How to fix a communication error on your AC! || FULL TIME RV LIVING

- We woke up to the sounds of our AC cycling Friday night at 1 AM. We normally run the bedroom AC with the fan set to medium, so that it maintains a constant rate and noise - great for keeping out the neighbor's noise. Also helps keep your AC from icing up in the summer when it's working hard. Anyways, it wasn't running like it was supposed to - cycling on and off every couple seconds.
So, we played around with the thermostat, reset it and reset the breakers, getting an intermittent E1 error on the various AC units. The end result was that we got no AC the rest of the night, and had to fix it on a Saturday - perfect timing, of course.
So, Saturday, we got a new thermostat, just in case that was our problem, and continued to troubleshoot. The problem ended up being a cheap fix - really, just labor and a few dollars in supplies you might already have.

Thanks for showing how the repair is done. I had the same issue. Fortunately I was staying at a place with a shop and it was fixed in a couple of hours under warranty. They told me the issue and now, thanks to ya'll, I know what they did and how to fix it if it happens again.
Would have been nice to have someone else sweating on the roof, but it was good to get it done ourselves. Hope you don't have to deal with it again.
Great video! I’ll definitely remember this! Thank you for your time and effort!

I wish you would have shown the actual cleaning.
It's just using a soft bristle brush and electronic component cleaner for the communications cables. Spray the socket/plug, brush it off a bit, then spray again.
Sometimes, in the heat of the moment, some things get missed!
Thanks for video…having similar problem, fixing to dive in !
Hope it's an easy fix!
