Hey man, I’ve been wanting to do MRI tech for a while, but I only have one hand. Is this something that you recommend for me? I’ve always failed things out in my life with one arm. Is this something that might prevent me from doing my job?
I had a guy that was +300lbs that I had to scan under Anesthesia because he was so claustro from his size he couldn't do the exam regularly. Long story short once he's done and CRNA pulls his tube out of his mouth the guy seems okay. But given his size CRNA asks if I could bring an oxygen tank/mask for him. I go to grab said stuff in a room around the corner of our MRI department. When I come back the dude is blue like a Smurf and nobody had noticed because the CRNA went into the control room to chart. Had to scream for someone to call the code and jump on top of the guy to start doing compressions. Felt it when I cracked his ribs and all. They zapped him 3 times with the AED and to my understanding the guy was dead for about 3 minutes. He made it back though and a few weeks later I had to scan him again. Asked him about it and he said he didn't remember a thing 😂

MRI Man how hectic is a typical day as a tech?
I looked up and panicked I didn’t keep my eyes closed, I wasn’t told how to cope

First time I ever had to legit code somebody/ do compressions. Only been doing MR for 3 years.
