This song popped into my head today so I came along here. Coincidentally it was released 10 years ago from today. I remember watching and listening along to FTP music videos like this back then in high school, and they really helped me get through that time not knowing fully grasping how special and free those times were. Now I am an adult in his mid 20s and struggling with the realities of adulthood. I hope there are brighter days ahead and I get to taste that freedom of when I was younger again. Crazy how time flies by. Listening to this give me an existential rush.
Aww man can't wait for this album to come out. Been waiting for years for Foster The People to put out new music, love every single one of their songs and this one is just as great as the rest.
I just saw FTP in concert tonight along with a dedication of this mural in Los Angeles. It was a magical night that I won't soon forget. These guys can rock like nobody's business.
maaann this was beautiful if you focuse in the lyrics and the painting god bless foster the people and the ones who worked their asses off doing the painting I swear thats beautiful to the eye street art is the best category I will say Im touched Im feeling this song btw I already want that album in my hands counting days
Torches was, and is one of the greatest albums in the past decade - I'm very choosy when listening to music, and it is the only album on which I liked all the songs - hope this album will be the same :)
Not dissing Torches or anything, I like Torches, but that's a HUGE statement you're making. Keep in mind, when you call something a great album of a year, let alone a decade, you have to weigh in certain factors of the music like marketability, flow, originality and with age; legacy. I really liked Torches too but it barely made the top 10 of 2011 on my list. MGMT and beforehand, Of Montreal sort of dabbled with this sound in the past so innovation is left to be desired.
Die Rabe Digitale album of the decade is a totally subjective criteria, and music cannot be different. For me it is, and maybe for those also who liked my comment. :)
I disagree, though I liked Torches a lot. I'd rank torches at 8/10, but that's just my opinion. I am very excited for this album though. I think this will be my album of the year. The only problem I had with Torches was the lyrical content in most of the songs felt uninspired and not great. The second problem I had was some of the songs had these weird noise I couldn't stand. That's my opinion though, and regardless, it was a great album. I can't wait for this album.
ZazarStudios i can understand you. Mark Foster himself will agree with you that he made torches out of electronic sound than for sensible lyrics (Although I personally believe his lyrics which is scattered among his all songs in Torches in still awesome and have great meaning). I think Foster wants to make this album "Supermodel" be very lyric, human and real which is targeting totally different audience like you. Im expecting more from foster like more lyrics and music. Coming of age has just three paragraphs of real lyrics. But at end of the day, we just have to satisfy with music and beat I guess. I don't really see many people in industry who write lyrically strong anything anyway.
ZazarStudios Yea, I liked the songs but I thought the mix was pretty bad on some, pumped up kicks being the worst offender. I love that song, but I can't listen to it unless it's the live version because it sounds like a demo, which it basically is. I wasn't really into the electronic sound either. It seems like they really took their time to make this a good album though, and after hearing this song I have some pretty high hopes.
Wilson Nightstand Me too. :) It depends ... not always. As for indie music I like Bloc Party, too and alternative rock. Then some stuff from the 80s, mainstream and some pop music. However, many soundtracks/scores are awesome as well .... it's kinda hard to tell :D You?
I've been exploring some psychedelic noise pop/experimental bands. Some will take a few spins to "get it" but will reward you. Animal Collective, Panda Bear, Menameno, Iron And Wine, Wilco ect.
DARKFLAME293 Yeah I was afraid too, I was hoping the album for 2013 but I felt releaved after I found a song of Rae&Christian featuring Mark and I realized Foster the People was still alive.

I see you standing there like a rabid dog And you got those crying eyes It makes me wanna surrender and wrap you in my arms You know I've tried to live without regrets I'm always moving forward and not looking back But I tend to leave a trail of dead while I'm moving ahead So I'm stepping away 'Cause I've got nothing to say Feels like, feels like it's coming It feels like, feels like a coming (it's like a coming of age) Feels like, feels like it's coming It feels like, feels like a coming of age When my fear pulls me out to sea And the stars are hidden by my pride and my enemies I seem to hurt the people that care the most Just like an animal, I protect my pride When I'm too bruised to fight And even when I'm wrong, I tend to think I'm right Well, I'm bored of the game And too tired to rage Feels like, feels like it's coming It feels like, feels like a coming (it's like a coming of age) Feels like, feels like it's coming It feels like, feels like a coming (and I'm burning the page) Feels like, feels like it's coming It feels like, feels like a coming (it's like a coming of age) Feels like, feels like it's coming It feels like, feels like a coming of age It feels like, feels like a coming (yeah it's like a coming of age) Feels like, feels like it's coming It feels like, feels like a coming (and I'm burning the page) Feels like, feels like it's coming It feels like, feels like a coming (like a coming of age) Feels like, feels like it's coming It feels like, feels like a coming of age
Ok, those ''Ouuuh'' the singer does at the end just like in Helena Beat,... THEY'RE SICK! I dont really relate with that group a lot, but i really love their songs!
I love it, despite many people saying they have changed, they have, but they have kept a lot of the things that made them who they are. And who wants to hear the same exact thing over and over, just appreciate what they give us!
Drive past this mural every day on the way to work... Had no idea that it was for Foster The People.... Looking forward to March when your next album comes out guys!
Seeing this makes me miss the mural so much, I remember when I first saw it, I nearly cried because it was so beautiful and amazing. I honestly can't wait for this new mural to happen!!!! X3

Not one comment yet about the beauty of the mural?
It's damn magnificent.
Some of those cut scenes are just phenomenal the logistic in capturing them . Bravo!
This piano bridge is melting. Loving it
that mini solo after the first chorus is what i love to hear out of this band
And that range is unbelievable... Perfect!
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SONG!
I am ready. Counting down the days til the new album
I see you standing there like a rabid dog
And you got those crying eyes
It makes me wanna surrender and wrap you in my arms
You know I've tried to live without regrets
I'm always moving forward and not looking back
But I tend to leave a trail of dead while I'm moving ahead
So I'm stepping away
'Cause I've got nothing to say
Feels like, feels like it's coming
It feels like, feels like a coming (it's like a coming of age)
Feels like, feels like it's coming
It feels like, feels like a coming of age
When my fear pulls me out to sea
And the stars are hidden by my pride and my enemies
I seem to hurt the people that care the most
Just like an animal, I protect my pride
When I'm too bruised to fight
And even when I'm wrong, I tend to think I'm right
Well, I'm bored of the game
And too tired to rage
Feels like, feels like it's coming
It feels like, feels like a coming (it's like a coming of age)
Feels like, feels like it's coming
It feels like, feels like a coming (and I'm burning the page)
Feels like, feels like it's coming
It feels like, feels like a coming (it's like a coming of age)
Feels like, feels like it's coming
It feels like, feels like a coming of age
It feels like, feels like a coming (yeah it's like a coming of age)
Feels like, feels like it's coming
It feels like, feels like a coming (and I'm burning the page)
Feels like, feels like it's coming
It feels like, feels like a coming (like a coming of age)
Feels like, feels like it's coming
It feels like, feels like a coming of age
