Handles better in a fire as well
I prefer cast. Where i moved, the above ground drainage is all done in XFR plastic pipe, sucks breathing in glue/primer all the time, plus it's way less forgiving to install/tweak your work.

Technology such as CAD and BIM is very useful in the plumbing field. It definitely helps to eliminate coordination issues. I agree it helps eliminate the need for carrying around those heavy drawings. It looks like their able to get this work in without much conflict.

Purple primer is not required in all states. I know there's at least a few states that allow clear primer. Massachusetts being one. Most states do require purple because inspectors want an easy visual that every joint was primed. And god forbid an inspector has to do a little bit of extra work.

that plumber sure could have used a pvc chop saw. and a bench instead of a sawzall and his knee.
Nobody works slow anymore. Everything is done fast fast fast, unfortunately.
Walking back and forth to the chop saw setup wastes time. Getting a chop saw set up wastes time. Cutting with a sawzall right there is the most efficient way and the cuts are just as clean as long as you have somebody with half a brain using the sawzall. It's not about slow or fast, it's about efficiency. Especially on a big commercial job like this where you have strict deadlines to get things done. It's not like residential work where you have all the time in the world.

I chop saw all my pipes-if you need to trim it a 1/4 inch than you chop it, not saw it,,and is that cleaner your using, cleaner is just that, it cleans the pipe (if it’s dirty) and then the primer is applied.

And they're using a clear primer (most likely) because just using a cleaner is not enough to make a good bond before gluing. You need to prime before gluing and if you're priming, using a cleaner becomes pretty redundant as the primer will clean the pipe as well and the cleaner is pretty unnecessary. Using clear primer is against code in most states but not all. I'm assuming they're in a state where using clear primer is not against code.

I would love to take an opportunity to even talk to one person? That had something to do with high building construction because I am going to be the new pending patent holder of a self-rescue system which I already have for pending patents on as far as the mechanical device the name of the system is the z runner self rescue system which is an opportunity for people that choose in case of a high story building fire or an accidental plane hitting the building? I am the one will build the anchor points and allow my system to come into play in every floor with the perfect window of escape to be able to have the accessible materials for somebody to live to see another day during the worst case scenario in high story buildings.

It's called 'capping a joint' and is added assurance the joint won't ever leak especially for traps. It's common practice really and you don't know that? lol. Yes, please stay in Illinois.
All jobs use C.A.D and the real contractors more than half the piping is prefabed . First thing I see that don't look good is the clear glue . Not the best for PVC piping best one on the market medium gray glue and wet and dry application Christie's true blue by the way wheres the pvc chop saw on a bench and what's the plumbers scale ? If they aint getting at least $38 hour plus benefits then they are getting robbed. Especially if they are not union. I'm from Arizona and the going plumbers pay rate or scale is $38.65 hour at journeyman level .
A high rise shouldn't be plastic pipe at all.
Who needs a chop saw when you have a sawzall? You can be much more efficient with a sawzall being able to cut right there, walking back and forth to a chop saw setup to make a simple cut wastes too much time. And the cuts are just as good as long as the person cutting with the sawzall has half a brain and can cut straight.

And no, a cleaner is not even remotely the same thing as a primer. Besides, thinking a major plumbing company is only using cleaner before gluing is asinine. A cleaner is not a primer and cannot be used as a replacement to primer. You need to prime PVC pipe before gluing, there is no replacement, the primer is needed to create a proper bond, it will leak otherwise. It's obvious most people commenting here aren't plumbers at all because they don't know this which is ironic because it's always these guys that are the most critical and are always looking to correct everybody else. You people are completely clueless and it shows.
