The game I learned Mahomes is clutch. Of course he was good his first year starting, but leading his team on this game winning drive so effortlessly? He proved he wasn’t just a flashy player, he was a real field general! Then he went on to win the Super Bowl that year.
First of all, he's a FI/LO player (First In/Last Out), he's a gym rat that WANTS to be coached hard, he is always lifting up other players, and helping them reach their full potential, but pushing them, and they love him for it. That, along with his God given athletic talents, and his ability to extend plays (beyond anybody in the NFL since Fran Tarkenton), make him a candidate for the best qb of all time, BUT, what separates him is his competitive drive. I compare Mahomes to Kyler Murray (A LI/FO guy), and his complete lack of wanting to watch film and just rely upon his athletic ability (which fades rapidly after a few injuries over the years), and I am just glad that KC has Patrick Mahomes. In my opinion, he is the best QB of all time.
Like a good red wine, PM is getting better. He actually plays his best in the clutch. Unless the 9"ers have another gear, I am going KC for sure this SB. As a lifelong Bills fan, I am not thrilled to write this, but I gotta give him credit. PM+TK+TS (Ha! Take that 45!) = another SB win.
Lifelong Pats fan so I'm kinda in support for the other most hated team. If it wasn't coach Reed leading them, I would be so interested how many rings this squad would get.
Watching this in 2023, it shows just how much PM15 has grown as a QB and improved since this game. Which is unreal, because he was super good even then.
Bosa got inside of Mahomes's head, early in that game. He got to him on the first series, I think, and Mahomes had to re-adjust his game clock for Bosa. He over-corrected at first, and he looked like he had happy feet. Very discouraging first half. This is both players' 2nd rodeo against each other in the Big Dance. It's pretty epic.
Leaving Patrick Mahomes, the dynamic quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs, with ample time on the clock is a risky proposition for any opposing team in the NFL. Mahomes is renowned for his ability to orchestrate dramatic comebacks and execute game-winning drives with remarkable efficiency and poise. When facing Mahomes, teams must carefully manage the game clock and defensive strategy to minimize his opportunities to work his magic.

The chiefs have been either the best team in the league or a top three team in the league for six years. I honestly agree with this. And in retrospect of the recent Lions game, I think that it was this exact team element that didn’t show up on game day, resulting in a loss-especially on the offense. It had less to do with the Lions and more to do with the Chiefs shooting themselves in the foot. Same thing with Jacksonville game. But I certainly don’t think it is a reflection of the Chiefs overall. It was after all, 1 point. They will have a very good season. Not a perfect one, but a good one.
