Hmm I know this works too. This was how I did it before I knew that Live2d recognizes an edited .psd file and replaces the parts. But I would recommend this as a 2nd option to replace parts, if editing the .psd messes up the draw orders/layers placement. Because with this method, you'd have to add new texture mesh, update the texture atlus, drag it into the correct layer position and deformer hierarchy. Its a lot more work. Thanks for mentioning this Garo!
@@KappakoChannel hey, I know this isnt a good workflow for changing earlier work, but would it be a good way to add a new outfit, or would you rather add a new layer to the psd, reupload to l2d, and then copy settings as a start?
@@rickmercy4413 i couldnt find this comments so im sorry for the late reply! so if you want to add a new outfit, you can update your old psd file or import a new psd file into the same live2d file. Either way works the same because youll need to re rig the new outfit by adding new deformers and parameters.

i feel like theres some limitations with the 7th tip since it reflects the eye exactly, including things like shines in the eyes which should be pointing the same way, and doesnt exactly work for heterochromic eyes. Unless It is possible to replace the new copy pasted eye with the one that was hidden/deleted..?
yes reflect works for the majority of vtuber designs but not for heterochromic eyes. I would deform the new eye overlapping the reflected eye and then delete the reflected eye
Can you help me please, I already added rotation deformers to my model's arms and now I'm trying to add a rotation deformer to the upper part of the body and when I click "create" this always pops up: please create an object with the same parent deformer selected. What should I do to fix it and add a rotation deformer to the upper body with finished head and hand rotation deformers. Any tip would be very useful! 😓
For the "please create an object with the same parent deformer selected" pop up, you can fix it by putting all the textures in one warp deformer. You dont have to deform it, just use it as a folder.
So I made the R Eye parameters in the L... that's what happens to me for not knowing that they are inverted by the camera... (plus I don't speak English)
i just want to ask about the last one : so my oc have 2 different eye color and different pupil , if i do what you did i will end up coping the whole eye or just the movements?
Do you mean 360 so you see the side profile and then the back of the head? Thats not something 2d models do. Im not sure if theres any 2d models that do that. Its a lot of work and Im wont be attempting it, sorry >
Hey i mean there is not a single live 2d tutorial. That teaches us how to make full 3d character? Where this software called to make fake 3d characters but in yt there is only front character view videos. Is it possible that you can make a tutorial of full 360°.
Thanks for the fast reply Palash. Sorry but 2d vtuber models are made using live2d, which takes 1 artwork and stretches and squeezes it to make it took like its moving side to side. So to get the 2d model to turn 360 degrees, you would need at least 3-4 full artworks (front facing, side profile, 1/4 of the face, back of the head). Its a lot of work, and once you finished rigging it in live2d, there isnt a 2d face tracking software that will recognize more than side to side head turns. So all the extra angles will be wasted unless you create your own program. If you want 360 view of your model, you need to use 3d vtuber models. These are the different strengths of 2d and 3d models, and this is why the professional vtubers usually have both for different occasions.
Hey!! thanks for this tutorial!! what would be the best way to do animations that like, don't involve the character model at all? Like, for instance, you want to hide the character model for the duration of the animation, and then play another image or something, if that makes sense?
Thanks for the question! Im not sure what youre describing tbh. If you want your model to turn invisible, then you can create a new parameter that controls the opacity of the textures. At keyform 1, all the textures are 100% opacity. At keyform 0, the textures are 0% opacity.
Okok so first time trying to understand this stuff. So i create a model by drawing it out, each limb is a different layer...does it need a separate layer for shading too?
Sorry i forgot about the eye highlight! It shouldnt be reflected. So follow the steps I instructed in the video, select everything for the eye but deselect the eye highlight, and reflect everything normally. But for the eye highlight, for each keyform selected, you need to shift+drag it to the right eye. Hello! I'm completely new at Live2d and was wondering what the command was for undo? For example, if I'm testing a rotation deformer and want to revert the part to it's original position, what do I do?
I want to try making vtuber models but I'm not sure if I need face tracking to rig a mini sample? I'm not planning on rigging but I thought a moving example would catch more attention...
You plan on taking commissions for the art of Live2d models? If you're planning to have a rigged example as a showcase, then rigging is the hard part, the face tracking is the easy part. You just upload the files to a free program, connect your webcam, and record your screen. What was the question you were asking XD
Yup, that's what I wanna try! Oh it's just I don't think my phone will handle any program for the face tracking and that would be my only camera. So I was wondering if I could make the model move manually instead! Nothing fancy, just blinking lol xD
You can create animations in Live2d, so that can help you showcase your model without needing a face tracking program. I have zero experience with animations so I cant help you there!
Soooo... I don't need to make 2 eyes? I just need to copy and revert? Can I do the same in the hair and everything else? That's interesting Be the way, my English is pretty bad and I having trouble to get exactly what is being said in the 7° tip, can someone make a subtitle? 🥺
Yes, you dont need to draw/rig 2 eyes, even in my art, one eye was a copy and reflect of the other eye. For hair, you can copy and reflect one side for the other, if your hair is mirrored down the center. But most art has hair that'd side swept or different, so you cant copy and reflect. #7: delete the other eye, copy and paste the deformers and textures of the finished eye, right click on the canvas and choose reflect. Use change to switch left and right parameters, use adjust to switch the keyform numbers.
Would it be possible to re-import an eye texture but also keep the previous one? I want to add different textures for my eyes and keep the mesh, but even if i copy one eye beforehand all eyes get changed :(
I lost my trial cause I spent so much time drawing my avatar (restarting it I mean) and now I can’t save or export it is there a way to export and save without the pro version?
I'd just reflect the other eye as I showed in the video. When you're done, delete the iris and replace it with the different colored iris. You would need to manually rig the new iris to blink, but good news is that you don't have to rig the eyeline/eyelashes cause that's the hardest part to make symmetrical.
I'm having a bit of trouble animating the eyelids to open and close while the head is in another position like tilted because they just return to their original spot when closing, how do I fix this?
Quick question, what happens to my saved model file if I delete live2d? (Cus the keyforms in parameters are not moving at all and I think that it's Live2D having lag issues so I was planning to uninstall Live2D, but im still not sure if it will affect my saved model file.)
you can add another layer in your original psd file then import it, or you can import a new psd file with only the new part. I recommend trying the first method so you have less psd files to work with

Are you able to only copy the deformers onto the 2nd eye snd not the textures if say the 2 eyes are different colors?
I'd just reflect the other eye as I showed in the video. When you're done, delete the iris and replace it with the different colored iris. You would need to manually rig the new iris to blink, but good news is that you don't have to rig the eyeline/eyelashes cause that's the hardest part to make symmetrical.
I love your voice ;u;
Thank you Acesu ecchii megumi
I'm having a bit of trouble animating the eyelids to open and close while the head is in another position like tilted because they just return to their original spot when closing, how do I fix this?
remove the eye textures keyforms for head xyz angles, those should be controlled by a warp deformer.
um.. my hair color suddenly brightens, are there any tips on how to adjust the color , or do i have replace it.
yep you can adjust the color with add and multiply blend modes
I just installed the free version and why is the menu fonts are so frickin small? It's annoying since I can barely see anything
Hm I havent had this problem myself. Maybe check your monitor's display resolution?
how to select more than one thing at the same time? I've been trying to figure out, but I can't
shift + click to select everything or control + click to select specific items
@@KappakoChannel Thanks!
Quick question, what happens to my saved model file if I delete live2d?
(Cus the keyforms in parameters are not moving at all and I think that it's Live2D having lag issues so I was planning to uninstall Live2D, but im still not sure if it will affect my saved model file.)
as long as you save your .cmo3 file, you can reinstall live2d and continue to work on your model with all the keyforms and parameters
Uh.. a simple question- but it's hard for me sooo
How can I make my oc bigger-
I can't see it kdkdcmdmdkdm it's so small *ahhhhhh*

Hold down ctrl key and click
This is just shows up on my recomended, and i think i already like this .-.
I'll subscribe,but sorry i'll turn off the bell ;-;
Thanks NNR!
How to add another part?
you can add another layer in your original psd file then import it, or you can import a new psd file with only the new part. I recommend trying the first method so you have less psd files to work with
Noice!
Thanks Banfi
