These are some of our most popular stories of 2023. In February, a judge approved a lawyer’s request to be withdrawn from the case after his client, Taylor Schabusiness, attacked him in court. In June, a mom threw her 5-year-old daughter a birthday party, but none of her classmates showed up. In April, seventh grader Dillion Reeves was praised for his heroic actions when the driver of the bus he was on fainted. Inside Edition Digital’s Andrea Swindall has more.

Shame on those parents who RSVPd and didn't show up to the little girls birthday party! That would break my heart as a Mother if that happened to my child. Thankfully the community was nice to react to her post by showing up. I loved seeing the kids enjoying themselves even if they dont know each other. What I love about kids is their ability to have fun with one another without hesitation.

Honestly the little girls birthday party really broke my heart and made me cry. Its so sad how people can be cruel.. this is what theyre teaching their kids already..

So heartbreaking to see the 5yo girl to have no friends show up at her birthday party. She's still too young to learn about being ditched. Thankfully neighbors and community members were nice and kind enough to show up (with gifts as well) to make her special day a happy and memorable one. Furthermore, she's got new friends too, and probably better ones.

I'm so happy that little girl got to have her birthday party! She'll remember these strangers' kindness and may be inspired to pass it on one day. 😊 On another note, I feel like people don't know what RSVP means. An invitation will say "RSVP by [this date]" and either people say they're coming and treat it as a "maybe." (But no commitment to actually showing up.) Or they don't bother RSVP'ing at all and then show up because they think they only need to respond if they're NOT coming. I was dealing with this issue from people of all ages when we were trying to get a head count for our wedding. (I'm a young millennial.)
