So it's come up a couple times in the comments and I think it's worth a little clarity. I did not want to max out the stock springs with a full payload because it will drive horribly on and offroad. The Carli springs can handle a higher weight capacity, but the trucks GVWR does not change. The truck will handle much, much better with these new higher capacity springs since I will pretty much be maxing out the trucks official payload.
@@pistolpanda4582 Remember the rear is set up to have a significant amount of weight added! He's not using the normal coils traditionally included with that system.
What a pleasant experience to listen to the owner of CJC being able speak clearly, effectively, and with a very educated mind & voice about the product he's selling. These are the types of people I would do business with.
I have a 19 PowerWagon who is in desperate need of a 2.5 carli pintop kit. Just imagine the life you can change with one simple donation. **in the arms of an angel playing with sarah mclachlan staring into your heart and soul to give** anyways, solid looking rig with great suspension installed by solid team.
I have the same kit on my '22 Power Wagon with 37's and I can confirm that the ride, both on-road and off-road is excellent. I also added air bags on the rear to adjust the rear height when towing my trailer. If you want the most capable full size truck then Carli King and Power wagon are a match made in Heaven!
The video clip in your intro (0;27) scene is my all-time favorite, I must have watched and paused that clip a dozen times in that trip video with your son. 👍
Regarding GVWR, normally I do not support going above it, but with the PW we need to apply some personal engineering judgement. The PW GVWR is purposely downgraded solely due to the soft factory springs. It has (essentially) the same frame as a dually, the same AAM 11.5 rear axle, and brakes equal to a 3500 SRW. Therefore if we upgrade the springs, the sole weak link is removed. Functionally, there're absolutely no issues up to the rear spring / tire capacity. I'd feel very comfortable exceeding the artificially lowered factory GVWR in this case.
Love seeing two of my favorite RUclips channels collaborating like this to create awesome content. The PW looks amazing. Literally perfect stance. It makes me really want one lol. Can’t wait to see what’s going in the back and to see what journeys you take it on. Cheers Brad!
I knew I had seen you before. I was checking out the camper in an earlier video and I was like, “I’ve seen this guy before.” I watch a ton of CJC videos. I’m waiting on my f250 tremor from ford. I order it late September and I still don’t have a build date. The dealer has the Carli suspension, wheels, and tires ready to go though when it comes. We have a 27 foot Winnebago at the moment because we have two small kids, but my wife and I can’t wait to downsize to something like you have! It looks perfect. Have fun touring!
That is awesome to see and made my wallet starting to cry a couple minutes ago.....I was looking at their stuff so many times and especially after seeing that there is a company who tests their parts on each of our trucks(PowerWagon, Diesel & Co.) is great. Its not like you are getting a mainstream suspension that is designed for the whole product lineup of RAM its made for each model. Thanks Brad for showing and making my decisions for my 2nd Power Wagon that is coming soon, way easier now. Great content as usual!
After you said you were excited to get it out on the road, i thought you were going to say and then I'm going to give it a doug score. crossed my channels for a second there.
you couldn't of picked a better place to have it done. those are some great folks to work with. they did a lift on a f 350 for me 3 or 4 years ago I've put almost a hundred thousand mile on the Carli lift and been proud of it. Hope to get back out there in the next couple of month and do the same to my power wagon a twin to your other than than the side tool boxes
Your truck looks fantastic. That suspension system is definitely a huge expense for any average Joe or Jill out there, at $5545.00 for the pin-top kit and $3050.00 additional for their other options the kit offers. I'm sure there's also shop labor on top of that. Kinda seems completely unobtainable for most people.
Good to go with anything from Carli. Great choice. I have a ‘16 Ram 1500 with the Carli Performance system. Been running it for about 3 years now and wouldn’t change to anything else. Haul a 3300 lb travel trailer with it regularly as well as lots of off roading in CA AZ CO and UT. ZERO issues. Only thing is have done is regularly grease the CST uca’s
You know carli is good, because everything carli is so hard to get ahold of now. I'm swapping over, but I had to go with dynatrac ball joints because I can't wait 8 weeks for carli to hopefully become available. Parts are on the way, some are already here. Can't wait to get it all together and hit the trails before snow falls... just around the corner.
The PW is looking good sir. That kit gave it a great stance. Wish there was a CJC here in Fla. I’ve called and chatted them up. Great group. Very knowledgeable. Yet but another great video!!
I'm so glad to see this upgrade. You really have me considering the RAM Power Wagon, Brad, and after seeing these guys do this upgrade on the suspension for you, you have me wanting to drive to California for this upgrade when I finally do go and get the Power Wagon. I love the fact that it comes with so much like the winch and the lockers stock, not to mention the power under the hood. I actually saw the 4x4 camper you put on this; it pretty nice that it collapses and pops up when you get ready to use it to camp. I'm not sure I want the camper, but I know that was a big move for the sake of your wife, which I think is awesome of you! Thank you so much for sharing this upgrade with us all. This guy is super smart and still tried to break it down in to simpler terms for us all. Great Video!

I looked at a Tundra as well. But the 6 cyl turned me off and now the engines are being recalled. My PowerWagon is flawless. It will leave a Tundra in the dust with a front locker. But to each their own. Hope you enjoy your Tundra!
For what it's worth the BFGs run almost an inch under the stated size, so doing a 37/13.5 from Nitto or Toyo would give a much bigger look under the truck even though the size is the same on paper!
The answer is no, you do not need to lift it. I'm clearing 37s on my 2019 Power Wagon with OEM suspension. I rock crawl and I climb up and through the same shoots Jeep Rubi's do. This kid does not change the clearance. The fender clearance is set by up travel bump stops which are not affected by this lift kit. The Carli 4.5 kit does lower the bump stops 1 inch which will change the fender clearance.
Everybody wants that Hemi sound, until they have them Hemi problems. I found my Prospector XL more fitting, however we’re working on 2 more inches and Carli components to help with the ride. Should be mint! 👌🏼 Also.. can’t wait to see which camper you’re going with. 😜
Haven’t had or heard of any problems with the 6.4 or the new 8 speed, and I’m on the forums a lot. Sounds like something a diesel snob would say (or a Ford or Chevy fanboy).
Always cool to watch someone drop 60-80k on buying and modding a toy that most can't afford. Also what makes their shocks so special is they are made for the power wagon... pretty sure engineer chose shocks design for their trucks as wellm
Can you or CJC comment on the ride quality of the heavier capacity rear springs vs normal PW Carli springs. And PS I would rather maintain the factory like rake rather than leveling.
The +2 rear coils used in this video are a stiffer spring rate than the +1 coils Carli traditionally includes with this system, so the ride is still significantly better than stock, but firmer than what would normally be felt with the +1s when empty. Once you weigh the truck down with gear though it feels just like it was designed to ride! Those +2s are designed for trucks with a few hundred pounds of gear in the bed (aka a RTT, Decked system etc).
@@TrailRecon Just a thought. That front intercooler guard will get hung up depending on where you take your PW. I know on mine it would have by now. Either way your truck is coming along nicely. I run 37s on mine too and store my spare on my Front Runner bed rack.
Very expensive like $5000? Maybe one day after my 17 is paid off. I am pleased to hear your capacity actually goes up. Thuren is another PW suspension upgrade, but you lose payload with softer springs so that ain't gonna work for me.
Hey Brad like the lift kit install video, just gonna throw something out no you don’t want to respond yet but I have a feeling you’re about to add a slide in camper..?????
@@TrailRecon You are a huge inspiration! Although I have an opposite approach to overlanding and exploring: do it with the bare minimum in my 2-door Rubicon!
I hope you are planning a session at the Weigh Station; I'd love to see what a rig like this ends up at. Love your truck. Any reliability issues? Some friends of ours dumped their Ram recently.
The truck looks awesome!!! I have a stock 2020 PW and had an awful time this past winter with axle wrap in 6+ inches of snow. The truck was totally crippled! Would not go anywhere. Without the winch I was calling it home until spring. Had a stock 2014 F-150 drive around me on the hill effortlessly! Will this system fix this issue inherent on these Power Wagons? I need help. Can’t live through another winter like that! Jack

Very expensive like $5000? Maybe one day after my 17 is paid off. I am pleased to hear your capacity actually goes up. Thuren is another PW suspension upgrade, but you lose payload with softer springs so that ain't gonna work for me.
looks great with the new suspension, question do you have a video of the communication radio that you have on the RAM, and why that antenna? Salads
You had some rattles during the test run, so I hope you took it back for retightening after giving it a shakedown.
Truck looks really good!
Hey Brad like the lift kit install video, just gonna throw something out no you don’t want to respond yet but I have a feeling you’re about to add a slide in camper..?????
You already spilled the beans in your instagram, so yeah, we already know why you want more payload 😜
LOL! Thanks for following me on instagram!
Looks so good man! I love it so much. Can't wait to see what you do with it.
Jack
Can’t wait to see it with the new bed camper installed, lol.
Coming soon.....
Nice to see the payload increase. 1100# is ridiculous for a truck like this from the factory
2 1/2 hours to install a lift kit on a full size truck?! that would take me 2 1/2 days in my garage haha!
They had about 5-6 guys working on it that do it everyday
It took me about 3 hours in my driveway to do the Thuren leveling kit on my ram 3500. It really isn't that hard.
