Congratulations on the strong finish and as well for this awesome movie. So far the best I've seen from this year's UTMB. Thank you for sharing this with us 🙏
Congratulations on your achievement! I'm in the UK and just starting out on my trail running journey, so this is a great motivation. Thanks for the awesome video! 👍
thanks! Yeah I had said my goodbyes to Brian as I knew he would make it to the end in time and I wanted to finish in style.. I knew I could run the last 3km with everythingI had left! 😅
great run Jason and a really nice film production. Welling up at the end at strong finish and then with your daughter. I can only dream of such a run! just a quick question, how were you carrying your poles at the waist? 👍
thank you @paulharris7826 👍 yeah the way I carry my poles isn't common. I'd like a quiver bag like most use, but I have a Montane vest and don't think the Salomon quiver bags are compaptable with other running vests/bags. Anyway, to answer you question I wear a Salomon Pulse Running belt that allows me to slot my poles in. I have got on well with them like this and you can wear them on front or behind. It allows me to slot my GoPro in too! They're pretty handy on short runs too as you can carry a few jels, phone etc.
Thanks for that info Jason@@997081 my UD vest has bungees but I like the slots that belt has. I've also realised you have arm warmers on....which stops overheating when you wear a long t under main t. Never thought of that til now! Cheers!
@@paulharris7826 yes they save the hassle of getting a jacket out of your bag at night too, if it's not too cold, and stops sun burn in the day.. I was surpsied I didn't change one item of clothing during the entire race 😅
Absolutely brilliant 👏 fareplay very, very impressed. This has given me the motivation to go back running. Thank you for sharing your amazing journey and showing your hard work and training 💪 . @@997081 it was way tougher than I could have imagined. I finished in 33h23m. Quads were shattered for 20+ hours. I don’t have mountains where I live so the descending was very rough.
Just watched your amazing vid. Well done! Amazing stuff. Hilarious also that I was there spectating and went for a high 5 with you just before the finish! Didn't expect to see that lol 😂
thank you and nice one, enjoy the journey! I use a GoPro Hero 10.. I didn't see much difference in the newer ones, so got a second-hand 10 which seems to do pretty well.
Epic video and massive well done. Footage and editing was on point and achievement no mean feat. Puts my 50km on the weekend to shame. What knee support have you got out of interest?
Thanks @TheMgsjarvis 🙌 I just use cheap unbranded ones I got off Ebay.. I know Bearhug do them too, but basically the same thing. I used to feel that way myself when doing my first few races but keep showing up and soon those 50kms should become and feel easier! 👊
@marcqe it's not bad for the price, but then again I haven't really tried many others to compare. I got it out once in UTMB then put it straight back as I got too hot!
Thanks @runtothetrails the course fly through is from Marcus Kjellberg which I think he used Unreal Engine to create. There's a link to this in the description 👍
@paulfairclough6408 that was the biggest week I had ever done to be fair and wouldn't recommend that volume often.. I was going out for 25-30km runs almost daily. One Monday I went out 3 times and did 70km 😅 but my usual week is 1hr most days = 10km per day
I‘m south korea man! good race and well done!!! I also finished the UTMB🎉

Really cool account of the race!
How many stones did you collect for the ballot?
@ic9037 thanks. I had 6 and Yanick had 10 but with a group entry they take the lower amount, so used 6 each I believe.
congrats. is the higherstate waterproof jacket worth it? thanks. i did the occ last week not intense as utmb but still brutally beautiful.
