Hey, wouldn't the more solid all metal vs rubber bushing wear the hole out of round on the frame mount as the weakest point? Should I pre weld something to reinforce the frame hole, it looks like only 3/16" thick o. Moth sides of the track bar.
I just bought the Carli track bar for my 06 Cummins with a Kore suspension set up . Wat is the right measurement to have from hole to hole? Believe the front is lifted by 2 inches
Hello Cole! I tried reaching you as well as to purchase parts to fix my vehicle. Person on the phone was littler no help and said you were not reachable!!!
I have a Carli track bar in my 2007 3500. It has about 1/4 to 3/8 flex. Its the only movement in my suspension. I have lateral movement from frame to my steering as I'm driving down the road. I feel like I need to call Carli for a warranty issue, what do you think?
Hi Mark, there are a lot of variables here. Depending on the date you purchased the track bar you may have the bushing in your track bar. Which is a wear item that may need to be replaced over time. You also could have a loose jam nut. This is something we will be addressing in another video. Feel free to reach out to us if you purchased it from us for help!
Totally normal for the bar to flex slightly while rocking the wheels with the truck in park. If there’s no joint deflection, a bit of bar flex under this incredibly high leverage scenario is acceptable and substantially less than what you’d see out of a factory bar. The 3/8” wall material used is massively strong and there’s no way to eliminate the flex. Make the bar too strong and you’ll rip the frame and axle bracket off as the bar’s strength already exceeds the bracket strength by a good bit.
Any specific reason why no one makes a cast iron adjustable track bar for a 2012 Ram 2500? It would be stronger than anything out there and may eliminate wobble from my truck and plenty others and a cast iron drag link and tie rod while your at it with replaceable tie rod ends. That is the only suspect I think on my truck now from trying to solve it for years , extremely frustrating. YOU listening CJC ?
I'd say the main reason nobody has spent the money on this, is the aftermarket options currently on the market work quite well. Bar deflection is not really an issue. Most Ram front end issues stem from sub par joints.
CJC Off Road still I think less deflection would be better , it’s allready done for jeeps and rams 14-18 (rough country) but not for 2013 or older. Thanks fer your reply CJC but eventually this will be done by some one . I guess we will see who does it first , I’m just tired of waiting for it
Make sure you have a positive caster as much as possible like +6. Oem spec max is 4 something but thats not enough for stock, you will not get more wear, just straighter tracking, and more forgiving vs wobble. call up an off road shop that does alignment and ask about + caster esp if you have a lift vs death wobble ;)
Not really. The bushing setup on the previous design worked just find for many many years and is still in use by other manufactures. This bar was mainly designed to reduce installer errors with the jam nuts.
The new bar is heavier wall with preloaded joint isolation and less failure points. Newer is better in this situation but, if your old bar is working fine, keep it. They’re all serviceable and should last a lifetime.
Anyone making statements that Carli track bar failures are due too installer error is either mis-informed, uneducated, extremely arrogant and or a paid spokesperson. Consumers spending $435 for a product where failure could potentially cause threatening consequences are more likely to follow installation instructions. My application required no lengthening. After locking the track bar into a vise attached to my receiver stinger I used a 4 foot breaker bar and torqued the jam nut in excess of 225lbs, and used the required loktite and still experienced FAILURE in less than two years. If the jam nut held when properly torqued and locked to spec why the change? Carli performance knows full well the design is prone to failure due to defects in materials and still denied my warranty claim. I will not be replacing a poorly designed track bar with another as the problem goes deeper than simply changing to a tapered jam nut. The threaded bar and jam nut is simply not strong enough to perform the functions of a track bar. Those considering Carli's track bar please know I followed the installation instructions to the letter and then some and still experienced failure. I purchased my 06 Dodge brand new drive and drive my pickup daily under the lightest conditions apart from pulling a 5th wheel trailer.
Jam nuts are used in thousands if not hundreds of thousands of applications worldwide, many if which require a lot more strength than a Ram track bar. While I can appreciate the frustration of having an issue with an expensive part, this is not a "known" issue. At our shop alone, at least 5 trucks a week leave with these track bars. Add in the hundreds we ship out a month and we would be fully aware of an issue if there was one. Believe me when I say we don't have the staffing to handle the calls of hundreds of people that would come if these bars had some major issue. Best of luck in your hunt for a new track bar.
Hey Scooter! How about all the folks out here that have completely stock Ram trucks and use the hell outta them pushing over 275k miles... with no issues!??... stop your whining ya dumbass
@CJCOffRoad How can I alleviate any issues as I'm right in the middle of a Thuren/Carli combo front end rebuild out here in the desert? Thank you in advance from McDermitt Nevada
Those trac bars are junk. I had one and no matter what the jam nut came loose. I bought he new rough country trac ba r for the 17 ram and not had a problem since.
That is most likely because Rough Country uses a pinch bolt design. If you follow the steps in this video, a Carli or similar design track bar will not come loose. Thanks for watching!
Red lock tight should be included in the kit.
Anyone installing something like this should already have lock tight

Is the Carli track bar better than a 2018 Ram 2500 OEM track bar?
Have a bilstien 5160 2.5” tuned coil front end leveling kit.
The Carli track bar is night and day better. The joints and overall tube stiffness are a huge upgrade!
