Which type of wavelength black light do you like best?
I like the one that i can hear.
@astor tran what do you mean?
@@UVBlackLights LOL sorry i was meaning to joke about the low volume at the beginning of the video...
Astor Tran oh haha! Sorry about that, this was my 2nd video ever. Still trying to get better, but I think it’s getting better. Let me know! Thanks for the feedback!
@@UVBlackLights Wow it's only your second? I can't tell at all. Maybe that joke was a bit too harsh for a second video. LOL. Keep making good videos! Will be watching!
This is quite the rabbit hole you have to go down to find a quality black light. Thanks for this video.
Yes, you’re right! You’re welcome! Thank you for watching! I hope the video helped!
I’m here because I want a UV flashlight that’s more effective than my current one. 365 for me. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and eliminating the fog of my ignorance! 👍
@vanekirk Please check out my Convoy S2+ and UVBeast 365nm videos. Both of those are the best that I've seen so far. Thank you for watching and please don't forget to subscribe!
Hi, true, the UVB, the 260- 280nm ones casts harsh shadows, the 395nm one, although the gives it the most luminous, it's too bright for the background and casts a strong shadow as well. 364nm is a the 'Goldilocks zone'/sweetspot, the best. These 3 UV wavelengths will cure UV glues as well:-)
On a side note, I read, the UVB ones will disinfect COVID but it could take minutes which is dangerous, if you shine it at your skin, instead of washing.
I am so happy I found your channel!
For me, I’m now sold on the 365nm. I got a super popular (cheap) 395nm flashlight to supposedly find cat pee.
I couldn’t see anything. At all.
Did a few tests on known stains (fresh and old) and it did nothing for the stain. I couldn’t understand the rave reviews (and frankly, I still can’t). I’m talkin, we can literally smell the stain and wanted to test this light, and it barely showed anything (if at all).
Upon googling, I saw that pet urine specifically is seen better within the 365-385nm range. 365nm was the most highly suggested. I wish we could get the c8 out here, but thanks to a certain someone, the United States can’t get it. Now I’m torn between the UVBeast and just random off brands 😩
@rarest pringle Welcome to the fam!
I'm more bias toward the 365nm as well. You can pick up alot more things with the true 365nm wavelength.
You can get the C8 on Amazon amzn.to/3A8CN3E - I haven't seen that one in action, but you can't go wrong with Convoy. I did a video on the UV beast 365nm, I'm pretty impressed.
Thank you for watching! If you have any questions, shoot them my way!
@@UVBlackLights I wish I could explain on here exactly why I refuse to buy that on Amazon, since the person behind it always gets litigious with people, but I can say that research from the friendly orange alien site can help immensely.
I watched that one as well! Very comprehensive review which I LOVED. That was what my heart was originally set on, but while I was searching through Amazon I came across the Alonefire H42UV. Granted, there is not much on it yet, however I’m giving it a chance. The price is marginally favorable, but it does have USB-C, and supposedly emits 6000mW (surely only for a bit, mind you, being that it’s 36W which is pretty high/hot, lol).
I hope uvBeast comes out with a new upgrade (for their larger, not the mini haha) that will include the USB-C-although I can’t speak on the performance of the one I got yet…😅
I will say, the reviews for Alonefire include the weirdest, most inaccurate low one…from a reviewer who claimed 18650 batteries were banned LMAO
Anywayyy, I digress. I’ll let you know what happens haha
@@rarestpringle Interesting, I just figured he is a distributor for Convoy.
Thank you! I'm going to have to check out that Alonefire one. 6000mw is crazy! Sounds like you really know your stuff!
Yeah, that would be good if it had the USB-C. I'm guessing that's a game changer for you?
Banned.... hahaa... I usually take reviews with a grain of salt!
Sounds good, let me know! Follow on IG and let me know how it goes!
@@UVBlackLights is AloneFire brand good? im looking to buy 365nm in budget of 30-40 Eur
@theo blaze I haven’t tested that brand before, but I’ve heard good things about them.
I came to this video because i work in maintenance, and in need of a light that can show me chemical residue. Im pretty much sold on the 365 atm. Thank you for the video!
If you’re looking for a larger flashlight check out the UV beast V3. If you’re looking for more smaller than check out the beast mini or Convoy S2+. All of those are 365nm.
Great video!!! I learned so much.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
I like the purple glow, but I also want the most pop from my UV reactive paints. If you use both a 395 and a 365 pointing at the same subject will you achieve that effect?
If the UV reactive paints are visible then you shouldn't need the 365nm, it might help but you probably wouldn't tell much.
Hello! Great video! I have a quick question. I have been buying blacklight strips from amazon, hardware stores I've tried their black light bulbs and I am not having any luck. I have a 365 flashlight and that works great on my uranium glass collection. However I would like to show it off in my glass china cabins that are filled with uranium/depression glass but none of the things I have found online work besides my flashlight, and again, I want the whole cabinet to light up as it is fully glass doors, and shelfs. Can you give me any advice on what might work with this set up? I have seen hundreds of pictures online with people with this cabint setup to light up their glass collection. I've done so much research on it but cannot find a good solution. Any help would be very much appreciated!
How much space do you have in this cabinet? It’s almost impossible to find 365nm strips, unless you want to pay a lot of money. Can you fit a 2 foot tube inside? Or, do you want to shine the UV from the outside of the cabinet?
Hi! Need your advice (if possible). I purchased Convoy S2 365Nm with a black glass. However, the light is still visible (it is deep blue). I want to use it for the photography so ideally I need no light or white/neutral tint. Is it possible to achive this? Do I need to buy a better ZWB2 glass? Thank you!:)
If the Convoy you got has the Nichia LED then that should be the best one for as little visible light comes out of it. It shouldn’t be deep blue? Does it look like the one I have in my Convoy S2+ video? It also could be a photography setting but I’m no expert in that area.
395 has worked ok for my uranium glass display case, but i have recently gotten some higher grade pieces and they wont glow with 395. So i am upgrading to 365. Loved the explanation and video. Thanks!
I’m glad it helped you! Also, from the little research I’ve done, I believe some glass can only illuminate from shorter wave lengths than 365nm. So, just make sure who you buy the glass from to ask if they know.
@@UVBlackLights does anyone sell a 255nm or 310nm flashlight?
I’m sure there is one, I never researched that though.
Thank you for this helpful video. ❤ However, I’m planning to do a blacklight puppet show, do you have any links to bars for 365m? I only see flashlights. Do you think it’ll work with blacklight puppets also?
@chris adams Best linear bar black lights are here uvblacklights.myshopify.com/collections/all
For black light puppets yes you want only 365nm wavelength.

perfect explanation exactly what I needed to know and 365nm it is!
365nm ALL THE WAY! Great video.
I agree! Thank you.
I am using regular prescription glasses with fancy purple tint (more blue blocking) and it blocks the reflection of UV, but shows the fluorescence of objects. I supposedly have a 365nm flashlight convoy s12, but I see the purple when I take off my glasses.
I recommend regular safety glasses. They will block the supposedly harmfull UVA, but show the fluorescence. Also I can see dark spots in peoples faces and frecles and damages on hands with it just like those UV cameraes can see.
I’m looking for a portable black light, battery operated to look for germs on my kids hands, what should I look for? There are soo many on amazon. Any help is appreciated
Unfortunately, it’s not possible to see germs with a blacklight. You can detect fluids, but it won’t detect viruses or bacteria. I would go with a 365nm UV Flashlight for fluids.
Thanks. You've given me a great product idea.

Blake Las AKA DJ Tek 9 you’re welcome! Let me know how you like that UV Flashlight! Thanks!
Hi UV B.L., nice vid, I like it.
I've got one question for you and hope you answer me.
I have a small dog that loves my non leather black sofa and always licks it, mostly the pillows.
So, as I read that body fluids turn on under UV, I bought a 395 torch (a single led one, maybe a Q5), but nothing happened.
I also licked a t-shirt of mine (I'm not weird, just an experiment), to illuminate something I was sure was filled with saliva and again nothing happened.
So, my question is... Where was I wrong?
You may want to try a 365nm UV Flashlight. The visible light from the 395 might be flooding the area too much so you can’t see it. Hope this helps!
I need a uv torch for curing solder mask resin. Which frequency works faster for that?
I usually use 365nm for curing resin.
Enjoying your videos and also are informative, i have some uv led of different wavelength can you please help me identify their exact wavelength? i can send you their photos also.

Are there any 365nm flashlights or tube lights that you like out there that are available on ebay or Amazon right now ? What should I buy ? I'd like to both use something in a small room and also have a flashlight . .
@movies phospherato UV flashlight amzn.to/3dFEn24 and if you need double the power then look at this one amzn.to/3dLRxuM They also have a 2 year warranty. As for tube lights, what are you planning to do with them? If I know exactly then I could give you better advice. Thank you for watching!

@movies phospherato I'm so sorry for this late response, youtube failed to notify me. The GE Tube will work with Wildfire Paint. Most blacklight tubes are in the 365nm, so it's perfect for any UV Paint.
I have n project now, and i need uv led that can detect money. So could u tell me which one are good for money detector? 365 nm, 385nm or 395nm?

Great Video! What would you recommend for seeing golf balls out on the golf course?
Probably a glow in the dark golf ball? Not sure what else you can use unless you have a ton of blacklights on the actual golf course.
@@UVBlackLights Apparently they show really well under UV light, many use them and walk up and down finding lost balls which is what I want to try do. Hello my friend,
I want to apply this paint, specially red, to the clear plastic, gauge needle of my car.
What is your best advice?
Thank you very much.
@Ruben Mendez hello! What type of paint and what kind of look are you trying to achieve?
UV Black Lights I want to get a regular conservative but actual look. Nothing too much.
Just want to paint some edges of the instruments gauge cluster needle.
Have to be invisible at regular lights and when the Black Light turn on we see a different color.
Ruben Mendez ok, so what you need is invisible clear red paint. Make sure you use only 365nm, as 385+ will not work with the clear red.

365nm would be the best.
Will white material fluoresce less with 395 or is it just slightly more washed out because you're getting purple reflections as well?
They’ll fluoresce the same but you’ll see more of the purple visible light with 395.

Which wavelength do you think would be better for detecting mold?
Never tried using it for that, but I would expect 365nm would work better.
@@UVBlackLights thanks for the information. I’m not sure if u know this, but what is the difference between something that fluoresces under a uv light, and something that absorbs the energy and continues to fluoresce after the light has been removed?
@evan that would be phosphorescence. Example glow in the dark paint or stars haven’t phosphors in them, which absorbs the light. Hope that helps!
I need a blacklight flashlight to find Tomato Hornworms on my plants...Which way should I go, 365 or 395? Also, do you have a suggestion for a flashlight?
Harley Horton for something like that you shouldn’t need that much power. Both 365 and 395nm will work for this. Those hornworms glow like scorpions. If you want something in the $20-30 range watch my Convoy S2+ video.
395 is better, because when you go to the forest you need to see also the background so you may not fall into accident.
Cloud VII in that case, yes I would go for more of the visible light.
Some of your amazon links to products are dead.

Hello, what you suggest for screen printing Led light?
@@ghassanemoutaoukil4733 LED or fluorescent will work no problem.
Not sure if you're familiar with disc golf, but they are frisbee like and made out of plastic. There are glow discs that can be "charged" with a UV light and hold a glow for a few minutes. You just throw the discs on the ground and hold a UV flashlight over it. My question: would a 365nm flashlight be better at charging the discs for a stronger/longer glow? Or would there not be much of a difference?
Yes, the 365nm will keep a longer charge. I'm familiar with disc golf in the daytime, but Do alot of people play disc golf at night time?
@@UVBlackLights I wouldn't say "a lot" but disc golf in general has been growing! Especially with losing daylight in the fall, there's a lot more glow discing going on. Do a "glow disc golf" search on RUclips if you're curious.
It's a good time and a different way of playing. Can't see the hundreds of trees you can hit when its dark out. There are some glow leagues around me in Michigan. Most people attach a glowstick or hang a LED light of some sort from the top of the basket so you at can at least see a target. There's glow discs that you can "charge" but throwing glow tape on normal discs can work too. Appreciate your quick response! The uvBeast 365 is sold out so I'll be on the lookout for a restock.

Thanks for the informative vid. What about 385 mm? I'm setting up a "tripcave" and want the best psychedelic experience
I put 385-400nm pretty much in the same category. You’ll still get some purple visible light in the 385nm range. If you want that purple feel then that’ll work. If you want to minimize most visible light, go with 365nm.
@@UVBlackLights Thanks! So it sounds like both lights will give the same glow to white material (please correct me if thats not the case), but the 365 will have better contrast because theres less of the "purple glow"?
Yes that’s correct, in some cases the purple might affect certain colors, but it’s hard to notice if you don’t put them side by side. The 365nm will give better contrast and not light up the whole room, only the reactive material.

But if its actualy 365nm then it wouldnt have any visible light period.. leds have ranges which tend to spread over a 10 to 30nm array per led and its driver. If you push an led it will always produce more towards the higher wavelength or generally more white.. leds used for laser applications are driven at a specific set point and can only get so much range out of one with dispersion and refraction degrading the beam when focused in a fiber optic per say. They will still transmit but with less of a received rate with more lost because of this reason. Is why lasers are used in data transmission because they are able to be built with a much smaller if not exact wavelength and the power can be pushed as far as your heat dissipation measures can manage. Main difference is laser diodes are made with certain minerals which they pass through to achieve certain wavelengths or colors.. which does not change as with led's which are cathode anode with some gas or phosphorus lining they radiate through. If that makes any sense... but you get enough lower powered leds and youll get closer to the desired fluorescence youre wanting without the inrush of the visible light, use les leds with more power and will get more visible wash every time. Use a 365nm laser diode the youll always get that wavelength you just have to use lenses to disperse the light which dont refract or bend the waves thereby altering the wavelength output. Fuckin lazers maaan...
Yo quiero ver la placa bacterial cual me sirve?

@@UVBlackLights Hi I just got the UV flashlight with a higher nm / higher wavelength, 365nm and 395nm it doesn't penetrate metal, I guess the LED ligh that comes with UV glue pens are good enough. It's nice looking though, it's nice for wider area and safer to use (has a hood and it can be focused).
Assuming this is true 365nm and true 395nm, I wish it could see all the security features in money though (it just sees some security hairs).
I wonder if you could bunch up fiber optics (leftovers when the Fiber optic company installed the fiber internet) and shine that directly between the slits of two metal, it might cure the UV glue even if it's metal/opaque?
@SevenDeMagnus unfortunately, that is way out of my league, so I’m not sure about the fiber optics. It sounds pretty interesting what you’re doing. Mind sharing with me? DM me on IG? Thank you!
I just need ablack light flashlight for finding scorpions in the
The Arizona desert desert
Please check out my UV Beast flashlight videos, those will work great with that.
What about 380
380nm you’ll still get some purple visible light.

I don't what kind of bulb is gutted but I don't see the dog peeing through the bulb why
You should try a UV flashlight instead.

@@MrSuperJetski Nice, I'm actually editing a video on that flashlight. I love it!
Live Comp (olympus) I just purchased an ultra HD display for 250 bucks that allows me to paint the scene (WHILE) I see it on my 15-in portable display. Seems like it's needed for this infrared and UV spectrum stuff
