I'm in my first playthrough of vanilla Nocturne (No Chronicles because the first time i started the game the option New Game Chronicles didn't show up lol) and this is exactly why my team right now consists on every demon with as many elements as possible, mana refill, 1 buff/debuff and anything that could be useful lol.
Yep. I always know when to move on from an area when I’ve leveled up enough to take out every encounter in one turn of autobattle. Do that and you’ll be good as gold in literally every Atlus RPG. 😂
Debilitate on turn one, then smack everyone with a Elec Boosted Maziodyne (works well in the final story dungeon where those annoying ass Repel Phys Rangadas will spawn like roaches, as they are weak to electric). Demi-fiend then absolutely trashes the entire enemy party with a Gaea Rage that does damn near 1000HP damage after a single Debilitate and no buffs; or if they have Repel Phys I just smack the specific demon with a Freikugel and use Bishamon (Hassohappa) or Trumpeter (Megidolaon) to finish them off. Guaranteed one-round kill, enemy doesn't get a chance to do shit. Plus I always grind close to the healing fountain lady so burning through my MP means little when I can cheaply heal it all.

It's so fun yet so miserable watching everyone in your party die between each attack. It's fun because you can't believe it, you think you won't die. It's miserable because you knoe what's comming.
When I first played the game on normal I couldn't really understand why people keep saying that it was so hard when I only died against Matador because I just wasn't prepared. But then I tried the Hard mode and, holly shit, the amount of times I died on just stupid random battles is hugue (Really, who the fuck thought that not being able to flee in a randomized battle system was balanced?)

@@manuelmateo3392 You will eventually. And by end game you should be able to throw around loads of skills every fight. Or at least that's how it's on Hard Mode.
And that is why you don't skimp on AGI stats. Pretty sure the Matador fight should have taught us how valuable evasion can be. (Kept Fog Breath on my MC the whole game for a reason).
The fact that I saw fog breath on jack o lantern here and they didn't use it made me want to cry. I'm blind to nocturne for the most part but I'm in first kalpa now and lord I'm scared for the future lol
@@The_PolterGhost agi does do a lot like keep you from being back atk or having first turn but ye its not rly an all insanely important stat since sukuja and fog breath are still way more significant in dodging/hitting
@@Akita23 I can tell, since nobody uses buffs or debuffs in regular battles. It's a complete waste. "Fog Breath" is not the magical problem solver you think it is, it's use is revealed only during bosses, and many bosses can be comfortably beaten without it.

Also, while the sentiment is somewhat correct, having a weakness to either Death or Expel often confers plenty of bonuses in stats and other positive properties. It's up to the player if they want to roll around with the risk of getting instakilled as a a result.

I've recently been getting into Atlus games starting with Persona 5 and recently Soul Hackers 2 watching this has me scared of playing Nocturne which I also bought recently 😂
1 - dont use normal attacks when you are fighting against many enemies, specially a Oni like monster, you are in danger, throw everything you have or you may die in the next round 2 - dont use status effect skills, they WILL fail, and even it it works it wont kill enemies, and enemies alive means you dead 3 - you'll probably should replace Lunge
@@jonm5894 trafuri is your friend. reg encounters are mostly ass and dont give you much i run from them till my high pixie runs out of mana. if i need to level i just get attract bells from rags shop and choose easy farm locations like underpass of ginza cause maragi is all you need to one turn encounters and there is a save point and shop there. or if you get mamudo there are multiple areas in the game that only have angel encounters.
@@wellfarekoon This game can be beaten without grinding, literally if you run from as few encounters and fill in as much of the map as possible, only bosses will provide any significant danger. Running from battles that end in three rounds max is crazy, and what in the world does this even do for the dungeons that you can't even comfortably leave in this game. Grinding in general is boring, grinding near the Underpass of all places sounds mind-numbing.
you re playing it wrong, I always have at least 3 elemental magic on all my demons in my current active party, and I did this on ps2, it should be ridiculously easy to pull of in the hd remaster version thanks to manual skill inheritance

You have Fog Breath on Jack Lantern and instead of use it you pass turn to Taraka, and then die from physical attacks. So actually yes, its outskilled.
As soon as you missed the first time, you should have recognized the potential to die or at least lose a demon and gone for Fog Breath. Also probably would have passed instead of going for an ailment and used Mabufu + Berserk with Demi-Fiend to hopefully take out at least one enemy.
First rule of SMT: If you can't end a random encounter in one turn, take it seriously.

NEVER have a build with a light or dark weakness in ANY SMT game. The games are already hard enough without BS instakills coming out of nowhere.
