----------------
In this clip, Large Professor listed some of his favorite hip-hop producers and attempted to keep his list to five but added a few other names in the mix. He also gave his take on the nature of hip-hop's sound as it transitioned away from the sample-based tracks more toward synthesized sounds to avoid lawsuits. - Развлечения
Large Professor might be the coolest brutha on the planet lol
pharoh00 yea!!
Word yo....thats my man right there b.... Word to life kid...
Lol true thing. The brother is so positive. I always thought he was probably mean af. Because of his rhyme style. But dude is super humble.
Don’t forget about David Blake. Aka DJ Quick
titanaup 💯
Overall not a bad series of interviews with large professor but couldve asked less about nas and more about hip hop in the 80s. Had him paint a picture for those who dont know about red alert and mr.magic. couldve asked him more about queens in the 80s and 90s. His opinion on the east coast /west coast beef. Got some unheard stories out of him. This interview couldve been so much more if the nas infatuation didnt take over.
Well said. I feel the same way.
Thank you. And LG is such a cool, modest dude he didn't care about spending time chatting about Nas.
ABSOLUTELY! I wish Vlad would’ve asked about Paul C.
he has to save a lot more material for the next round of questions when he gets them on again. A lot of people don't realize that and think Vlad is stupid. That's where they always make the mistake. If he was so stupid and uneducated about hip-hop large professor wouldn't even fuck with him.
@esco1972... interesting point. Sounds like you should've did the interview
I'm stuck in the 90's Hip Hop era.
Me too, that's what I tell everybody.
nothing wrong wit that bro....
That’s the last era. Hip Hop end for me with Scarface’s “The Fix”
AZ still upholding the path. The Lox..probably forgetting something but really, nobody is bringing them bar except for the battle MCs
@@jasonparker8277 LOX are stronger than ever. Group album was crazy. Sheek put out like 3 strong albums in a year. Jada's album was great. And Styles been on a GOAT run for years.
Glad he mentioned Diamond D...
I met Fat Joe in LA once and all we talked about was Diamond!

4. Q-Tip
5. Lord Finesse
Nice list I would include beatminerz for Lord Finesse tho but that's just my opinion
I’m putting Kanye in this maybe 6.
Alchemist #1 now and for about six years now
Definitely miss samples. It kept older music fresh. There were so many songs I heard in samples that I went back to listen to and was so amazed of the song and how the song was sampled
Havoc & Alchemist are always in my top 5
I was thinking about Havoc
Yesssss...I was just thinking that..Havoc is a beast on them boards.
Ant banks?
Dilla and muggz?
Bobcat? Johnny J ?

@Stuck in the 90s That's a dope underground top 5. I always liked Damu's production...underrated as fuck. If I had to make one, I would say...
1. Exile
2. Lord Finesse
3. Da Beatminerz
4. Showbiz
5. Nujabes/Saukrates/Da Grassroots (can't decide lol)
Respectable list. ❤️
Good selection
You always knew what you were getting from him, that NY sound. Being from Queens, I've always had a sense of pride of its long history and contribution to hip-hop. The bridge wars, the west coast battles...Queens always represented. Large Pro never got the real recognition he deserved, but his body of work says it all. Much respect to the Large Professor.
@@tochiRTA Idk...The Bronx, Diamond D, Showbiz. Queens, Havoc, Large Pro. Brooklyn, Premier, he worked with a lot of Brooklyn artist when he moved there. But producers from the same borough didn't always sound the same and they worked with rappers from other boroughs. They all had their own sound, you knew whose beat it was when you heard it, especially a Premier beat.
Alot of people don't know this but i was a ghost producer on nas albums! Tk. Kirkland..

Dj quik pete rock...Large Pro has a good aura lol
OGGOAT_ _ He didnt mention Quik them east coast niggas never fully respected him and he run circles around most of them niggas
tochiRTA What'cha mean?
tochiRTA You either a east coast nigga or a MC Eiht fan still bitter bcuz he lost that beef.Quik is ten times better than your favorite producer and can make dope music for any genre and produce for any rapper from any coast.Plays several instruments, rap, produce,dj,engineer, mixer.Aint shit he can't do in the studio. He the Quincy Jones of Hip Hop but he just underground.Have you even listened to the Rosecrans album, the Book of David or The Midnite Life? Stop being lame,he aint gotta be your favorite but even NY niggas will put him in the top 20 even though he definitely top 3.The only person i might put over him is Pharrell but he aint all the way hip hop he all over the place

I hope I didn’t miss one of the other parts but I’d love to know Extra P’s thoughts on his The LP album recorded in the mid-90s which was shelved by Geffen and then released independently in ‘09. Album is a true classic that missed its mark. Kind of like this interview where we’re learning so little about him.
1. DJ Premier (The MASTER!!!)
2. Marley Marl (The Pioneer!!)
3. Pete Rock
4. RZA
5. Large Professor/Dr. Dre/The Bomb Squad. LOL

Rza is the best of all time and way above everyone else. Everyone talks about Dre, but don't realize how influential the Rza has been on hip hop culture. Even til this day young pros like Metro Boomin are taking tidbits from the Rza style.
The RZA damn near dominated a whole decade of hip hop in the 90's. When people talk about how trash today's rap music is, and it is, you always hear that hip hop was better back in the Wu-Tang days. Beats were great and lyrics actually meant something and had mad personality. Salute RZA
