Hi guys I created this vid to accompany the TRX ULTIMATE PHYSIQUE SCULPTOR PROGRAM (trxtraveller.com/product/ultimate-trx-physique-sculpting-program/) even if you you're not following it - I hope you found it useful. Thanks for watching!

The direction of force in this exercise is not really the same as a shoulder press. Sure you're recruiting a lot of subscapularis and anterior deltoid, but look at the direction the TRX is pulling. The force is not toward the feet. If you really wanted to do a shoulder press with the TRX you would do something like a handstand with your feet on the door and press your body toward the attachment point of the TRX.

Our aim is not looking for the challenging force, it's performing mind-muscle contractional movement.

I agree. This doesn't look like it would work the shoulders much at all! I can see how you can mimic every weight workout with the TRX except the shoulder press. I hate handstand pushups. Still looking.

Doesn't matter. Have you ever done a landmine shoulder press, Phil? The "direction" doesn't matter as long as you hit the shoulder and you hit the shoulder regardless of what direction you press. This is also why you engage your shoulders when you do chest presses. So your complaint is unjust.

@@fortyoneshades Instead of thinking it doesn't look like it will work why don't you try it? If you do it correctly it's like doing a landmine shoulder press. I have tried both and they work just as much as a regular shoulder press.

@@fortyoneshades Furthermore this workout is really nice because it also targets the core by forcing you to tighten the core just like landmine press forces you to do and standing shoulder press to some extend forces you too, unlike sitting shoulder presses. But seriously give it a go instead of complain about how it looks.

Adam, speaking generally, I find your videos by a long chalk so much better and comprehensive than any other, even more so than official. They are also succinct and very well executed. Speaking specifically, the exquisite detail you have in the your vids is exemplary, and this one is a case in point, using the subtle movements to maintain the critical tension. I have learned so much for watching and I will be sharing! Thank you so much.

Thank you so much for your kind words I'm super grateful and really pleased the videos are useful to you. I am a technique precedes mastery obsessive, plus I've failed so many times I know some of the useful little nuggets that do actually work haha. Have a great day!

Have you tried anchoring the TRX from the bottom?

Once again you show the versatility of TRX suspension training.

How does that load the delts ? The load isn’t opposite the muscle movement

All squeeze, no power, no load. Mindful muscle-connection with time under tension.
