Connor: Hey guys, this is Connor here at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the equa-flex cushioned equalizers for our 2005 KZ New Vision Fifth Wheel Trailer. Now we have a couple different reasons you might be interested in installing the equa-flex equalizers on your trailer. Number one, if we are looking to upgrade because of the perceived increased ride quality that we have with these cushions, or number two, if we're just replacing our old cast equalizers because the bushings are worn out inside, this is going to be a great upgrade, overall. Our easy flex equalizers here are going to be an excellent option for our new vision trailer, as well as any other fifth wheel trailer, really. As you can see here, we have these two actuating arms on the side here. We also have a rubber core.
Now essentially, what this is going to do, this rubber core here, it's going to work to absorb road shock, so we have a smoother ride traveling down the road. Now this is going to do a couple of different things. Number one, it's going to reduce the wear and tear on our existing suspension components. In other words, we won't be replacing its tires as often as well. Now, this is also going to work to help stabilize the contents we have inside the cab.
Now, as we're driving down the road, if something's not secured in our trailer, it's going to be bouncing around like crazy. It could fall over, even possibly break. With these cushioned equalizers, that's going to help minimize those effects, so we can keep all the contents in our trailer safe and secure, as well as have a smoother ride.As we can see here, just a little bit of comparison, this is going to be the cast equalizer we took off the trailer. Just to give you a little bit representation, we see our equa-flex equalizer here has a nice yellow powder-coated finish, as well as the rubber cushioning we talked about, whereas the cash equalizer that came off the trailer, there's no cushioning involved, so the ride is going to be a lot rougher. Now our equa-flex equalizers doesn't come with any of the extra parts we might need for installation.
If we wanted to, we could reuse the existing shackle straps and eye bolts, but we also sell these new at etrailer.com. And since we're down here replacing everything, I do recommend go ahead and upgrading those as well. We also have wet bolts that can be replaced and the eye bolts here, which is going to make maintenance a lot easier, because they're going to be convenient inaudible 00:02:07 fitting on the end of our bolt here.So just to show you how well these equa-flex equalizers perform, we went ahead and took our trailer out on our test course here at etrailer, with our stock equalizers on. We then compared that ride quality to what it was when we installed equa-flex equalizers. And I can personally say, there was definitely a noticeable difference.
The trailer was a lot more bouncy, we could definitely feel it was back there with our stock equalizers. And as you can see in the video, our equa-flex equalizers provided a lot more smooth and stable ride for our trailer. Now, in regards to installation, it's definitely going to be something you can do yourself. There's not going to be a lot of special tools required, but we will need some Jackson jack stands, as well as some common hand tools. But again, nothing real special, and we can definitely do this at home by ourselves. Now that we've gone over some of the benefits and features, let's show you how to install these yourself. Now to start our installation today, the first thing we're going to do is get our trailer up in the air, so our wheels are off the ground here. Now, in order to do this, we do need to let us buy the frame, and both the front and rear of the trailer. Once we have that done, we can go ahead and take our impact here and zip off our lug nuts so we can remove our wheels and tires. Now keep in mind, if you don't have a strong enough electric impact, we would want to go ahead and take a breaker bar and loosen all the lug nuts a couple of threads before we raise the trailer in the air.Take our lug nuts, make sure we set these aside so we don't lose them. Now we can go ahead, wiggle our tire off, and roll this out of our way. We can take our other tire off
