Killing Chaotic Gore Magala always tends to put a smile on my face. The monster is constantly being traumatized by the frenzy virus scales that it couldn't shed so killing it feels like a good thing because you're ending the suffering that is it's life.
Even if they didn't bring back Chaotic Gore in Gen or XX, I wish they had at least put its weapons in by mixing Gore and Shagaru parts. If you didn't know, Chaotic Gore weapons have a gimmick where they have both a negative and positive affinity and you can't get rid of the negative affinity with skills. However, if you overcome the Frenzy Virus, the negative affinity inverts and is added to the positive affinity plus the 15% boost from the virus (30% with Antivirus skill). If you did this with the hunter art Frenzy Fever, you could have a really high affinity for the entire fight on every weapon type and makes 100% crit sets very easy to make. For the math, let's take the GS, Duster/Eclat. It has an affinity of -45% and +20%. Invert the negative and add 15% and you have 80% affinity! Now add another 20% from Crit Eye+2 and you get 100% affinity without any other skills! Who needs Crit Draw when everything crits!
Please Ivory Lagiacrus and the regular Lagiacrus are little lizards compared to their stronger, female cousin the Abyssal Lagiacrus yeah there's a reason why her nickname in the game's lore is Queen of the Deep, and her nickname amongst us fans is Queen Abyss. Case in point the quest you fight her she makes a good first impression when you reach the area you're supposed to be at which is a arena-style area you find both male versions of the Lagiacrus and you at first suspect you're fighting both of them then you hear a roar and they swim off in terror actually afraid of what made that roar and you're left confused on what can be strong enough to scare them and that's when the Queen of the Deep Abyssal Lagiacrus makes her true reveal and it's actually beautiful as her swimming looks like a beautiful graceful dance, and after she spots you and the fight begins she shows you why has the nickname Queen of the Deep.

There is a reason why she is known in the game lore as The Queen of the Deep, and amongst us fans as Queen Abyss as she lives up to the hype the lore and her intro cutscene bring in that she makes her 2 male cousins look like little lizards compared to her and she's just as tough to bring down. My multiple losses to her in combination with her beauty made me respect her as the Queen of the Deep that she is.

And like I mentioned her intro cutscene basically starts with the Lagiacrus, and Ivory Lagiacrus who you thought were your targets swimming away at top speed terrified by the sound of her roar.
I really like the stripe on the tigerstripe zamtrios stomach. I feel that it's a really nice touch. I'm a little disappointed that it couldn't make armor out of hard sand or rocks though, would of been cool 😆
Love that the Ash Kecha Wacha made it on here. It's Long Sword was my first foray into the LS experience, and I've used it to slay more Shagaru Magalas than I can count. Also, double props for Tidal Narjala and Stygian Zinogre, but I have to say I'm most happy with your number one pick. Also drinking game - take a shot for every time Ryan says Red Khezu.
what's cool about molten tigrex is that when you fight it first, it is slow, but as the battle goes on, it becomes faster, stronger, and the roar sounds like it's praying to elder dragon.
#10: boi yes that one was good, but I especially LOVE its armor design fashionwise. #9: I did like this but too, but what I liked most was its sweet hunting horn that my best friend dubbed "the jhen mohran toothbrush" cuz at quick glance it really just looks like an oversized toothbrush! But it was my favorite hunting horn in 3U. #8: I'm afraid this one went completely unnoticed to me, I just didn't care enough about it, but I don't really care that much about the original either. I think I did make its IG though. #7: oh dear, love it, love it so much, not much more to say than that, I just fully agree there. #6: tbh, I liked this one specifically cuz I hate underwater combat XD. But boi do I have memories of fighting this thing over and over with my friends in the DLC version of the SUPER ivory lagiacrus with insane damage to get some of those DLC weapons. Twas a lot of failures XD. #5: loved em both but I did prefer the subspecies for this one. The bubble form as you call it of the original mostly felt like a damage sponge that barely did much to fight back unlike this one where I was constantly on edge. #4: "is way cooler" damn you're killing me with these puns! but anyway I do love it but its also the main monster I truly considered mind's eye for with a set of fire DBs since fire damage weakens its armor faster like it does for the regular. #3: Yes YES YES!!! I LOVE THIS ONE! its prob my favorite as a subspecies of all of them. I already love the original but this one is just so much better in style. and I also have the fondest memories of fighting this guy in a team especially for my...euh...moment of saving a friend from it. Like we were fighting it and she was setting a trap to capture it but just as soon as she started it generated its homing dragon balls straight at her so instead of attacking it I ran all the way around the zinogre and took the shot directly (I actually meant to shield it with my lance but I ran out of stamina to do it on the way soooo i'll go with that...), she loved me for it I'm so proud XD. #2: That one was definitely a welcomed challenge, but what took the forefront for me on it was its gear. it just is...so good! I loved combining its armor with the gogmazios hunting horn for a decisively excellent support set when I gemmed in for wide-range+2 or horn maestro or wahtever else I could find. But it's a tricky one to solo on my own, I relied mostly on eva skills and IG. #1: I freakin knew it XD. I felt it was gonna be this one when I clicked on here. and its def my 2nd favorite next to #3. This thing has such an amazing atmosphere and design to it and at the same time I can't help but feel empathy for what the monster is in nature and what it's going through. it definitely earned its prefix. And oh god its weapons, what a bunch of monstrous things they are. So much to love here. Nothing to add here, I don't usually pay too much mind to subspecies but the most notable ones to me were already mentionned.
Another subspecies that I really wanted to talk about was the Shrouded Nerscylla. I actually forgot about it when I was making this video. And that SZ story is awesome.

And oh yeah, I love nerscylla and its subspecies, all its gears are usually very good for status and its weapons are definitely up there in my favorites. but for XX I was soooo hoping for a deviant nerscylla...but alas. Would have been the perfect candidate too, much like how each nerscylla species wears a specific monster's skin on its back, this one should have worn the skin of a very notable monster to justify a great deviant, chameleos. like maybe nightstalker nerscylla or something. I would have fallen in immediate love.

For Ash Kecha Wacha, don't forget that it closes its head with its ears most of time during the hunt so you have to careful when trying to apporach it.
The Stygian zinogre was heavily fixed in 4U. in 3 it was BORING to fight because of how predictable his dragon spheres were. They are more unpredictable now
Khezu is the best monster because it's music is absolutely AMAZING and it's attacks are so diverse and it's subspecies: the red khezu makes it even better by improving the music quality and adds a bunch of new attacks and it isn't ridiculously OP so it's enjoyable to fight
While I love S. Zinogre I was actually a little bit surprised that it made it to this list. Also as a regular Zinogre fan I actually completely agree on how different the two fights are, as well as some of the reasons you didn't like the original (though I was sad that the original made it to a least favourite list). Many of these subspecies you mentioned I haven't fought yet, but I do like to admire how different they can be, even if it's mostly just in appearance. Overall I enjoyed this video and think you did a great job.

Waterblight isn't a joke when you're using Dual Blades, Insect Glaive or Aerial Style. With the Dual Blades you need the stamina for demon mode and evasions, and for both Glaive and Aerial you need the stamina for mounts.

The Hermitaur was my fucking arch nemesis. I just couldn't beat it,that thing was probably my greatest roadblock in Monster Hunter. When I found out it had a subspecies,I lost my shit. That demon of a crab gave me P.T.S.D.
you think hermitaur was bad? shogun ceanataur is basically its demonic brother. it can extend its claws when in rage mode to gain ungodly reach and does about as much damage as an enraged rathalos while being fast as fuck. and the best part: if you break one of its claws it will stay enraged PERMANENTLY.......

The Shogun also gave me PTSD,I remembered back when I had just beaten my first Gore Magala. I thought I was some pretty hot shit you know,the cream of the crop,the apex predator in town. This mindset didn't last for very long. I saw a quest that required me to hunt an overgrown hermit crab and thought,"this shouldn't be too bad,right?" I was sadly mistaken,that demon was the most ruthless,savage,and heartless beast I have ever come across up to that point. Also,fuck the Tidal Najarala. That thing wasn't nearly as bad as the Hermitaur for me,but it was also another block in the road.
the worst of those crabs i ever fought was the red shogun ceanataur.. that fucker can use its shell to attack with the plesioths hydro pump. i remember back in freedom unite there was a quest where you neeeded to hunt a regular and a red shogun ( of course it was fucking g rank....)

Raging Brachydios is a variant of the original monster not a subspecies. It's actually the first deviant in the game that gave the concept to generations. Just figured I'd point that out cuz a lot of my friends thought that way too. X)
Always depends... Water blight is literally the worst thing that can happen to you if you are playing bow and don´t have dash juice available since you need stamina for your standart attack...
I see Glacial Agnaktor's subversion more as; -Basic sees you act fast so you can take advantage of molten armor. -Glacial sees you waiting for the armor to thaw so you can strike it naturally.

If a monster has 3 different subspecies the third one is often called a rare species and not technically considered subspecies. Examples include Abyssal Lagi, Molten Tigrex, Gold and Silver Rath twins etc.

i've fought it and his only new attack is when he swipe his mouth at you. this attack is sooo cheap it is almost impossible to predict

The Stygian zinogre was heavily fixed in 4U. in 3 it was BORING to fight because of how predictable his dragon spheres were. They are more unpredictable now
It’s very subtle, but if you pay attention, you can get the sense that RedLeapord doesn’t like the Red Khezu.
Khezu is the best monster because it's music is absolutely AMAZING and it's attacks are so diverse and it's subspecies: the red khezu makes it even better by improving the music quality and adds a bunch of new attacks and it isn't ridiculously OP so it's enjoyable to fight
While I love S. Zinogre I was actually a little bit surprised that it made it to this list. Also as a regular Zinogre fan I actually completely agree on how different the two fights are, as well as some of the reasons you didn't like the original (though I was sad that the original made it to a least favourite list). Many of these subspecies you mentioned I haven't fought yet, but I do like to admire how different they can be, even if it's mostly just in appearance. Overall I enjoyed this video and think you did a great job.

I have a personal hatred of the Stygian Zinogre since its mission in mh4u has a Seregios helping it out. I took 45 minutes fighting it

Waterblight isn't a joke when you're using Dual Blades, Insect Glaive or Aerial Style. With the Dual Blades you need the stamina for demon mode and evasions, and for both Glaive and Aerial you need the stamina for mounts.

The Hermitaur was my fucking arch nemesis. I just couldn't beat it,that thing was probably my greatest roadblock in Monster Hunter. When I found out it had a subspecies,I lost my shit. That demon of a crab gave me P.T.S.D.
you think hermitaur was bad? shogun ceanataur is basically its demonic brother. it can extend its claws when in rage mode to gain ungodly reach and does about as much damage as an enraged rathalos while being fast as fuck. and the best part: if you break one of its claws it will stay enraged PERMANENTLY.......

The Shogun also gave me PTSD,I remembered back when I had just beaten my first Gore Magala. I thought I was some pretty hot shit you know,the cream of the crop,the apex predator in town. This mindset didn't last for very long. I saw a quest that required me to hunt an overgrown hermit crab and thought,"this shouldn't be too bad,right?" I was sadly mistaken,that demon was the most ruthless,savage,and heartless beast I have ever come across up to that point. Also,fuck the Tidal Najarala. That thing wasn't nearly as bad as the Hermitaur for me,but it was also another block in the road.
the worst of those crabs i ever fought was the red shogun ceanataur.. that fucker can use its shell to attack with the plesioths hydro pump. i remember back in freedom unite there was a quest where you neeeded to hunt a regular and a red shogun ( of course it was fucking g rank....)

Raging Brachydios is a variant of the original monster not a subspecies. It's actually the first deviant in the game that gave the concept to generations. Just figured I'd point that out cuz a lot of my friends thought that way too. X)

Always depends... Water blight is literally the worst thing that can happen to you if you are playing bow and don´t have dash juice available since you need stamina for your standart attack...
I see Glacial Agnaktor's subversion more as;
-Basic sees you act fast so you can take advantage of molten armor.
-Glacial sees you waiting for the armor to thaw so you can strike it naturally.
This makes me want to play M.S., i have never played before.
While I don't like molten tigrex, he was my best hunt as a bow user and I never got carted by him the first time I fought him.

If a monster has 3 different subspecies the third one is often called a rare species and not technically considered subspecies. Examples include Abyssal Lagi, Molten Tigrex, Gold and Silver Rath twins etc.
