Agreed! I know he's always surrounded himself with great musicians but THIS band is surely up there as the best. Phil Palmer himself speaks really highly of it.
I have seen BB King, Robben Ford, Peter Green, Robert Cray, John Mayer and after 25 years of passionately listening to guitar music...EC is the only one who has made me cry with a single note or bend.
I can proudly say i have met the man, shook his hand, exchanged a few words, got his autograph, and he is a true English gentleman, was always a fan since my teens.Through Eric i feel i connected with JJ Cale and BB King (to name but a few of my heroes)so thank you Mr.Eric Clapton sir . little guy from Palermo Sicily, summer 2001,down the Kings road London on a Sunday morning.(will never forget that day).
Luckiest man alive. I am 21 years old and I have seen him for the first time 1 month ago( September 20). When the show finished I felt empty and full at the same time. My only wish was to see him live every time he played, even though I positively knew it was the last time he was coming to Argentina, but at the same time, I saw the greatest musician to wield a guitar. Cheers
I had to listen again. I didn't know this was out there. Hey, Mr I saw Eric with Cream at the Spectrum . JFK was my sandbox and the Phila Spectrum was my playpen. Listen up. Never ever ever ever again say out loud that you (hope) to meet Eric someday. Instead repeat daily & often "someday I am going to meet Eric Clapton face to face and when I do..............................." I did the same for 18 yrs and one sweet nite in Philly it happened. If it's your dream own it man. I could feel your passion for the artist. Hope this wasn't offensive I just really want you to meet him. 🎸✌
Kimberly Blood Thank you for your beautiful comment. I appreciate it. There are 14 audio videos you would like on my 10bohemian channel. Eric Clapton with the National Philharmonic Orchestra on Feb 10 1990. There is a playlist there. Enjoy.
@@10bohemian thankyou I'm so glad I didn't sound rude. And I will check out your other video's,your commentary's are a real treat. If ya remember tell Eric hi for me when you and your wife meet him. I'll be rooting for ya's. Lol.✌
This is the "LACED" version of the performance in London, England - March 3, 1991 pubblished by Mid Valley Record. Release 168/169. Awesome Recording. Professional one. One of the best recording and sessions of the RAH runs of the 9 pieaces Band for the 24 nights project. I always loved this version, but if you can I recommand you the "Play with Fire" version, with so much energy much more energy, recorded in the London, England - February 17, 1991 - Mid Valley Records - MV 005/006 releasing. TOP of the versions of that run for mr Slowhand.
Thx for the recommendation. 'Shot' is, IMO, Eric's standout live track. Each version contains something different. Here for me it's the intro duet with Phil Palmer; then Nathan's lovely lead into the solo, building up the tension just right before Eric hits that note - and then he's away.
There were two live single CDs released along with 24 Nights. One includes Wonderful Tonight and the other with I Shot The Sheriff - this one. There are similar extended versions of this tune on other EC discs, but this version is the best, in my not so humble opine. It really is worth tracking this [single] CD down.
This is absolutely the best version ever with the best sheriff solo ever, better than hyde park and japan. I have this file well saved because it is really rare and i didn’t share cause i am lazy. Thanks god you did
Eric has done other versions as good and some with more spontaneous playing,, changing it up more,, this is still a very smooth almost seamless solo ,,,, his feeling is supreme
I have listened countless versions of THIS song....My fauvotite IS one braoadcasted by BBC , February 1991, very similar to THIS one....It IS not only ThE solo....his singing line was AMAZING....but I MUST say ThE Groove in this one IS ....My God!
@@pabloperez4063 , watch the one from 2004 in Dallas at the Crossroads concert. Its the mother of all Sheriff solos! Maybe onebof his finest solos if all, right up there with Dont think twice from the Dylan tribute concert
@@robmorrison1043 ThE tone Eric had between 2004-5 is one of ThE worst for me .... Crossroads festival 04 crashguitar sounds awful to me....however , RAH 1990 And 1991....love it

Everybody is talking about Eric only... doesn't make any sense. This was his best band ever! Their sound and their groove was amazing.
Pure joy ❤
agree 100%. best band. best arrangements. best sound.
What a band! I know there's Phil Palmer, and must be Nathan on bass. Drums - Steve Ferrone? Backing - Katie Kissoon??

One of the BEST solos he does...Absolutely LOVE IT..I just seen him at PPG Paints arena in May of this year and it was PHENOMENAL
I've seen him 43 times first time was in Chicago with Muddy Waters 1979
Learn to play his material and try to get his attention.

Brandon P. Yes - you are correct. I left out Old Love after I Shot the Sheriff.
If there’s a detraction it’s all this nonsense you go on about,,,, you should just upload a photo & the sound track : that’s all
WTF is that ?
Yusuf - one of the best guitar solos in history !!!!! Hope you enjoyed it.
