Wow--at least 16-17 different guitar riffs? I played the original and the Steam Remaster (featuring Dante from the Devil May Cry series), and I don't think I've ever recalled hearing all of these variations. The things you learn~
@@MrGuypi this is from the game disc. it then loops back to the ost version which has its own riff. everthing else is as it sounds in-game. people complain all the time about the in-game tracks but they sound pretty great overall. the only tracks I think sound noticeably compressed are the overworld and kotowari battles. almost all the new tracks from the maniax re-release sound HD. the opening and credits music are literally the same as the OST and some tracks even sound better in-game such as the overworld map theme. this is because the game uses a custom sound engine that synthesizes many of the instruments, and it led to meguro having to re-record many of the tracks for the OST release. the melody in the overworld map theme therefore gets played on a piano instead of the synth bell instrument you hear in-game

From what i've experienced, it's randomly decided in each battle. Maybe someone can clarify it properly somewhere
