttle to aggressively.
Another great video Justin, thanks for helping the new guys to be able to diagnose their own quads.
I have the same problem on my TH2. My ESC all comes up in blheli..but after getting a new motor soldered the new one still stutters. Should I be checking something else?
Had the same issue. Looked fine in BLHeli but it actually turned out to be the ESC anyway. Once I replaced the ESC everything working fine again. I think looking in BLHeli Configurator is a good place to start, but it doesn't guarantee that it still can't be your ESC. At least based on my own experience to date.

Hi Justin thank you for the great videos, you have helped me in more then one. I have a question i have a loose motor wire going into the motor ESC1 but i cannot connect to Belheli config software. I tried another quad of the same drone. I have 2 hglrs Arro3 4s but my newest arrow3 drone and the software also will not connect. Can you give me a quick reason why i cannot connect to my motor number 1 via my BELHELI? Ive nevrr had a problem Connecting to Bel HelI

This is exactly where I needed to be. Thank you. I feel confident to fix this myself. Can't wait to see the results...except I just replaced my ai1 board from HOMfpv on my Micron2 HD. I'm told these all in one boards have issues. ugh.
Really useful video, maybe also hint at BLHeli32 (not the configurator) or tell people to first check what flight controller they have in case it's not a DIY build.

Hey ya. Not sure if you recall but I ended up getting the Tinyawk 2 Freestyle due to your review. I've been having a blast with it. But now when I arm only 3 of my motors spin. But the one motor stutters a bit. When I do the BHeli test you talk about it shows all my ESC's and then in BetaFlight I do the test you show for each motor and #2 motor isn't spinning up. But it's not like the one in your video where it does nothing. It actually TRIES to move and does manage to move a bit...but stutters and stops. Nothing high speed but there is movement. Could it be a lose solder point maybe?

Evening man. I need a little help with my hexacopter s550, I’m having trouble getting the motors to spin. I have new esc and motors. Completely new to building drones
Super helpful video, one motor stopped turning after a prop fell off and the drone crashed as I didnt screw it properly. I tried to connect it to BHeli configurator to see if the ESC is ok, but after pressing read setup it says reading setup finished but nothing shows up on the screen. Does this mean the esc is broken ?

Hi justin , bought a GEPRC tiny GO 1080P RTF kit . I crashed it lately and now when I arm it it just spins around in one direction and does not come off the ground at all . seems like the throttle has no effect. can send you a video of what it does so you can get a better idea. would appreciate your help to dix this issue. cheers
Is it possible for a 6s battery, if the esc 30A is connected to the peak current motor 50A? Is his ecs able to withstand
I have a Similar issue but its intermittent. Checked cable connections between FC and 4in1. Happened while hovering and landing (bounce with airmode, not violent) once I unplugged and plugged batt back in I reaarmed and it fired up.. Any suggestions? Thanks! I don't have a spare motor to check, would it be worth it to order one and swap? Hasn't had any flight time.
I have a Question about a Tinyhawk. I dont know what my mate did with the TH but: What can it be if all ESC show up and all Motors work properly (I crosschanged the Motors and testet. Only the 2 Front Connections work...So no ESC seems to have a malfunction like the motors dont have. ?! The only thing he said, is that he had to resolder the Powercables. I checked and didnt find anything bad. Any Idea?

well am a newbie to soldering .. I have a soldering iron .. n a welder dual Heat 100 140w soldering handle gun ..n not good at desoldering so if I desolder bad motor and switched with good motor would that mean bad ESC if motor spins on original back left side .. if other motor spins on that bad side then I have burned out motor? ..n I do thank you for all your help to

I had a pretty big crash today, one motor smells weird and isnt spinning fully. BLHeli Config is picking up 4 ESCs, and the motor spins SLIGHTLY but really jerky when doing motor test in BF. Does this just mean bad motor as well? Or can I salvage this one somehow?

I have an fixed wing UAV. It looks like my right wing motor may not be working since it broke from the foam when it hit the ground
I fixed the foam and reconnected the motor 3 cables to the ESC. Now All servos work but the two motors

So I have a betafpv 75x and I needed a new fc/esc stack. The exact same one it comes with and after switching it over none of the motors will spin. The quad will arm, camera works and I can change the mode but the motors won’t spin at all. I went into beta and tested the motors and I can see it’s sending power to the motors. I have new motors and I tried swapping one out and still nothing. Is it possible I got a bad esc that is brand new?
I have a blade 250pro one esc melted I replaced it and the motor did not turn on so put a new motor on it but now it’s acting like it’s not bound i try to bind I’d but it won’t bind. Can you help?

Good day bro. my Tozo Q1012 drone is mid functioning, the A1 wing keeps turning (motor is still on) even if the drone is switched off. It only stop when I remove the battery terminal or when the battery runs dead.

I followed this (new motir required) then problem moved to another motor, still showing all escs but motor is new and works fine byt still get a shakey spin on start up before it stops whist the other 3 keep spinning? P.s i hear a short beep just before motor stops completely?

First of all thanks for the demonstration, I have followed your diagnostics to determine if my motor is dead or the 4in1 ESC, I did the BLheli check and it shows all four ESC's. I closed BLheli and opened and connected to Betaflight. I check the motors as you showed in your video and all four motors run fine. When I place the props back on however and use my radio to power up, Motor3 only sputters for awhile and then gradually catches up to the other 3 motors in RPM, when I increase my throttle to flight speed my quad rotates counterclockwise. So I am baffled if my motor is fine and the 4in1 is fine then does that mean my FC is messed up? Any feedback is welcomed.......... Thanks

Great tip on using BL Heli to check if ESCs are fried. Unfortunately my Flywoo Firefly 1s Nano Baby v1 is fried because I stupidly tried to plug in a 1s 2000mah lipo to see if it would power it up. I guess the Goku AIO is not rated for 2000mah rookie mistake.

I have a omnibus xrotor f4 g2 fc and 4 individual platinum pro 30 amps esc no bec. I tried my best to make them work together but i couldn't. Is it even impossible for that fc to work with individual esc. If yes. Please how. I tried almost àll the sitings on betaflight but i didn't succeed. Can you please tell how to configure them. I think it's probably the esc protocol problem?
IF Heli not get any data does it mean the ESC is completly dead?

"The racing drone was working perfectly but for some reason the motors will not start up now. The drone is still bound to the radio transmitter and when connected to Betaflight everything is set up correctly. In Betaflight the motors will not spin when in motor test mode, but the motors do twitch when the lipo battery is connected. I think the fault could be the power distribution board on the drone, a new correct power distribution board is included but I have not had time to fit this to see if it fixes the fault. It will be an easy fix for the right person." ? Any help would be appreciated.

I just built my drone, and the only thing that happens on this part of the set up when I connect the battery to the drone is the motors just beep non stop. Any advice?

hello i just wanted ask what if the motor and esc brand new right out the box and i have the same problem with that number one motor. so i got a new fc and again no stop working it was worker early but so as i finish with the build and fire it up that same motor stop three times do you the problem
Is it normal for a quad to only move 3 motors when connecting the battery and hearing the beeps? Aren’t all 4 supposed to move a bit when first connecting the battery?

Wish I had same problem. My problem is motor 3 wants to spin but can't. Have to disarm and arm again until it spins. But without props it spins right away. Updated and calibrated same prob.
Pretty sure I have a motor gone or going bad. Ordered a couple new ones. While waiting for the motor I ended up turning the quad upside down and arming in turtle mode while holding the quad I got the bad motor spinning good. Then when I flipped it back over the dead motor worked again. New motors arrive tomorrow not sure when I'll need them eventually I suppose. Some motors have plugs instead of solder some camera's have plugs some soldered. Why not put plug connectors on everything.

Well, just replaced the 'twitchy' motor this evening. Fired it up...and, same problem exists.
*UPDATE* : FYI: It actually ended up being the 4-N-1 ESC. Even though appeared fine in BLHeli.

I might have to see if it's my plug on my Tiny hawk. I've checked everything else and swapped motors for it hasn't helped
You need to verify the mosfets aren't blown. I had esc with blown mosfets which connected to bheli
