They need to quit having the big head and sign a veteran receiver before they are all gone. We cant 3peat with these receivers. Still love them but come on man

Good signing replaces Bell and is younger with more upside and potential. I think the Chiefs need to be smart with FA WRs, it is too easy to overpay any one of the available WRs, and there are a lot of rookie WRs that could be worth more in the long run. I like Samuel more than Mooney, so I am glad to see him going to Atlanta.

I like Gay and I wish him well, but it is a numbers game and Tranquill earned the spot. Leo’s stock exploded in the playoffs he was the highest graded LB by PFF. Look for the Chiefs to draft another LB probably in the 3rd or 4th rd. Jaylen Ford from Texas intrigues me and could be available in that area.

Personally, I am glad you can analyze the moves the Chiefs are making within the context that is appropriate to the player. Getting caught up in the hysteria (near panic by some) about a WR signing is not necessary, so thank you for not taking the bait. Seriously, Veach comes through every year but our own fans can't give the guy time to work. I believe a little patience is called for.
Not to mention, teams haven't really been pouncing on receivers that much. Gabe Davis and Darnell Mooney seem to be getting overpaid, so I'd much rather we do our due diligence and not do the same as the Jaguars and Falcons.
@@kchandaman3012 Agreed. Knowing that we have a smart leadership team, it's not surprising that we make smart decisions, but I am a bit surprised at how our moves end up being much better, and more cost effective, than other teams. A key reason we have had the 6-year run that is not over.
I basically just come into the same thing. If you've been a fan of Kansas City for any length of time you would know that signing big-name people is not what we do. I mean it's been 30 years since we made a Big Splash in free agency, Joe Montana and Marcus allen.❤
Kansas City will put together a solid roster like they do every year, even though all the experts won't agree on it, it usually works out just fine.

Ravens held us to SEVENTEEN, and even others like the Raiders, Bills, Bengals.. ALL keep holding our sublime QB to a minimum bc we haven't surrounded him with weapons since 2019...
We won in spite of our receiving corp, not because of it. Are you ready to role the dice and hope it all works out somehow? Again? Not me. There's no rule that says you can't be dominant on both sides of the ball.

Allegretti and Townsend both earned their money. I wish like hell we could have kept Allegretti, but I knew somebody would see his value and take him after that performance. I'm also very sad to see Willie go - him and Bolton were a hell of a duo.. excited to have Tranquill back, but I'd have been happy keeping either one, and upset letting the other go.
TE Irv Smith Jr. is a third-stringer. Over four years, the average yardage is less than 250 per year. Last year, there were just 115 total with a 44-point grade, compared to Kelce's 86. Jr.'s greatest year in yardage was 365 yards, which occurred before a significant ankle injury.

I'm super excited that Bush came back. Underrated player. Smith Jr is a great signing. C.Jones signing was a bit more expensive than I liked, but resigning D. Tranquil at a cheap deal k8nd of offsets it a bit. I think we trade L.Sneed and get 2 top 2 round wr in the draft. The wr in this draft are too deep to be spending big on a fa wr. In Veach we trust. The man has proven himself time and again.
My brother made a great observation about Veach. May he studied the Patriots dynasty. They struggled after they refused to pay Richard Seymour. Just something to think about with the CJ signing.
Can’t wait to see how the team shapes up this season for sure best of luck to all former players from the team. Nothing but the best for them unless they have to play us.

Chris Jones might be the pillar of our defense, but it takes more than one pillar to support a building.. I don't like the signing, but I won't question Andy Reid or Brett Veach. Yes, I have the same concerns about the WR room that I did ALL last off season and all throughout the regular season - literally up to the day we won the Superbowl 😅

I really like what the Chiefs are doing atm. Do they need more power in the wr room, probably. but i love that they managed to resign cris jones so much, that i really do understand why every other step needs to be more save than getting a top wr atm. hope they can draft one or get at least more deep with a mid range (prize and production) wr free agent. lets got for 3rd in a row!

I like the move to sign Erv Smith Jr and inspite of his plethora of injuries, agree that he has still outplayed tight ends who have been on the team. I especially like that he's 25 and that Kelse will no doubt help him with more effective route running and possibly tips for staying on the field more. Hope so! DIDN'T expecially like the Chief's first round pick last night, realizing that they're still trying to replace Tyrek Hill, but Veach said he made a misstep that he regretted in not signing DK Metcalf and then passes on Legget, SO that was a total head scratcher for me, along with trading up to get Worthy, they need their picks and they're giving them away for someone could have dropped to the second round. SO, I hope Worthy works out better than John Ross did.
I think Irv will replace Blake Bell or Fortson, but I think they will push to keep Fortson here because they like him and he knows the system but at a discount due to low production from injuries. I'd love foe the Chiefs to make a splash in FA but we never really do. We make lowkey awesome ones. I don't think any team will trade their weapons to us. I think we go to the draft for WR.
If they don't sign a wr in free agency they will have to to draft 2 in this draft. I would like to see one drafted in the first and third.

It's interesting seeing nearly all the other teams make huge additions/but also paying (and quite possibly over-paying) for undeniable talent but at the same time talent they didn't really need / didn't actually address a weakness. Nick Wright's FTF takes last few days brings up a lot of good points. It seems that teams that already are good offensively, and need significant defensive help, are still signing top tear offensive free agents (Philly, Baltimore, most notably). I'm very concerned with Texans' acquisitions as, on paper, they are making a real push to knock Cincinnati out of that at least public opinion of being most dangerous vs Chiefs. Meanwhile Chiefs are quietly doing what they do, primarily adding to the D & Special Teams and not yet moving the needle with offensive acquisitions. I will say for what Mixon & Eckeler were signed for, I would've loved to have seen either on KC; Mixon was top 5 RB last year and still significantly under utitlized. That's kind of been his career: frequently top 10 but under utilized and under appreciated in Cincy. Both he & Eckler for 6 mil would've been steals, even at their relative ages and the wear & tear. But, we gotta trust in Veach. Probably that should be a shirt. Think about it.

Every time a big free agent signing is announced I wish my team got that guy. Of course they are already over the cap and can't afford too many big name free agents, easy to forget that part.

As I said in the shorts version, I knew the Chiefs were looking for a Tight End. But I honestly thought the Chiefs would see about getting someone from the draft or attempt to trade for one. I'm seeing some ups and downs for this TE, the scales more towards the bad than the good. I do hope he plays well.

Fans at some point we have to trust Veach and Andy! I was critical of Veach after his first draft, but since then all hes done is excel. Hes killed the draft and free agency. Chris Jones contract was biggger than I expected, but he deserver and what I've learned to donis trust the great Veach! Best GM in the league.

We are looking at puzzle pieces as they trickle through an hour glass. He's making moves with an eye towards this year's draft, *next* year's draft, free agency, and 31 other teams' rosters with an eye towards cap/bubble casualties.
I'm expecting a high-round WR this year -- possibly even holding Sneed as trade bait to make an aggressive move up the board. Surely a pass-catching TE within the next two drafts. Then depth/development at OL and DB in the latter rounds.
Veach hasn't made a single move that made my heart sink yet this offseason.
Cincy's interest in Smith last year gives him a bona fides with me; he was projected, then, to be trusted in the system of Joe Burrow. He looks like a vet. A Veach 'trust' is good enough for me.

I don't think it's controversial to say we need to draft a WR and sign a veteran, but with the deep draft class, WRs are not moving off the FA board very fast. The best move is to wait to sign the FA after the draft when the market is nice and cold, and we can save a few million on a guy with good hands and decent ability to get open.
After he signed Chris Jones to a 5 year deal, the default for the rest of the off-season is "In Veach We Trust"!
Gray is a special TE and should be used more to help longevity for kelce..... hope smith is good too
Chiefs were right in letting Tommy sign elsewhere. 3M for a punter is just a bit too much and frankly he earned every penny he gets. But I've seen tape of Araiza punt the ball and dude has a straight up cannon. Even if he can't hold kicks well, we can always find someone that can. Nothing says it has to be the punter.

I mean don't give me wrong. It's definitely a need, so if we can get a clearly great receiver that would be amazing. But we don't need a good receiver room to win a super bowl and we proved that this year. So if we have other opportunities I think we should take them.
