in sc, beating Vanduul swarm also unlocks the Glaive on the pledge store, its just how cig does it. with the Glaive, you can only use that token on alien week and IAE.

I actually have been considering hopping back into elite, its been a while. But man if they did something tangible to try and improve the game it would be a no brainer to get back into it.
Improve? How would you suggest they improve a space simulation?
I care about when Frontier is going to make all the improvements they've been needing to make to ED. I don't care about Thargoids this, that, or the other, do your damn diligence, Frontier, and fix the game!
@Bruhhh-rf3zs things like balancing the weapons, making engineering not so much of a slog and more balanced as engineering can make your ship OPAF at it stands.
Bring down the cost of items in the shop as I'm not willing to drop $20 for an amount of Arx that wouldn't get me even close to what I want for my ship.
Make Advanced Docking Computers, Planetary Approach Suites, and Super Cruise Assist Computers integral instead of as optional modula that take up space. Besides, realistically speaking, such items wouldn't be removable equipment unless you plan on repairing/replacing it.
Let me walk around my ship since I'm having to spend so much time in it and let me decorate it. Let me choose the interior colors and maybe furniture. Is there a cot that folds out from the wall? Or do I get a luxurious full apartment?
Give me actual story in the game, all I do is collect materials for engineering, mining, pirate hunting, hauling, etc. There has to be more.
Give me more planets that aren't desolate wastelands. Being able to land on a heavily populated planet would be great.

The lightning event has been super fun. I have zero intention of buying the ship with $$ since we will be able to eventually buy it in game at a later date but there have been some epic fights over them. BTW the F8 is a Med/heavy fighter that atm looses to a Scorpius with a gunner as long as the pilots are of equal..ish skill.
The videos of the orgs utilising the A2s to "cleanse" areas before moving in on foot are awesome! There's a French video of a group trying to get into a bunker with a Platinum Ticket and the A2 was making passes dropping nukes. It was during dusk with a haze and the explosions dropping so close to the players looked AWESOME. The massive dust storm that kicked up after each explosion was so immersive.
I like the idea of this mission where you find an item, and then once you find it as soon as you pick it up they light you up like a Christmas tree and everyone is after you and a race is on, more missions like that.
Handing in a golden ticket also gives you a forum badge, so even if you have no interest in the ship there's a reason to look for a ticket.
If a little digital badge means anything to you you need to get a life

i think the SC event was cool, yes it favors streamers, but it favors being in an org even more. LR has at least 3 plats so far, but they are some of the best pilot5s in the entire game, so it makes sense that they are actively trying to find them. I think the little guys wouldnt have a chance tbh, cause the serious pilots are working so hard to get them. i think its really a matter of how dedicated you are to getting one. i think people who are very dedicated to the game are likely also in an org, and if you're active with the games community, you probably have someone on your friends list that is likely to be in that server.
people who are dedicated to the game deserve to have a *chance* at a platinum.
the F8C is such a fun ship, btw. ive been loving it.
As expected from FDev, another "thargoid" plot there will go nowhere and will take like three years to end with nothing. Even with that "drama" going on with SC, it still way better than ED currently. FDev just showed us that they have not had enough with the pointless grind, im not into that anymore.

Nah, no drama tbh, just some people crying. A couple hundgred out of 4.3 million backers making some noise. Bound to happen. The bigger news is that CIG has now expanded a whole area for PYRO! And Pyro will be playable for CC attendees. Big things coming! o7

I think people are taking the ticket event way too serious. I took it as a way to have fun, but unfortunately it seems like most folks forget this is actually just a game.
I think a lot of people are enjoying the event but there's a vocal minority who just want to complain.

Corrections for you:
Alien ships are very much in SC. They were actually some of the first ships in game including the scythe, even more so if you include the replicas of Xian, Banu, and Tevarin race ships.
Space exploration includes multiple types of space clouds at the LG points, the 3 new jump point clouds which are the best looking 3D nebulae in gaming, tons of derelict vessel missions, asteroid belts, and stations. All for you to explore in space. In fact, since you seem not to follow the game, space exploration was in star citizen before planets and that was in fact the only type of exploration for a very long time :)
And yet still does more than elite which we're still waiting to even get a single ship interior 😂

Yeah the problem is that it's the hero ship from SQ42, so in that sense you want it to be OP. But when you put it in a multiplayer game that's not good so yes there will be a nerf. CIG is probably observing exactly how OP it is so they know what to nerf.
@@fnunez it is not. Dont lie and dont spread missinformation. The F8C is not appearing in SQ42. You are confusing it with the F8A which is totally different. The F8C is not at all broken, its a good heavy fighter and thats it. Broken are ships like the T8A or the F7A, or indeed the F8A, but not the C variants.
No it's not. It requires a lot more skill to use than people think. Only ace pilots like A1 can make it seem overpowered. But for the averageplayer they will still get owned by those in a Fladius, Arrow or even a Hawk. All three of those LFs have better weapon grouping fire, meaning better hits on target during passes.

A regulator -- more specifically a district attorney -- was roped in to "investigate" CIG years ago when people like you were saying the same thing back then, and after they "investigated" (basically given a tour of CIG's offices and financials, as well as shown a working demo version of the game) they realised that people like you were wasting state officials' time and they have ignored EVERY single request since then to launch another investigation. Basically, if you keep crying wolf people will eventually stop listening to you.
what exactly are they going to regulate? in fact paying for the ship and having it in game is actually better than concept sales. And to CIG's credit, you don't have to buy fake currency *ARX cough cough* to mask the amount you're spending ;)

For the "play to pay to win" people, there is no 'win' at the end, ive seen people getting their ass kicked in the f8 by an arrow a few times and a sentinel another time. You cant buy skill.

Pay to play to pay. Completely inappropriate addictive content that will fleece more people for more money, but this time targeted to the most addicted. Good grief.

How do you not know the Lightning? It's possibly the most iconic ship of the game and it's a heavy fighter, not a light fighter.
I like the play2pay, it makes loot feel more substantial if it's something you actually do want to buy. As long as it's not a bait and switch where they say you won something and then ask you to pay to get your reward, it's perfectly fine and even fun.
Pay2play adds more "meaning" to both the loot you play for as well as the purchases you make by combining intentional earning with intentional buying, not just earning it for free, can't do that with all things, but also not just boring purchase where people turn off their brains too easily if it's just a click away.

You can't just spend real world money on the fancy new ship, you have to play the game first to have the opportunity to pay to win

You get the ship free for 24 hours. So if you get the ticket and play around with the ship you can see if you like it or not. If not, then don't buy it. If you do, then you have an opportunity to buy it. If you want to get one for free then you can hunt the platinum ticket and not spend a dime. It's an event that gives you options in how you play and whether you want to support development by buying the ship or not.
OR you can do what the smart money does: not pay and buy/rent with in-game credits on the next patch :)
And again we milk the sc players for money.. if ea or epic did something like this they would be shamed out of the internet..
EA did worse with Battlefront 2 where you had to gamble with real money to unlock upgrades.
EA sells fifa player chances, not even the player you want. So EA has already gone beyond anything as simple as paying for something and into the casino royale territory....and they were NOT shamed out of the internet so...literally nobody cares about another ship for sale.
No one is making you buy anything in SC. That's the player's choice.

What do you mean wanting more money? You dont have to give them anything. Infact with the tickets you get the ship free for a day lol. Also if you find the platinum one you get it for free for lifetime.
Actually without money the game will never be finished, see Star Atlas for the opposite end of the spectrum where they ran out of money and now the game will never get any of its coolest features.
