That’s pretty cool JD . What would’ve been really cool is to have done a comparison with the stock suspension . Plan on doing this to our new travel trailer . Our fifth wheel already has it .
missed opportunity there JD, u could have driven over a YETI/Stanley tumbler ... 2 birds one stone 😂
Nice representation of what your suspension does in actual tow mode..😊
It's interesting to watch how the front and rear are able to work in concert but also independently at the same time.
Dann, JD, that is the best video I have seen of upgraded equalizer s in action. I showed it to my wife, and now she understands why I did the upgrade. Great work, as always!
Great demo! Your tractor sounds like a tie-fighter from Star Wars. 😂
Awesome video! That was pretty cool. Hopefully that smoothed out the ride you gave it
Just ordered them for my 2011 funfinder to update my old Dexter ride. Thanks
What a novel was to showq the suspension operation after install. Thanks. Driving on your roads in your area (smooth) would not have shown much. Northern Ohio much better for working components hard. 😂 Love the video. Much appreciated sir.
Good demo JD.
interesting! to bad you didn't get a before video. and bonus points for shooting inside as a "passenger"
I installed the Lippert air ride suspension to my fifth wheel trailer. Yes a lot heavier addition and considerably more cost. But we went from items opening cabinet doors and falling on the floor while traveling to being able to leave things on the counter tops and they are in the same place at the end of the trip. Also added the air ride pin box and it was a huge upgrade to the ride of the truck, night and day.
Based upon your review, I ordered a set for our trailer.
Vary good demonstration. 😊
Niiiiice video JD!!! Way better than going down the highway!!!
I just wanna know if the coffee pot stayed in its spot😂😂😂
That was a pretty cool test. To bad you didn't get ant before shoots of the old suspension working.
That's some pretty cool footage! It's too bad we don't have baseline footage from before the upgrade.
NIce demonstration. I have an exact set on order as the other MORyde and LCI systems simply don’t fit. Im curioius to know if you are still as excited about this product as you were when first installed? CAUTION - One important point for anyone looking at purchasing a similar upgrade that also incorporates vertical travel (such as MORyde CRE3000)…. Make sure you have enough clearance between top of tire and bottom of wheel well/floor of trailer. All the bolt holes may match but the clearance on your trailer may not allow for safe installation. Check with MORyde to get their fitment guide as it lists 9 measurement points and spacing requirements that none of these so called trailer suspension part resellers so called experts mention - they almost sold me a Moryde system that would have destroyed my trailer and cause blow out at highway speeds due to 2 fitment issues that were not due to size of equalizer nor bolt hole pattern.
Looks like there is a slight slop in the bushings. Maybe not, but it looked like there was.
Should have done a before and after video of the suspension working. I was considering upgrading, but I really don't see much movement that the standard equalizer would not do.
I would have given you my equa-flex or the Cree 3000 but I left them at Morryde when I got the IS and disk brakes. Will never go back.
Dumb question coming. Why didn't you put the grease bolts on the other way, to make it easier to get to the grease point. Great video as always thanks
Very creative video on showing how this equipment actually works. I hope you were able to flatten all of the runs and hills 😂. They say that inside of an RV is like a tornado or hurricane inside going down the road. Not being an RV owner myself, do you have to pack all of your plates (if you aren’t using plastic) in boxes during transport and store them in the cabinets when you get to your destination, or do you just always keep them in the cabinets. Will they break (say if you use pottery type of plates) if they just stay in the cabinets? Perhaps a video could be done on how the cargo inside the RV reacts with different types of shackle straps and dampers for a smoother ride as well as indicating what type of campwear would be best? Good luck with gophers.
How often do you grease the fittings? Any other maintenance? Great demonstration!
Hey JD . I have a suspension question for you . I’m wondering in your opinion what would be a better upgrade ? the slipper system or the airbag system ? For my 5th wheel tandem 8k axles running around 18k . Great videos by the way . I’ve gotten lots of useful info from you .
Hey JD, I don't know if you know of or have access to a device you could mount in the RV that monitors movement. Something like an accelerometer that can record vibrations and movements in all 3 axes. It would be neat to see a graph of before and after installs of this type of suspension. I know its a huge to do, but I think it would be neat content.
The amount of side to side movement is crazy.
Mount a camera inline with the center shackle so you can see the shackle and the tires then tow it around again.
Are you going to have the “V” braces for the shackle hangers welded in?
You should have done a pre-equiflex video for comparison
Just curious if you notice a difference when towing. Does it changes the way the trailer feels behind you?
I noticed that you put the bolts with the nuts facing out instead of the head of the bolts where they grease at, was there a reason why you did it this way???
Do you think these systems put more (or maybe less) stress on the leaf springs? Or maybe no effect at all? It seems the failures I see are the hangers coming off and the ends of the leaf springs near where they connect to the hangers.
It would have been cool to see the original system in operation so as to compare.
Hi there. I have a 2023 Forest River Ibex 23RLDS. I’m having difficulty finding a suspension equalizer that will work for my TT. The Ibex has a -31” wheelbase and 24” leaf springs. I’m wondering how that compares to your TT? I’m working with etrailer on this. Definitely don’t want to solve one problem and create another.
Additionally, if the shackles and the equalizer pivot as was apparent, does the equalizer’s suspension actually engage?
🥇
JD do you have a coupon code for etrailer? I need to place a large order. Thanks Tom
Can you show us inside during the ride, pls
Can that be installed on a Puma camper?
You wanna know what would be cool? Show an accelerometer graph before & after from inside the trailer right above the axles
So I have a question, the equalizer on my travel trailer is very long about 12-16in wide. The trailers 2 axel are spaced further apart than a normal trailer. Are there equalizers that would fit on a trailer like this. Crossorads Reserve 32sb
Yes they make them for the 14 inch equalizers. Did ours a year ago and well worth it. We used a morryde product.
Doing wet bolts on my camper this year. Can you share an Amazon link for the rod you used to remove the nylon bushings?
Sure! amzn.to/494Gj1j
If you live in Texas, and have a spot of land full of gophers, I’m betting you have a Ruger 10/22.
Or maybe a long-barrel revolver with a scope.
JD, ran the numbers for the CRE 3000 on my Passport GT 2870RL and is seems like I am below the minimum tire to frame distance of 3" at about 2 1/2" Do you know the minumun tire to frame distance for the Lippert setup?
Not sure exactly but these actually increased the height slightly.
Would you still add Sumo shocks to that RV or are you confident that this will do everything you need for the suspension?
I will likely add sumo springs as well.
I’ve seen more broken springs based on these systems than can be imagined. The front wheel hits a hole and takes a shock then the rear wheel hits same hole and transfer part of the load back onto the front spring.
I'm sure there have been far more based on standard non suspension Equalizers though
@@BigTruckBigRV actually no, because they don’t transfer the weight back to the front.
Cameras inside showing what it looks like. Too bad not a before and after.
kindly i want to visit your factory
Motorhome suspensions I know we’ll, travel trailers and fifth wheels no, so that said I like how it operates but seems thin in thickness, appearances can be deceiving tho.
Jd I noticed a very concerning thing and I’m wondering if one else sees it like I did let me explain what I’m referring to is what is called torque flex around the equalizer and springs almost like the unit and shackle components are not tight and torqued to spec and I know with everything that you do that’s not the case it’s almost like it’s missing the spacer washers that come in most kits
I'm sorry, I'm not sure I see what you're referring to. Is there a time in the video that you can reference. I'm very familiar with torsion flex but don't see it personally
Jd thanks for the reply what I noticed is pretty much from the time you pulled it off the driveway and started across the lawn and started to run across the ruts and I didn’t mention that the camera was also picking up a lot of clank and banging like you would have if something was seriously not tight and if focus on the shackles you can pick up especially on the spring side a lot of abnormal spring movements and when that’s going on that’s when you hear the banging noise in essence of all moving part don’t work right it’s like when you ordered the part’s for the trailer the sent the wrong shackle kit I know that can happen because I know when I did money trailer was so new that I had to provide measurements before the could advise me on parts to order for my set up and I’m suprised that e trailer did not do that knowing that this trailer is a new model for 2024 strange at least that they did not I hope this helps thanks jd
What tires do you have on that camper?
Goodyear Endurance
Do you put lock tight on the nuts or do they stay put?
They are self locking. They are pinched
I am also very fond of this kind of work. I can also send you the pictures۔۔۔

Lahore Pakistan.
Next time pull the break a away cord to simulate a panic stop. I've had shackles flip from the axle wrap.
