It’s a nice kitchen but unfortunately sims cannot cook in it:/ there are no counters in which it’s possible
fun fact: i bought my first pet stuff almost entirely for the aquarium coffee table and i love it with my whole heart and try to work it into builds if it even barely makes sense with the style. it is genuinely my favorite piece of furniture in the game.

There's a CC creator called Ravasheen that has a mod called 'Uplifting Elevators' which basically lets you have functional AND unlimited elevators on your lot! If you're planning on playing in this apartment I highy recommend it, I have pretty much all of their stuff in my mods folder 😊 Happy simming!
I was going to ask in the Sims 4 community forum (But you answered my question), as I'm still a noob at Sims 4 and I'm still playing it for the first time since it came out on october, so I wanted to ask there why I hear ppl tell there are no elevators in the game, because I think I had seen one in the game, but idk if its functional or just for decoration and I never played the Sims I was just playing the Sims Freeplay and there are elevators that work and I thought the Sims 4 would of have it too.
I wasn't really into the Sims 4 bubble, bcs I never had a good PC to handle the game and bcs I was a Pokémon Fan, just playing the main games no Pokemon mobile apps. Now that I have the Sims 4 I barely play Pokémon, I became really addicted to Sims, I love how complex the game is, bcs the game is almost like in real life but as in a game and that's what I always wanted to play!
I googled for the Mod and I found out that this Mod's last update is from August 7 2021, so its outdated then. I'm using MCCC, Better Exceptions, UI Cheat Extension and Wonderful Whims and Idk if this all will work together with this Mod...
Why doesn't the Sim team give us the option to build functional apartments in the game? You can use the roommate feature to fill up the apartments, but it would be so cool if you could build an apartment complex and have the other apartments populate automatically with townies and their families. Roommates are always single, so every apartment you fill using the roommate feature only has one Sim. I would have liked to have an apartment option instead of the community lot they did give us. I never even build on community lots.
Honestly it should be a Game Pack with the Landlord Career attached

@@mikedupont3585 that would be fun but i think the sims would deal with the backlash of making a pack when you need another pack for it to function (like My First Pet Stuff and the Cats and Dogs pack). they could also just add the feature into city living and eco lifestyle.

The kitchen layout is the greatest thing I have ever seen. It just feels so.. realistic?? Idk man, but I love that thing
same!! i think it’s the space saving aspect? and trying to fit as much storage in as possible. i know i’ve DEFINITELY seen that whole “one side of the counter has chairs the other side has the kitchen sink” type of counter in real apartments before.

I think you did a really good job on this apartment, especially loving the bedroom too! You should use smaller circle coffee tables more often, it looks really nice :)

Ooh yes, maybe on the balcony it could have a yoga area and then the living room is focused on workout stuff! Like imagine a couple living there together that enjoy fitness together!
When I build/use apartments in the Sims, I just lock the unused entrances or lock specific used rooms (as to still allow “guests” in the main living areas) and set them to only allow specific Sims so it is more like an apartment! Hopefully this helps everyone! ✨

Suggestion for another of the apartment flats -- do an apartment inspired by Sunflowers. Everything in shades of yellow, accented by brown and green, but mainly yellow. I imagine a little old lady living there who loves growing Sunflowers so she has pots of them everywhere inside and out. Just all Sunflowers!

Watching Sims video without headphones and around other people is my favourite thing to do. I get to see my mothers face when she hears sentences like,
"I will never get this, how does changing my wallpaper delete my furniture?" said with genuine pain. Though, the nightmare legacy challenge definitely gets the best reactions.

It would be cool if Simsie could get people to move into the apartments via the roommates option to see how much of the bills they would pay.

You can place it at the exact hight you want, put an object inside to set it, and move it to wherever you want it to be !
Yeah, she does this sometimes but I think it's just a long standing habit to raise up then complain it's floating (note: I haven't watched the video yet - just assuming since she does it nearly every time lol)

Loving this series!! Downloading and decorating these apartments took way too much of my free time but was fabulous. Can’t wait to see how the rest of your apartments turn out.
I love building multi family lots. I have duplexes and apartments but my favorite is my trailer park. After I move sims in I go in and lock the doors so that only the correct sims can get into each home.
I have a single mechanic living in a trailer next to a single mom of two toddlers and across from them is a dad with a child, there’s an emancipated teen in one trailer, and the last trailer my sim moved in with no money and had a tiny single trailer.
It’s a vibe I love. I just ignore the other sims if I’m actively playing on one of those lots.

Stop. The living/kitchen area reminds me of my apartment. The bar stools as awkward dining. Not being able to pick which wall the couch and tv should be on because they both look wrong. Balancing out the space with a single hanging plant. I wanted bookshelves, but couldn't afford them..
edit: This made me think that a series recreating and decorating real-life apartments in the sims would be cool! Trying to work around awkward layouts and the landlord special in a renter friendly way with the sims mechanics would be really fun to watch!

I dont know if anyone has said this, but I LOVE how all your videos have english subs on them. While Im not hard of hearing, sometimes its just nice to have subs there (english is not my native language). Thank you to the person who puts them on your vids! And also how quickly they do them!

Next apartment in this building should be a super messy/cluttered/mismatched apartment. It’d be a nice contrast to the perfectly decorated ones.
There are so many ways to teleport tho. From wellness skill to being a spellcaster or vampire, to straight up cheating by shift clicking teleport. Going up and down 4 flights of stairs is not really at all impactful to gameplay lol

I feel like roommates are perfect for a building like this. I’m not sure if locked doors would work for roommates but you could prevent them from entering certain apartments that way. At minimum you can keep them out of your area and lock your sim out of the other apartments.

i think the only thing that wouldn’t work is making food. there isn’t enough open counter space. it’s an amazing place, it just would work if you wanted them to cook.
Call it a pied-à-terre when you have to walk up every floor. You still get all the inconvenience but it sounds fancier. 😂
I feel like this would be a great chance to use the roommate style game play. You can assign beds to roommates and just lock your door for everyone but household members and then it’s essentially the same as an apartment

The way I usually do apartment builds/gameplay is bring one sim and just have them get a bunch of roommates and let them take over the other apartments

i almost want to do it again but change up the floor plan
im bad a building exteriors for apartments but im good at floor plans and decorating so having a shell is great
I've actually played with my own built apartment before (in Mt. Komorebi because I love building Japanese-style apartments lol). And one thing that can be great to do is use the roommate feature. I was playing as my two main sims in a four-apartment building block and just had them get two roommates. I put the two roommates into their own apartments and it worked well! (I'd suggest locking your Sims' doors to them though because the roommates tend to come in freely otherwise lol.)
I love this mini series! I really want to see a gameplay series where a bunch of single people live in the different apartments and they all have different meet-cutes 👀
I really like My First Pet Stuff!! I think it's quirky, stylised, and very cute!! I'm guessing many people don't like it because it's like "a DLC for a DLC" (or because James told them to lol)
Best way to build playable apartments is a motel 6 style. With exterior doors and stairs that are locked for specific sims.
To make the bigger apartments smaller, I just wall off parts so it has a smaller usable square footage. If you accidentally have triplets you can open up the wall lol.

Obviously professional sims builders are gonna want the most aesthetically cohesive/realistic builds but for me I still like to lean into the original cartoon vibes of the older games. Give me 5 genie lamps a huge heart bed and a jacuzzi in the middle of a barren suburban home.
And the party cake. And the rugs that actually catch on fire when you light fireworks on them, and the giant clown coasters in the back yard. Give me a Nostalgic Sociopath Kit and I might actually buy it.

There should be a mod, where you have roommates show up as playable households when you choose the save you play on. So you can play as a certain family living on the same lot as your main family. And then use MCCC to allow for more sims to live there, so you could effectively have a full apartment building with each apartment having a playable family.

You should make a house using your least favorite expansion, game, stuff packs, and build kit! (Only use base game for necessity’s that are missing, (i.e kitchen stuff, bathroom stuff, beds, walls, and floors)
Wish we still had that like, Sims 3 debug object that basically turned whichever room it was put in into a void that you couldn't enter. It was sooo useful for fake apartment buildings

I’m using this apartment as a “dorm” for company employees (sims that work in the Salaryperson career from snowy escape) while my sim tries to max the career. The roommates are annoying but it adds to the realism and I like that. My bills are always 7k+
You can have two "seperate" famillies living here together under your controle. I actually tried to do something like that in my legacy, but only with two houses on one lot. I didn't wanted to pick one sibling to play in legacy, but I didn't wanted them to live together whole life. And rest of the apartaments can be rented for roommates, they will even give you money back! I love this idea

In all Sims games, I make 2 Grandparents with 2 kids, One Parent/One Kid, and Newlyweds in one household, put them in apartments and pretend I am managing 3 different households.

Thinking through the playability of this building, because it's awesome!, for the higher floors couldn't you pretend there was an elevator and just teleport the sims up with testingcheats? idk if it will work for pets though, I don't have that expansion pack for sims 4
This is one reason why Sims 3 was kinda superior. I loved the little spheres you could add to make rooms playable/non playable/apartments.

My problems with apartments in TS4 are: the unchangeable wall heights; not being able to change / move doors and windows; nonfunctioning elevators; unusable balconies; and not being able to delete apartment details like rat holes. So basically, apartments in TS4 are awful. Mods, I know. I shouldn't have to use T.O.O.L., etc.
