With the fire emblem fates marathon over, It feels great to being doing videos about something different for a change, and what better way to kick this off, than by going back to monster hunter? Now I’ve already discussed which monster are my favourite and least favourite, however there is another set of monster I have yet to discuss, the subspecies! And today, I’m gonna be counting down which of them are my top favourite!

For anyone lost on what he's talking about, let me explain, basically, BlazingKnight and I were hunting Ivory Lagiacrus together, and the entire time, that thing was just getting staggered NONSTOP. Poor thing couldn't stand on it's legs for half a minute!

You didn't mention how the Stygian Zinogre sometime will just ignore you to walk around the field like a badass splashing out dragon lightning. He acts like a king in fights where the original is more like a rampaging child

Molten Tigrex is actually not classified as a subspecies. It is classified as a rare species, like Gold Rathian, Silver Rathalos, and Lucent Nargacuga.
Freedom Caliber it's still a sub species none the less technically

I'm pretty sure I was the one you were referring to in the Ivory Lagiacrus segment, I recently soloed a G-Rank one of those myself. those 50 minute timeouts really hurt. but a 49 : 30 clutch, that is the sweetest feeling in any video game.

funny how you mentioned that the Stygian Zinogre came from hell, because "Stygian" means "Of Styx" as in the river Styx, the river leading to the Greek underworld.

Actually I was referring someone else who watches my videos, and the time when we hunted the Ivory lagiacrus online and practically forced it into a corner and beat the crap out of it! Anyways glad you enjoyed the video and that's a very interesting fact about the Stygian zinogre I didn't know, you really do learn something new every day!
BLAZINGKNIGHT ah, you see I consistently forget that the world doesn't revolve around me. my mistake, but hey, sounds like a fun experience nonetheless.
Try not to forget it too often, and yes it certainly was a fun experience.
I pretty much agree with most of the choices and points you made, which are very good :D.
My favourite monsters are the ones that significantly change their behaviour, forcing you to come in with a different mindset and learn their new tricks.
My last favourite subspecies was the Raging Brachydios from MH4U, it went from "just keep hitting it wherever" to "pay attention to the slimed parts, don't hit it recklessly, and boy, teamwork is so important here, gunner class' efforts never had been so appreciated".
I can't wait for the worst subspecies list if that becomes a thing.
Not sure if you have been updated or not, but the Raging Brachydios is a Variant.
I wish there was a Deviljho subspecies that was black and glowed blue when angry!

Strangely I actually like the Gigginox, it's more a personal reason. When I first came up against it I got fucking destroyed. But I kept coming back and started to learn its patterns to the point where my friends are thought I was a god. Also the armour you get from it not only looked cool, but was helpful once I got rid of demonic blessing.
Oh, this is hard one. My 10 top subspecies...
1.Green Plesiot- Oh right, wrong list. Stygian Zinogre - It looks damn awesome!
2. Ivory Lagiacrus - Since it stayed more in ground than in water, I really liked it!
3. Shrouded Nerscylla - While I never fought it outside MHS, I really like its design.
4. Pink Rathian - In 3 and 4 I never could bring myself to kill it... I just captured them.
5. Ash Kecha Wacha - Fire Monkey was a fun fight.
6. .Azure Rathalos - If he would stay more in the ground, I would not have anything against it.
7. Sand Barioth - While whirlwind was a bit annoying, his armor set and weapons look awesome.
8. Tigerstripe Zamtrios - ...Well, it had to be here.
9. Purple Ludroth - ...No comments.
10. Molten Tigrex - While I have never won it... I really like it as it is slower than real one!
CrashX500, I've watched your videos and I gotta say you've definitely promoted your videos (pun intended.) I like your channel because you offer more variety in terms of top 10s in video games than I see with most channels. All you need to do now is do some kind of let's play (if you want). One last thing, please do 3-for-all Monster Hunter 4U vs Monster Hunter Gen. I really want to see your take on these games as a whole. Anyway, just enjoy life for now. :)
Thank buddy i'm glad you like my work and have noticed and appreciated the improvement made to my videos. I do plan to do more types of video including let's plays because my subscribers have pretty much been BEGGING me to do them, and I plan to do a monster hunter 3forall between 3U, 4U and generations.
I know Elders of his ilk don't get subspecies often, but an Alatreon subspecies that either flipped elements (ice and Thunder on the ground fire and Dragon in the air) or used all four at once would be amazing.
I would put Chaos Gore over Stygian Zinogre despite it being a varient

I bought my first Monster Hunter 2 months ago (now have 3 ultimate and 4 ultimate) and I did my fair share of hunting subspecies. Since I mostly hunt with my brother together, my first time hunting that dragon zinogre (on german it's called "Höllen- Zinogre", Hell Zinogre translated) and man, I wasn't prepared for him. I like the design of the normal Zinogre better, but his subspecies sure put on a hell of a fight! On top of that, I thought 'It's still a Zinogre, so let's take an Ice Weapon and put on an armor wich reduces electrical damage, that should be fine.' Turned out, it wasn't. He killed me after 5 minutes of running around in a panic after finding out he uses the dragon element. He screwed me up really hard. But I got his full armor and it's so cool! The female version (which is the one I use) has freakin' cute ears! Or horns. Whatever, still very cute. I have mixed feelings about him but I guess it's my fault since I didn't prepare properly first time, got traumatized (yes it WAS that bad you should've seen how he beat me up) and now still get scared when meeting him in a quest. And since I'm not that good of a hunter, my brother had to carry me through that battle and is still doing so. Yeah. I am not good >.>
Hey Blazing, remember what you said about the Sand Barrioth or the Monlten Tigrex or the Tigerstripe Zamtrios? Apply those tips to the giginox and fight it again...also bring 20 mega potions and 20 antidotes

Cody Hines I’ve heard of the series, but I didn’t actually look into the games until ProJared’s MH3U review, I got a 3DS, bought my best friend at the time a 3DS and the game and we tried it. It was so worth it.
I searched it up, and according to the wiki (may or may not be acurate) the red khezu has a unique neck thrusting attack and is "immune" to fire and weak to water.
I love how the shrouded nercylla can kill dragons but it can't kill a human with a little weapon

This is VERY late, but it’s pronounced Wrath-ian, similar to Wrath-alos. Nerscylla is pronounced Ner-Silla. I could be wrong but I think it’s pronounced Ti-grex (Ti with a long I, not with an E sound), I could be wrong though. I hope this helps anyone who has trouble pronouncing these monsters names. If you have a trouble with another monster, I’ll see if I can help! :)

Perhaps, I mean I already did a 3forall with fates and awakening, and it's hard to compare the three games when you take characters in consideration with stuff like revelations.

I like the one that looks like a bearded dragon, that got stuck in the middle of a bunch of bananas. He would make Harry Belafonte proud.
I like how a lot of the footage of gameplay is from some of my favorite RUclipsrs like Flik’s gaming stuff and Omega evolution. Also Silver Rathalos is my favorite subspecies in MH. It’s not cancer like blue and pink and it’s not piss easy like the normal Raths while still being ridiculously strong and seemingly wiser than the two other Raths.
Copper Blangonga? Terra Shogun Ceanataur? Lucent Nargacuga? Akura Jebia? Doragyurosu?
Fun fact... Azure Rathalos in it's introduction back in Monster Hunter G/Freedom 1, Azure Rathalos had a completely new sound-set with new roars and screeches which sounded dope as hell.

btw: Great list, especially your number 1 choice is a great one. in 4U it was so hard that i had to make a special set against him just to be able to solo him. And thats a thing i normally dont have to do. I mean, i soloed pretty much every monster in the game, except certain apex monsters and Shah Dalamadur, and i never had to deviate from my normal cookie cutter IG Set. Except for him.

Actually a huge fan of glacial agnaktor because of it introducing me to one of my favorite weapons because of design and use, the gun hammer.
surprised none of the elder dragon subspecies didn't make the list. Shah Dalamadur, oroshi kirin and the fatalis subspecies are awesome monsters.

I recently got monster hunter 4 ultimate, and I fought the Zinogre. After seeing it in action, and hearing the music, I now envision the Zinogre break dancing to its own battle theme, every time I think of it, for some reason.

My most favorite subspecies is a tie between Stygian Zinogre and the Queen of the Deep herself Abyssal Lagiacrus.
OH THANK GOD!!!! I know this video is a couple months old but I have to say how happy I am to see that Savage Deviljho, Furious Rajang, and Raging Brachydios are NOT on this list. These monsters ARE NOT SUBSPECIES, they are varients. Subspecies are entirely different versions.....varients are just slightly different... For example, Savage Deviljho is pretty much just a bigger, angrier Deviljho.....aaaand that's all im gonna say

The 4U high rank/3U G rank designs for both the gunner and blademaster Zinogre armors were better than the new ones imo. My favorite subspecies is probably either Ivory Lagiacrus or Glacial Agnaktor. I'm really sad subspecies are gone from Generations and XX though, it makes the game a lot less varied.
Haven't played Monster Hunter before but it looks pretty cool. Might pick it up!
Tidal Najarla needs a Honorable mention just because it brings a couple new things to the table and feels a little different.

Apex tidal is the reason Hydrolic is disagreeing with you +Garmr since Apex Tidal Najarala is the bane of many G rank 4U players for being Blademaster unfriendly with the weakspots. I myself also despise the Tidal Najarala

Number 1... this might be from my hit and run style but I didn't know about the 3 attacks. Also hit and run dual blades is a fun, yet unusual fighting style.
Hit and run dual blades work surprisingly well for stygian zinogre, especially in arc demon mode.

but i wanted to clarify one point about this list:
monsters like molten tigrex, gold and silver raths or abyssal lagiacrus are not subspecies but rare species, sometime called variant species.
also MHGen features deviant monsters. (i think you called them variants, not really important tho)
so yea i'll hope you'll make a worst subspecies video (not featuring my boy the abyssal lagia, you can't hate him just because of water combat)

I HATE the Pink Rathian because when I played 3 ultimate I used Rathian armor a lot and it kind of became my thing so I decided to get Pink Rathian armor and the poison makes me very angry

how do you make your intro to your channel and what software do you use for all those special effects you did, and how do you move your character and how do you make the animation for the top 10 countdown, please teach me so i can improve my channel
All of this is done in adobe premiere and for the intro I drew the images along with the text and animated them over fire backgrounds and footage of fire for the last part of the intro. For the animations in the video, I use the effect controls on each image and key frames to change what it does on the timeline, which allows me to make the images move, stretch, spin and all that jazz. Most of this stuff you learn just by messing around with the software, but I hope I've pointed you in the right direction.

Well i'm gonna upload my next video later tonight and I'm going to be doing pokemon as my next video. I don't think it'll be able to release it BEFORE sun and moon come out, but it should be up within that time frame, and don't worry I won't say anything bad about charizard, I like charizard

I haven't watched this vid yet, but my personal LEAST favourite is the purple ludroth.
You can wear wroggi armor, but you will still get killed by its DEVASTATING normal attacks.
You can wear high defense armour, but then you're at risk of poison.
So. Dang. Annoying.

I have no problems when fighting the tigrex and gigginox probably because i went wroggi armor on gigginox and he's still way better than that other monster that looks like it.

The tigerstripe zamtrios?...yes it's so much different than the standard formula with its mobility, fat ass form, and the fact that it spams hydro pump all day, and that's why the paralysis weapons are not worth it on my list >.< ...but I love Glacial Agnaktor and Stygian Zinogre, neither are in my unreleased top 5 but they are awesome regardless!

can't do top 10 mh games because I've only played 4 f them, but flagship monsters I might do, however I have already talked about most of them in previous lists.

I would ask your opinion on generations, but MHXX was announced and I want to know your opinion on it so far.
So far generations is cool and it's certainly a love letter to long time monster hunter fans, but after just coming off monster hunter 4, it's not that much different.
