You get a letter in the mail saying if you passed or failed. All it gives you is a percentage of what you got on each of the two part test. It does not tell you what answers you get right or wrong.
I didn't know anybody in the union and I got in. All you really need is some experience in whatever trade your getting into. They don't hire just any old person off the street so yeah. You don't have to know anyone to get in.
fat forman and contractors want more trained employees to they can abuse and fire any one any time at will. this is part time work - project based . you need hours plus a good rate of pay ..

Am I wrong or is the acceptance rate very low , like 50 percent or lower?

Sounds like you not only had trouble passing the aptitude test.
But reading it as well.......
You must not know what the union is primarily about bud.
You join a union to be protected so nobody can fire you at will any time. Think first. Think.
