  • Since running my first ultramarathon, my eyes have been set on the ultimate goal: the UTMB Mont-Blanc, the most prestigious ultra-trail race in the world. I felt deeply honored and incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to take on this legendary course. What began as a dream soon turned into a nightmare, pushing me further than I ever imagined. This is the story of my first encounter with Mont Blanc.

    Next time remember: "It is forbidden to accompany or be accompanied along any part the race route by a person not registered for the race, outside of the spectator run zones which are clearly marked in the proximity of the aid stations. A participant who accepts being accompanied outside of the designated zones violates the principle of self-sufficiency. The race stewards/marshals or team leaders, witnessing this violation, are authorized to penalize the participant in order to enforce the rules."

      Exactly my thought.. I got so mad watching this! Hope UTMB watch this and bans him from the race. This is Matt Choi all over again..

    Wait…. Did you have a film crew and a pacer with you? You should just taken a bus back to Chamonix and crossed the line too.

    Apart from the forbidden support, I do find your video very inspiring! Thanks for sharing also failure and the raw emotions around it. I think a lot of people are inspired by that! After all 35% or so of all starters DNF every year. I enjoy to see the reality of it, and your determination to get back and do it again!

    Completely disobey the rules of self-sufficiency. - What a joke, you even have someone running with you, giving you supplements.... Disgrace, think of others who completes it fair and square. Good thing you didn't finished!

    Makes me so mad to see the disrespect for other runners. Having camera-man and other people follow you on the route (which is against the rules). You clearly underestimated the race big time and did not come prepared for this. This reminds me of Matthew Choi who just got banned from NYC Marathon. Hope UTMB watch this video and does the same to you.. So disrespectful behavior and bad trail karma!

      Having someone film parts of your race on UTMB must be legal and no uncommon. There are countless examples of this here on RUclips.

      Wauw, who the hell cares?
      This guy just completed 100+ km's of pure pain and honestly and trustfully took viewers on a journey through his ups and downs while showcasing this amazing race. And instead of cheering him on and applauding him for his courage, for inspiring people and reaching for greatness, you chose to care about the fact that a friend of his stepped in to support him when the situation seemed most dire? It seems none of the other runners cared, because they know that in a sport like that you just gotta support one another.
      You sir and everybody who liked your comment is the main thing wrong with this world. Insecure haters trying to bring others down due to your own insecurities. I hope you step on a lego.

      @@joomnable5446 Yes that part is not okay. But you said it's illegal to have a camera man where I said that there are lots of examples on RUclips of people having themselves filmed on UTMB. Certainly there are rules about that too, but I'm not sure he broke any of these in this video.

    • @joomnable5446
      @joomnable5446 Месяц назад

      @ he doesn’t film himself (like many other youtubers). He has a cameraman + other people following him. He broke several rules in the video. Bringing people on the trails with him (pacing him) and receiving outside help. You clearly know nothing about ultrarunning. If you did you could see how he clearly breaks the rules and disrespect other runners.

    I'm glad you were found again after the last aid station where I met your crew (I was the other DNF Dane) (I did Kullamannen 100M to try next year again). Hope to meet you down there

    Totally disrespect and flaunting of the rules of the race. Another Instagrammer who thinks content is more important than respect for the race. Don't come back please.

    What an incredible journey. The challenge, the scenery, the sheer grit - it's truly inspiring. Even though the race didn't go exactly as planned, your spirit throughout is just remarkable. A powerful story about dreams, resilience and overcoming adversity.

    What a fantastic movie! So nice to recall the race and moments during the race. And so great meeting you. You`re a great guy and I had a lot of fun while we ran together during the night. It is tough as a dane from a country without mountains to finish UTMB, but this was your first time, so look at it as a part of your travel trough life, wich has just begun, and you will recognize you will get there one day. Stay strong and thanks again for being a small part of your journey.

    This story needs the bit on how you prepared for the race and your pace and fueling strategy. This would be useful for other dreamers and maybe a case of what not to do.
