I remember House of Wolves for two things:
    1. the sequel which was greenlit on steam, but never released
    2. the habit that it gave me, where I feel the need to constantly click on empty spaces while using my computer to ensure that I don't have anything selected

actually edit for this, i just checked the dev's youtube trailer for the second game and there is a reply from just 10 months ago that they still want to finish the game.

I remember playing the first Age of War in a summer school computer class. When I first played it I didn't even realize you could upgrade to new ages, so I was stuck in the caveman era, even as the enemy advanced. At first it was a slough, barley scraping by as more advanced units effortlessly killed my clubmen. Because I was to dumb to figure out a basic game mechanic, I kept wondering why the enemy always seemed to have the upper hand and why I wasn't upgrading. Then something magic happened. The game progressed to the point where I kept getting enough money to spam the strongest caveman unit, the dino rider. So what this resulted in was the most bizarre version of Stalingrad, where future soldiers and tanks were struggling to keep the horde of smelly cavemen riding big dumb lizards at bay. It was glorious, as this locked the game into a stalemate of stupidity. By the time class was over, I was getting like 3 frames a second and the computer took 5 minutes to shut down. All because I didn't know how to do like one of 5 things the game had to offer. It's a miracle I graduated.
I eventually beat the game at another time, but I never saw the end result of that first playthrough. To this day I like to imagine the war is still raging on, an endless conflict in which super soldiers stand their ground against an endless sea of spear wielding cavemen riding dinosaurs.

Man, I'm h!&#, and I swear that’s the best comment I’ve ever read. I can envision the cinematic elements of a StarCraft-style war film incorporated into Circle of Fire, blending both historical and science fiction themes.
Imagining your story brings me so much joy that I feel like a little girl again. Although it’s not my story, I was captivated by strategy and war games as a child, immersing myself in them every day.
I had a similar experience with Ancient Conquest: The Golden Fleece, a naval RTS set in ancient Greece. Although I barely understood the game at first, I experimented with various strategies (often losing a lot) to avoid being completely annihilated in just five minutes. I discovered that if I collected 3,000 gold and 1,200 fish before the two-minute mark, I could build only bi-rammers, creating a slow but effective cascade effect that expanded my territory and suffocated the enemy team.
The most efficient way of exchanging resources for a kid who didn't have the ability to micromanage the ships' abilities, was to leave all the ships with the (ram) option activated and then they would automatically do it, and no ram ship is better than the one that was built specifically for this: the Rammer. It's fast, and cheap. The upgraded iron hulls made his attack enough to break a ship five times more expensive. And so I made an infinite army of them and distributed them all over the map, as if they were ants. And then I would just keep attacking like Zergs or Tyranids.

When he told me you just made units and they walked to the enemy base what I imagined was Warcraft 3 with no unit control which had confused me even more. My cousin hadn't clarified that it was 2d so I immediately assumed it was a proper RTS. Innocent times...

There was a game similar to Age of War that I used to play during my childhood, but I can't remember its name. If anyone knows, could you remind me?
The game was like Age of War, where we produced soldiers, and there was an opponent with a base we had to destroy. We could use three types of units:
    1. A unit that gathered wood and disappeared when it returned to the base.
    2. An archer unit.
    3. A melee combat unit.
The map stretched downwards in a sloping "\-shaped" path and symmetrically upwards toward the enemy base in a "/-shaped" way.
It was a simple game, but I don't know how to describe it on RUclips.

I would love if you could cover the Commando games, they were both insanely hard, frustrating but also epic as hell. Also banging music.

I'd argue Cat vs Dog and Sword and Sandals is the first flashgame most people exposed to.

House of wolves is really nice game with so little content in it. Wish they made some second game to upgrade it. I totally agree on house of wolves being the best game. Great vid

I remember that age of war 2 had a bug where you didn't actually need to buy the building to unlock units.

I remember exploiting house of wolves glitch where deleting the building let you summon units out of thin air and break the max unit limits, permanantly because when they died the unit numbers can go to negative and doesn't break game play at all.

8:54 Depending how much benefit of the doubt you want to grant him - infinite is never ending, but it doesn't mean the amount of power per amount of time is infinite.
I guess that would make it something like a true renevable, since the ones we have break after some time due to various factors - which means you might run out of resources used to collect them, and that fictional power source can generate power without breaking down the parts or whatever.

There was a game with somewhat similar graphics to the age of war 1 and it had two mages battle in a same arena design as what is in any moba game these days with minions and towers, but I can't find it, it was so good!

I actually think it is a great game. Top half of Flash Games at last. Army of Ages is the only one I revisit nowadays. But the games themselves are still solid.

I remember playing the Age of War trilogy many years ago instead of doing homework after school, tough I didn't know they Army of Ages were connected to Age of War, I just assumed it was similar game without any actual connection to each other. I must admit Army of Ages was my favourite amongst the three, though they are all solid in their own right. Also enjoyed House of Wolves and Tower of Doom, House of Wolves in particular being a solid flash game of it's time (still holds up decently probably tbh).
