Chorus:
Feels like, feels like it's comin'
It feels like, feels like a coming of age (It's like a coming of age)
Feels like, feels like it's comin'
Feels like, feels like a coming of age
#FosterThePeople #ComingofAge #Supermodel
(C) 2014 Columbia Records, a Division of Sony Music Entertainment
When I was 16 I was obsessed with Foster The People and I had the album Supermodel. I would put it everytime in the car with my godfather (who raised me with my mom, he was like a dad to me). He always asked me “put the third song, I like that one, is my favorite”. Coming of Age was the song. He passed away 6 days ago and listening to this song takes me back to these beautiful moments ❤️
He sure was a great man and father💜
My condolensces
Kool
This song is seriously one of my favorite pieces of music to come out this decade, the style of it feels like it could fit right in the 80's yet feels modern enough for the radio. I really hope more music like this starts making a comeback in today's music scene.
Yea bro!
i think that this song is similar to Everybody whants to roule the world of tears of fears
Yes, this was definitely one of the 1000 best and greatest songs of the 10s!! :)
Woe, dawg, this song like aged wine, is served up for now, 2021, just like all their music, way ahead of time, and brilliant! Keep them coming Foster The People!💕🥵
@@CK-bl3pi they are ascended I swear
Totally 80's sound
My 6 year old daughter had my phone and put this song on as I'd listened to it on youtube. I now have to play it every night before going to bed cos she loves it so much! She said to me "I don't know why I love it so much, I just do!" Great taste in music my 6 year old!
I was just gonna say you're daughter has great taste in music until I read the last sentence.
Mmhmm
@@oreo4069jajaja, pero si lo hiciste, una gran canción, la edad no importa para apreciar lo bueno de la vida!
You have 12 years old?
😆 this one time in band camp....
This song is a trip between melancholy and bliss.
Video and song are highly underrated
The band is underrated. I'm into metal and metalcore and this is one of the few bands that I could say I love listening to.
+Jesse Simmons Same dude
Seriously underrated
as am i but i try to stretch out my music taste
I know. Both are great. Video is sooooo relevant, to most folks' live's growing up. And great music along with it. What a combo!
This song reminds me of a love I never had, a poem I never heard and a place I never was.
Bandolero #77 shut up mong
Beat me to it

You're alive. Go live!
But we all want to go to.
I’m 38 now. Every year of your life you change and shed your old self like the skin of an onion. The person you were on those summers so long ago is long discarded. But then I listen to this song, look up and say, “There you are.”
I feel exactly the same. :)
Hi Chad
Well said
As a teen, my father was in his 50's and he would tell me that he still thought as he had in his teens, though his body wasn't at that point. Now at 57, I can really understand what he meant.
Yes. People are like onions
pure nostalgia, I remember how happy I was when supermodel first came out. literally, this album was my jam 24/7 when I was 11
Do you wanna be my girlfriend?
jonathan brandis😭😭😭
big same
Same with me at 15
Its true. All the lyrics are what everyone goes through. You hurt the ones closest to you,the ones that care for you the most. Until you realize what you've done and feel bad for the rest of your life about it.
Whwn i hear Foster the people's music is like a escape from reality, thats how i feel :)
agree..me feel the same too
For me it's different.... I find my life... ♥
You might like empire of the sun then
***** haha, I meant the band, not the movie. You should check out their music.
me too
I'm absolutely smitten with this song, my God!
Great throwback sound. Never gets old. A bit like the Church 20 or so yrs ago.
Mick A I could listen to this song for the rest of my life and never get sick of it

Not even a smidgin of dissapoint.
I listened to this before my high school graduation, I loved this song so much. Now, three years later, I am listening to it just before turning in my final paper. Going to graduate college on Saturday with my Bachelor's in Psychology, hopefully with Honors :) I still love this song just as much, if not more, than I did three years ago.
wow, good for you!
Dig it!
Yes! The feels. "Feels like it's coming of age"

My favorite song from theirs. Foster the People is one of the few bands of the last decade that I actually like and appreciate.
KirbyCrossing You must not know a lot of bands then.
ZazarStudios From 2005 and onwards, no.
KirbyCrossing I'll recommend some decent-great bands, in my opinion, then. The Temper Trap, White Lies, The Killers, Modest Mouse, Franz Ferdinand, Muse, Gorillaz, Phoenix, Cut Copy, The Rubens, Future Islands, The War on Drugs, and Arcade Fire.... I guess... Though personally I hate Arcade Fire and think they are the most overrated band of the past decade, BUT they are good none the less, and you might dig them. Not to mention there's been a TON of artists outside of bands or rock genres, and I will recommend them too. M83, Daft Punk, Sleep Party People, Caribou, Death Grips, Big Black Delta, Youth Lagoon, Danger, and Dan Deacon. There's way more, but those are the ones I can think off of the top of my head. Check those artists out, and you will see that music hasn't lost anything. Rock music. It's still going strong, and always will be. Sometimes you need to just search more, but even several of the artists I have mentioned have had mainstream success.
ZazarStudios Nearly half of those are late 90's - early 2000's though. I don't really like post 2000's rock music anyway.
KirbyCrossing Actually, most of those are 2004 and up, with a few exceptions, but I guess I am mainly referring to the ones who have released music fairly recently that was good. And what do you mean by post 2000s rock? Like as in 2010 and past?
The second verse hits me like a friggin train, especially "I'm bored of the game and too tired to rage." Killer lyrics!
I guess I'm not the only one in the little bit older crowd loving this tune. I"m 52. Love this tune. So clean.
I saw these dudes on the street performing outside of universal city about a year or two before pumped up kicks came out on the radio. Even back then I knew they were going to catch on. It was a trip that a band that good would be playing on the street.
From the song production to the video, captures the 80's MTV.
Tim Glover Which is what makes it so amazing...you are on point sir.
Yep, back when popular music actually existed.
does everyone get like a shiver when the guitar sounds before the chorus like ascending or something
Damn it I hear this song 24/7
oh yes... the sounds in this song are just sublime.
I didn't before, but now I hear it every time lol
Cari Morris I'm pretty sure when the guitar kicks in they say "doo doo doo doo"
Who listen in 2024 in the 2nd quarter
🙋♀️
I MISSED YOU GUYS *rolls around in tears of joy*
I think I spend the whole year listening to this song. Because this is how you define true "contemporary music".
Probably one of my favorite songs of all time.
It is one of my favorite songs of all time
Nice
No doubt. WPF. Totally agree.
My favorite part of the video but im stepping away 💎 💎 💎
FOSTER THE PEOPLE IS THE BEST BAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
cant agree more, I love every single song :D
Yepppppppp
Definitely
And mgmt
Yesss❤️
They did it again, amazing tune, can't wait for the album
I love the classic, old feel they created for this video. It really fits quite well with the song.
Def!
If you're still listening to this after 6 years dude ur a legend
this song is so underrated..
Best one I've heard in years. Easily.
How the hell is this underrated
Very easily
This video gives me such great nostalgia for my childhood.
Melefono do think Mark Foster us kinda weird?
Melefono same :/
I'm so glad they're not a one hit song/album
This band makes me feel like ive never felt before. Something so infinite and magnificent about them... New level of amazigness
Masterpiece
Literally torches and supermodel are the only albums where I'm in love with every single song. When I listen to the it's like I get a break from reality. When people ask who my fav band is I always say FTP and they say they hate them. But really, the only song they know is pumped up kicks. This annoys me so much. Every song of theirs is so different from the others! I can't see how anybody could hate them honestly. Like, stop listening to that nicki minaj justin bieber crap. This is real music right here
Shannon Farnsworth FTP is a thinking person's band and Mark Foster is a musical genius. Anyone who hates them, like you said, hasn't looked into their full body of work. Which I know is only two albums but there is so much greatness already.
Hollywoodsteve I agree
now u sir , get the idea ppeople only know pumped up kicks and dont stop basically those are great songs in their right but like u said all of thier songs are different and actually have a message not same bullshit rappers nowadays talkabout (money, sex, and rims) it pisses me off insanely
Shannon Farnsworth Really? There are people that hate FTP? Huh. FTP isn't my favourite band - that distinction goes to OMAM - but they are a close second, and I'm quite surprised that there's a crowd of people that hate this band that large.
FINALY!! Someone else knows what's up
I can sort of understand some people not liking the video because at first I wasn't sure what to think. After watching it three or four more times I love it. It's about Americana and growing up in the 70s and 80s. Nice homage to the era and it fits the song perfectly. Nice job, boys!
nice reply that's what I thought to
Kyle Williams I try to be objective. I believe a lot of thought went into the making of this video.
Hell yeah, the good times.
I can't judge FtP's next album from only one song, but if the entire album does sound like this song, then we've been there already with Battle Born by the Killers.
Billy Drake I've heard more than half of "Supermodel" and there's a big variety of sounds.
Why are these guys not the biggest thing right now? Im old and cant believe the talent of this band. Wow.
80's + Foster the People = Decent Song
Amazing*
It's song like this (and not just pumped up kicks) that make me love this band.
yup
pumped up kicks is cool, but THIS song...it's beautiful
SAME MAN, SAME
Cheese Crumbs great tune...takes me back to 16
Cheese Crumbs Ikr
Today this song takes a new meaning for me... after live all those things that broken my heart and soul... today I can say that I feel like i'm coming of age...
I feel bad for the people that got stucked in 2011 and only know them for Pumped Up Kicks. They have such good music.
People like me.
foster please keep producing songs like this and you'll make one as popular as pumped up kicks, either way I love your music and will keep listening.
Hey B0SS
Don't bring that shit here.
They deserve more credit for there songs. Don't like my opinion? then fuck off. simple.
oh okay my bad
Should've been bigger than pumped up kicks .....
Joy Mechell Big facts!!

Totally agree
i like this band. they have an original sound. very creative.
Original? great band but this sound is 80's new wave
yes, but they put their own spin on it as well. that is what makes it original. truth is, nothing is truly original. everyone borrows something from someone else. even art imitates life. in order for it to not sound like something that came before it, it would more than likely never be heard anyway.
10 years. I'm still coming of age a decade later, but glad I've got this baller anthem to help me slowly get there.
some people are just blind to realize that FTP is one of the most original artists out there. I meannn
the differences in Pumped up kicks, Call it what you want, Helena beat etc. the production and performance is amazing, and they hardly sound anything like the Killers, MGMT, Passion Pit, pr Peter Bjorn and John. Same style practically different genre.
I agree, Foster the People is extremely underrated.
One of the best songs of 2014
FACT.

THIS SONG IS LIFE
It does not matter which in year you're listening to this song. This song is timeless!
I can't get this song outta my head.
I've been listening to this several times a day lately. We'll see if I get tired of it or if it becomes one of my desert island songs. I'm hoping for the latter.
Mark Foster: “We wanted to kind of capture the staple American past times, like classic Steve McQueen. The staple moments in the 70s and 80s that we thought kind of captured what America was in cinema. Those moments made us feel nostalgic about life.”
I wasn't sure about this video the first time I saw it but has REALLY grown on me.
the best album of 2014
ooooooh! Totally into the song, with the whole 80s retro feel too! Back to the simpler times I guess :P
i want to hear more songs like this
They did not let Mark get as big as he should have. Quite the mind he has. Most High will bless him in the end.
Heard this earlier this morning in MTV i was like ohhh yasss 👌😍💯😃
that's when I first heard it to
These kids are way out of my generation; being 61 years old, but I heard this song playing on one of the radio stations in a CVS drug store, looked it up, and yeah, this is a kicking great, well written and arranged song by a generation that i don't normally have any interest in. Almost a Beach Boys feel at times!....weeeeuuuuuuuu!
electrictom foster the people actually got to perform with The Beach Boys at the Grammys a few years back!
Not coincidentally they are heavily influenced by The Beach Boys. You my friend have exceptional taste in music. 😎
electrictom Mark Foster, the band frontman, actually said that his biggest inspirations have been the Beach Boys

Enjoy this, FTP is for all who wants to listen 💎💕
This song 😭😭😭 take me back to 2013!
Is Ruby your name?
@@eirasmindyea
I’m getting older from the second I heard this in jail 2013 I’m a lot wiser now 💎🔥💪🏽💯
Total Duran Duran vibes. 😍 Reminds me so of Duran Duran’s recent albums. Where they keep their 80’s sound but its modernized. The vocal style sounds influenced by Simon Le Bon. I love it!
I freaking love this. It gives me positive energy and good vibes
If this song was released in the 90s, back when alternative (grunge/britpop/indie was popular at that time), this song would have been #1!
This is band is the best in the country/ever!
what country would that be? lol
Canada
not even close then my friend.
Ummm....okay O.O
Still listening to this on 2019 November!
Still commenting the same old stupid shit
I mean this in the nicest way possible - no one cares.
NOV 2020 BRO
this should have been bigger than Pumped Up Kicks
Absolutely! I love this song so much and it's my favorite from Foster the People and one of my favorites of 2014.
I think it will be, it just needs time.
it's not as catchy.
all about the melody in the chorus.
Pumped up kicks will always be their best song
I dont mean it that way. I mean, Stairway to Heaven is zeppelin's most popular song and their best song. But, yeah. might just be an opinion.
At my last football game my senior year during warm ups, my brother asked the announcer to play this song for me (I was the only senior) I really liked this song and it really fit that night even though we ended up losing. God how I miss it
amazing song combined with a unique video .. kind of old school in a way .. LOVE IT OMG can't wait for the rest of the album!
nice song

Great song. I love this, and I can't wait for the new album!
im loving this song and this music video. perfection.
Foster the People is sooo underrated. Their first "hit" about school shootings that sounded so "summery & happy." YIKES. They've come out with so many hits that are UNDERplayed on the radio.
Pumped up kicks isn't about a school shooting
@@puskinki I guess you haven't listened to the lyrics or watched the music video. The lyrics to "Pumped Up Kicks" are written from the perspective of a troubled and delusional youth with homicidal thoughts. The lines in the chorus warn potential victims to "outrun my gun" and that they "better run, better run, faster than my bullet." Watch the RUclips video (interview) with Mark Foster of Foster the People regarding his song.
@@simmytheegiant yea I know but he never said anything about a school shooting
@@simmytheegiant and it's not a big deal
@@puskinki The music video certainly made it clear that it's about school shootings (although it can also apply to Walmarts, places of worship, festivals, movie theaters - basically, any public place).

In a few years we will hear this song, and we will feel nostalgia for today. We are like this, what we cannot have, we will always miss.
It sucks to think these guys might be a one hit wonder kinda thing, but I will always like the songs they did, I hope they do more with a third album.
They have so many good songs other than pumped up kicks. Houdini, Helena beat, Call it what you want, coming of age, and best friend.
after pumped up kicks being over played on the radio so much it has become my least favorite song of there's. Houdini is by far my favorite
Connor Ford Pumped up Kicks was overplayed but it is still an ok song. My favorite is Houdini too
this sounds awesome! good job, FTP!
