  • sorry for the bad edit.....the cam was FULLY LUBED during installation (you can see it all over Kev's hands @ 5:10 in the clip, as were the lifters. the camera position change halfway through has confused alot of watchers spawning all kinds of assumptions and insults thrown our way.
there was nothing done wrong during this install and the 460 has been running awesome ever since with many towing miles.

So, as we all know. Gotta have the right cam to match the performance of the torque converter, and vice versa. So I had to do some transmission work a while back, internal leak. Roasted my converter clutch. I was going to get a factory converter replacement but the day I went to get it the guy didn't have it. I ended up getting a discounted price on a precision 2467 hd-rv triple clutch ultra low stall converter. Yes, I tow a lot, so it serves purpose. But I'll admit, the converter lockup is extremely fast and loses close to 500 rpm instantly in 3rd gear and doesn't have any clutch slippage when in OD, just locks fast. When towing I've always kept my rpm around 2-2.5k rpm, as that's where my power band is with the new converter and lightning lockup. With the factory one I would usually let it shift around 2k rpm when pulling a load as I would have slower lockup in 3rd and slippage in OD until 60 mph where it fully engages. Basically there's a lot less slippage due to the lightning fast and strong grab of the triple disk converter. I'd like to make more low end torque so it isn't much of an issue. My current setup is everything factory apart from the aftermarket converter. 1994 f250 460, e4od, 4.10 final drive gears. Only intake modification is I cut the intake velocity stacks, which helped with hill climbing. Any advice on how I can achieve more low end torque would be much appreciated, thank you 😁
