I played the shit out of flash games when I was younger. Warlords, Sonny and Sinjid, Swords and Sandals, Feudalism, Fancy Pants, Chaos Faction, Raze, Age of War, Territory War, Arcane Castle, Achilles, Last Stand, Mastermind, Flash Trek, Epic War, Stick Wars, Epic Battle Fantasy... The list of amazing Flash games and animations was endless, these are probably only like the 10% of the Flash Games I can remember right now that I loved. Made me sad to see the end of Flash but these games will never leave my childhood memories.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that forgot this gem of a game, this, the last stand, warfare 1914/1944 and the age of war games were just straight up bangers back in the day
man those were amazing, those games made me love Men Of war: Assault Squad 2 and Arma 3. BTW you can still play most flash games by downloading the Flashpoint project, it's like an archive with every game that existed (I played warfare and age of war games recently)
Feudalism, Battle Gear, Siegius, Stick War, Warlords, Strategy Defense, Mud and Blood 2, Age of War, War and Beyond: Deadly Strategies, Warfare 1917/1944, Epic War, Miragine War... I used to play so many strategy games. Thanks for bringing my memories back
You have no Idea how many nights I spent searching for this game and trying to remember it's name after I played it so many years ago. God bless you and the algorithm that decided to randomly bring your video to my recommendations!
Graphics were definately best in the first imo. Just detailed enough you knew what was what but not enough details to look janky like the newer ones. It was like with swords and sandals where the more complicated the designs were, the more the rough edges really showed where you kinda just ignored the jank in the older ones because it was all simplistic enough to flow together. Warlords was one of those classic games, glad to see it still being put around
My brother caught me playing this one time, I told him it was almost the perfect game, he pushed me aside, put Mount and Blade on my computer. Hell of a core memory, thank you for the nostalgia trip

My god, every once in a while I'd get reminded of a game I loved playing as a kid and the wave of nostalgia hits like truck. Just last week I was reminded of the zombie game Last Stand.
There is a remake of Last Stand on Steam but be warned: it's BAD! Seriously, they removed everything that was cool like sending your extra guys on scavenging missions between nights. Instead you got clunky and unresponsive controls and a laggy game without any of the charm of the original. Who would have thought that a tiny flash game was more refined, fun and performative than a modern game.
"...My main site to play games on was Kongregate." Ah, fellow former Kongrade. I always went with the Human Alliance. They're generic, but so are most human-based factions in fantasy strategy games. Warlords (the whole series), autumn war, mud and blood, submachine, there are too many good ones to even remember all the names. Flash games were my whole childhood
The wood elves go crazy man, just get three of their souped up archers and then put a few swordsmen on front of them, and then proceed to rush mid. Even worked against the demons

Simplicity and clarity are honestly pretty great for visual appeal. You also get to fill in the gaps with your own imagination a bit, which I think is better than an overload of detail and a plethora of things to keep track of.
In either the second or third installment after winning 2 different campaings, or winning one and then with the demons, a new faction was unlocked. It was an Arnold Schwarzenneger terminator themed one. Does anyone remember? There was a T-1000 with a riot shiel and a baton, one with a machine gun, one flying similar to the T-1... and so on. And as people here have state I often remember the cool flash games I played as a child/teenager, like Fantasy Kommander, 1917 and 1944 and 1066 (a stick game of the viking invasion of england), there were some really cool games... sadly all gone since flash stopped working. I recently I remembered this game only I couldn't remember the name, so thanks for this video.
It was definitely warlords 2, but iirc you actually had to win 3 campaigns with different factions to unlock terminators. I was hoping someone would mention this in the comments though.
I have NEVER Stopped what i was doing harder than i did when i saw the thumbnail in my recommended tab. Flash games like this one made me the strategy gamer i am today.
I've lost track of the amount of hours invested into Warlords 2 over the decades. the game made up the backbone of Flash games of the day up there with the warfare duo, colony, last stand and Age of War. what a blast
When I was a kid my friend basically gave me an unbeatable strategy that I used all the time. Basically you flood one lane with archers and send out spearman from time to time to block in front. Eventually there will be so many archers in that lane that nothing survives, and the horde of archers going over will just overturn the bar in no time
I remember a spinoff of this game that turns it into a sidescroller hack-and-slash following Achilles. And I remember being able to soccer kick a decapitated head towards an approaching enemy.
Last time I was looking for flash games years ago, this was the one I was trying my hardest to remember. Absolutely the gateway flash game for me, love the simplicity of the original, just like with Swords & Sandals.
It was a part of my introduction to flash games and strategy games in general haha. There was an unmentioned race for the second game though, demons and the Terminator race were unlocked by beating the game and then beating it on the harder difficulty. Later on I played these games with younger members of my family. Kinda cool to see them mentioned
I forgot this game existed! I remember playing this a ton when I was a kid playing RuneScape. Also, got to say, loved that FGO reference at 0:42 with the class triangle; it was like seeing my present self interacting with my kid version of myself, which was pretty cool.

Oh my god, thank you. I've been on an old flash game binge recently and this was one of the few that I remembered what it looked like but not the name, and then I just so happen to get this in my recommended!
4:22 I disagree on the basis that the unit has a STUPIDLY LOW production time -- they produce even faster than halberdiers, and have better stats for the same weapon setup. While the single unit isn't great, if you can get 5 of them out for every kingsguard on the enemy side, it's still a massive W. Firstly, odds are they win the head to head. Even if they don't because unupgraded, you can still assault 5 separate lanes with them for 1 unit the enemy sends.
Great game, though the best race I think was anything that could spam lots of ranged attacks. Or troll waves. Those trolls killed super fast and had alot of snowballing.

Wow, what memories this game brings back. I played it so many times and my favorite factions were the humans and elves; I think there was another one that was like the undeads or some kind of demons, I don't remember well, but they were my favorites and I would conquer the entire map for hours on end. I think I just played the first two, I never touched the third one, I didn't even know it existed; of the three, I prefer the first one, it has a special nostalgic charm for me.
There are so many game ideas hidden away for decades on kongregate. I'm always sad that people are so slow to adapt these beauties to full games on steam. Go back to Warlords 1 style graphics (basically but colorful shitty pixel or vector art) and we are golden.
i personally loved warlords 2 When flash died, i was worried it in it's true form would be lost forever thank you ruffle for saving so many great games like this one
In the hacked version of the 2nd game you could play as an army of Arnold Schwarzenegger terminators with Hunter-Killers and the big tank terminators. I remember when you win a battle as them the ending quote would be "You are mine now! You belong to me!" in a terrible Arnie impression. Man that has been seared into my brain since childhood lol
This was MY LIFE and I feel SO BAD FORGETTING IT! Thank you SO MUCH for the trip down the memory lane. What a game this was. And the second I saw the skeletons I said "Yeah these guys had a special bonus...." and turns out they have the +/-3 when others have +/- 2
I remember playing the second Warlords game (or maybe the first?) when I was a kid. Maybe the game was just easy, but I recall using some sort of cheat that either lowered cooldowns or gave you unlimited charges. Thank you for making this video
I remember this. My favourite factions that I won with were the Night Elves, Undead, Human Alliance, and Men of the West. The Undead and Men of the West were pretty self-explainatory; the 3+ Halberd and 2+ Sword damage shredded, while the Night Elves and Human Alliance had broken special units - The Whirler and KIng's Guard had insane damage potential, usually taking out 5-6 units and making charges come one after another.
I used to love playing this game in school. I'd just spam spearman in the middle and eventually I managed to beat the Demons which seemed impossible at one point. Some of the unique units were so cool like the Axe Thrower, Troll, Javelin Thrower and King's Guard.
Warlords, Thing Thing, bowmaster prelude, Raze, bubble tanks, Enigmata. I replayed all of these games very recently and it made me realize how good we were eating with all these free-ass games being on the internet.

I was honestly dying for about 3 minutes when I saw the Skeleton Halberd spam, it was the exact move I did as a kid too. I also had no idea they made a 2nd one let alone a 3rd!
I can't believe I found this game. I used to play this when I was a kid, and some time ago, I was trying to remember the name of this game, but I couldn't find it, so I gave up. However, I would occasionally think about it. Today, I saw the thumbnail on my homepage, and I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I opened the video and liked it without watching a second of it.
Remember playing this k. Addicting games, my friend showed me this and even at 8 he knew undead halbeards were the way to go. Very simple graphics, timeless tho. It also taught me that if your opponent is strong in one place, attack where he is weakest. Honestly a great game. Whoever made this, I hope they’re in a good place (not Woodbridge VA)
Holy shit. Never thought I'd see this crop up in my lifetime again. Used to play this in class during middle school haha. One kid got the demon faction and we all freaked out.

Played this game in the room when I was waiting for my niece to be born didn’t remember till right now, very special memory for me and now, this game is special to me
I was honestly dying for about 3 minutes when I saw the Skeleton Halberd spam, it was the exact move I did as a kid too.
Warlords was definitely the catalyst for many young boys' interest into fantasy, military, and strategy games.
Just the thumbnail and making me remember the actual name of the game earns you a subscription.
Thanks for the nostalgia trip. This oddly reminded me of playing Feudalism as well.
The guns of Icarus music is a callback, I miss that game.
This is the biggest part of my childhood i had forgotte, thank you so much
This brings a huge grin on my face, man, this takes me back.
Holy shit. Never thought I'd see this crop up in my lifetime again. Used to play this in class during middle school haha. One kid got the demon faction and we all freaked out.
