In an attempt to witness RECENTLY to an unbeliever the gospel message, the person I talked with had this to say: "I've heard through the teachings of certain Preachers that God has already selected all who will be saved and the rest will end up in hell with various degrees of punishments." He went on to say, 'i have no interest in the Gospel so unfortunately I must be among the ones left out'. We should be promoting the gospel as did the the jailer who asked "What must I do to be saved?" Paul said "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved and thy house."

If you believe in Calvinism he had no say in the matter of him being chosen and in reality he didn’t not make the choice to reject God because God has shown a respect of persons and therefore made that person reject Him. I would say that person heard the truth and of his own free will rejecting Gods desire for his life, he has rejected Gods blessings, rejected being chosen, rejected being predestined, rejected being adopted and accepted. Calvinism makes God the author of evil.

The Gospel promotes itself through the power of the Holy Spirit. We preach, witness and teach and spread the Gospel because we are commanded to do so. This command from Christ himself is called the Great Commission. Mat 28: 18-20.

Where in the Bible does it say that Jesus is not talking about ALL people? I would think that if your explanation was true, Jesus would have said, "And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to unto me that the Holy Spirit has previously drawn." When you look up the passages dealing with God’s elections or choices, you find they are to service and privilege, not to eternal life. In sum, Biblical election is vocational: God chooses people, places, and things to serve Him in a task or mission.@@sarahgracebrooks2629

Jesus was speaking. Think about that.
There was no gospel unto salvation yet. Jesus hadn't been crucified, dead and buried which means He hadn't risen yet and ascended.
      The Helper hadn't come.
Jesus hints at this in 12:32.
The price hadn't been paid at this point in time.
And why do calvinists like to start reading in the middle of a paragraph from the middle of a chapter from the middle of a book from the middle of the Bible and then claim they know the whole story?
Can you pluck a few sentences from a 1000 page novel and give an indepth book report with full understanding?
Do you start in the middle of a magazine article and read 1 paragraph then jump to the end?
Why do people insist on reading scripture this way?
No wonder there are so many false doctrines.
Water baptism saves, works salvation, calvinism, the prosperity gospel, word of faith movement, etc all can be "biblically proven" as long as the advocate separates the proof texts from the surrounding context.

God does not do any injustice for God is Just and Holy. He does not predestine anyone to go to hell, all of us by default are going to hell if He will exercise His Justice. For all have sinned and fall short in His glory. He says to Moses ““I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion”. Others will receive justice and God chose some to receive mercy. If God knew Who will have to submit unto Him and place His Almightiness over that then He is not Almighty at all - He will not be Sovereign God but He will be under the sovereignty of man if thats the case. As it is written:
“for though the twins were not yet born and had not done anything good or bad, so that God’s purpose according to His choice would stand, not because of works but because of Him who calls, it was said to her, “The older will serve the younger.” Just as it is written, “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.” What shall we say then? There is no injustice with God, is there? May it never be! For He says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” So then it does not depend on the man who wills or the man who runs, but on God who has mercy.”

Good chain of verses to support your belief. Unfortunately there are even more verses and whole chapters/books that supports election. The question is really one of understanding what’s read. Christ blood is certainly sufficient to redeem ALL men or The whole World as is said in scripture…but the question is why do some reject it and hate those who preach Christ? What does Christ mean when he told the Pharisees “You are of your father the devil? You would believe me if you were Abraham’s seed? What is the parable of the wheat and the tares all about? What does it mean to be born not of the Will of man, nor of flesh but of God? When Christ told His disciples ….didn’t I choose you and yet one of you is a Devil…what did he mean?
Why are we offended by a Sovereign God who chooses? He choose all of his disciples ..including Paul…why can’t he choose you? Are we a special race of humans with a Will that’s above the Will of God? Can God fail to save? Can His word return to Him void and NOT accomplish the thing to which it was sent??
…these are just some of the question when one ponders honestly through the scriptures (without bias) that one realizes that we have all already made our “choice “ and that we have “chosen” death with our “free Will” ….but God in His Grace and mercy ….saved us in spite of us so that no man will be able to boast. For all The Power and Glory belongs to Him Forever and Ever….ALL

@@badmantyme God said in plain words he gave his son for the whole world and earlier in John, Jesus is described as the propitiation of sin for the entire world. God said to preach the gospel to the entire world and sent the Holy Spirit into the entire world to convict all men of their sin. Jesus as well said he would draw all men to him - it is up to man to repent and to accept the free gift of salvation for which the Blood of Christ is sufficient to save the entire universe in all times previous or coming. All have a choice in the offer of salvation but many will not make that choice - to assert that God made that choice for them is to assert that God is the author of their damnation. I would also say that when Paul described the good works God had laid out from us from the beginning that overemphasizing God's sovereignty and dividing the body would not have been one of them.

Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. In its broadest sense salvation includes regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification. There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord.
    A. Regeneration, or the new birth, is a work of God’s grace whereby believers become new creatures in Christ Jesus. It is a change of heart wrought by the Holy Spirit through conviction of sin, to which the sinner responds in repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Repentance and faith are inseparable experiences of grace.
Repentance is a genuine turning from sin toward God. Faith is the acceptance of Jesus Christ and commitment of the entire personality to Him as Lord and Saviour.
    B. Justification is God’s gracious and full acquittal upon principles of His righteousness of all sinners who repent and believe in Christ. Justification brings the believer unto a relationship of peace and favor with God.
    C. Sanctification is the experience, beginning in regeneration, by which the believer is set apart to God’s purposes, and is enabled to progress toward moral and spiritual maturity through the presence and power of the Holy Spirit dwelling in him. Growth in grace should continue throughout the regenerate person’s life.
    D. Glorification is the culmination of salvation and is the final blessed and abiding state of the redeemed.
    Genesis 3:15; Exodus 3:14-17; 6:2-8; Matthew 1:21; 4:17; 16:21-26; 27:22-28:6; Luke 1:68-69; 2:28-32; John 1:11-14,29; 3:3-21,36; 5:24; 10:9,28-29; 15:1-16; 17:17; Acts 2:21; 4:12; 15:11; 16:30-31; 17:30-31; 20:32; Romans 1:16-18; 2:4; 3:23-25; 4:3ff.; 5:8-10; 6:1-23; 8:1-18,29-39; 10:9-10,13; 13:11-14; 1 Corinthians 1:18,30; 6:19-20; 15:10; 2 Corinthians 5:17-20; Galatians 2:20; 3:13; 5:22-25; 6:15; Ephesians 1:7; 2:8-22; 4:11-16; Philippians 2:12-13; Colossians 1:9-22; 3:1ff.; 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24; 2 Timothy 1:12; Titus 2:11-14; Hebrews 2:1-3; 5:8-9; 9:24-28; 11:1-12:8,14; James 2:14-26; 1 Peter 1:2-23; 1 John 1:6-2:11; Revelation 3:20; 21:1-22:5.

We did a study on what Jesus said.
We combed the scriptures to see if we could find any reference in the OT.
Well about 98% were direct quotes from the prophets and many were from the psalms.
So you see the old ways aren't done away with.
Rather the new were added to the old.
Whenever you make up any contract that is legally binding you cannot make any changes too it.
So then the new covenant was drawn up and added to the old.
The old one was no longer valid only because you can't add to it.
So you see when all the apostles kept up with the Torah of Moses they understood that the promises and His law was not finished, it had the new covenant added to it.
It wasn't suddenly okay to murder, steal lie, engage in homosexual behavior, etc.
That's why they continued with it even after the ascension of Jesus!
And they taught what Moses wrote, as it came direct from God.
We all should know that God doesn't change at all from the beginning of time to the end.
He didn't say well you did good Son, but everything I told Moses is no longer valid.
Oh and by the way Son I've decided I don't like my law, it's too harsh, so what is said in the OT is gone and I'll start over and let these new believers get away with what I would NOT let Israel get away with!
In short what God calls sin in the OT is the same as what is called sin later on in the bible!

Let me ask: if we (believers and trusters of the Gospel) were "in Christ" before Adam, then wouldn't that mean that we were removed from Christ, then placed into Adam, and then removed from Adam and placed back into Christ? That is NOT what this passage is saying at all.
Romans 8-11 is also a major misapplied passage by Calvinists. Calvinism is an easy sell to two types of people: someone who genuinely is humble and focuses on the truth that salvation is only from God, but doesn't understand how to rightly divide the word of truth, or the prideful man who relishes in the idea that he was chosen by God and has no issue with the vast majority of others who equally deserve hell as much as themselves, not being provided the opportunity to repent and believe.
Theistic determinism is not of God. Please pray about this awful doctrine steeped in gnostic philosophy. God bless with much love.

The Calvinistic view. Satan wants all Ppl in hell. God only wants most ppl in hell.
What a sad way to view God like that. God gave us prefect free will because God desires worship.
If I cannot choose to do wrong then I cannot choose to do right. The greatest commandment is to love God so there has to be a choice

Because theologians (and the majority thereof) do not support neo-calvinism, does not make you right and us wrong. You and the murdering John Calvin (Yes, he is documented as having a murdering heart) seem to try to paint us non-calvinists (we follow Jesus, not Calvin) with a broad brush. In so doing, you have limited God. In His supreme sovereignty, is it not within God's power to insure that some are saved no matter what and that others who also believe are saved because they believed in their heart and confessed with their mouth that Jesus is the Christ? If this is NOT true, then JESUS Himself is made by you to be a liar and God cannot lie!
The two are not mutually exclusive except in the small-mindedness of man. If God is choosing who is saved, then the necessity of the Cross is undermined because He did it through His sovereignty and there is not option to recognize and then choose Christ's Goodhood on the Cross. Most would say, doesn’t that undermine our free will to choose and believe in Christ? The Bible says that we have the choice-all who believe in Jesus Christ will be saved (John 3:16; Romans 10:9-10). The Bible never - NOT ONCE - describes God rejecting anyone who believes in Him or turning away anyone who is seeking Him (Deuteronomy 4:29). Somehow, in the mystery of God, predestination works hand-in-hand with a person being drawn by God (John 6:44) and believing unto salvation (Romans 1:16). God predestines who will be saved, and we must choose Christ in order to be saved. Both facts are equally true. Romans 11:33 proclaims, “Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out!”

We don't interpret the Bible through the eyes of secular history of Calvin or any others. We have the Bible and it is to be interpreted to us by The Holy Spirit of God. All of your historical committees and people of renowned are not needed by The Holy Spirit. He is quite capable of handling His job.

Some Scriptures about hell by Jesus himself and how not to go there:
In Luke 16:19-31 Jesus describes a rich man that lived lavishly and a poor beggar man named Lazarus. It came to pass that Lazarus died and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom. The rich man died, was buried, then went to hell. 23 And in hell he lifted up his eyes, being in TORMENT, saw Abraham afar off and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue, for I am tormented IN THIS FLAME. 25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that you in your lifetime received good things, and likewise Lazarus received evil things, but now he is comforted and you are tormented. 26 And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that they which would pass from hence to you can not, neither can they pass to us, and would come from thence. 27 Then he said, I pray you therefore father, that you would send him to my father’s house. 28 For I have 5 brothers that he may testify unto them, lest also come into this place of torment. 29 Abraham said unto him, They have Moses and the prophets, let them hear them. 30 And he said, Nay father Abraham, but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. 31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.”
LOCATION OF HELL: Jesus said in Matthew 12:40, ”For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly, so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the HEART OF THE EARTH.” Paul said in Ephesians 4:9, ”Now that he ascended, was it but that he also DESCENDED into the LOWER PARTS OF THE EARTH.”
HELL IS A PLACE OF FIRE: Jesus said in Luke 16:24,”….Father Abraham have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue for I am TORMENTED IN THIS FLAME.”
Jesus said in Matthew 13:42,”And shall cast them into a FURNACE OF FIRE, there shall be WAILING AND GNASHING OF TEETH.” Jesus said in Matthew 25:41,”Then shall he also say to them on the left hand, Depart from me, you cursed, INTO EVERLASTING FIRE, prepared for the devil and his angels.”
Jesus said in Revelation 20:15,”And whosoever was not found written in the book of life, was CAST INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE.”
HELL IS A PLACE OF TORMENT: Jesus said in Luke 16:23,”And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in TORMENT….” 24 …..for I am TORMENTED in this flame.” Jesus said in Revelation 14:11,”And the smoke of their TORMENT ascended up FOR EVER AND EVER, and they have no rest day or night….” Jesus said in Mark 9:45-46,”And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off, it is better for you to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the FIRE THAT NEVER SHALL BE QUENCHED. 46 Where their WORM DIES NOT, and the fire is not quenched.” Note that it doesn’t say “THE Worm”, it says “THEIR WORM” dies not. Jesus said in Revelation 21:8,”But the fearful and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whore mongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burns WITH FIRE AND BRIMSTONE, which is the second death.” Note that Brimstone is Sulfur and burns with a very strong odor of rotten eggs.
The scriptures above prove when a person goes to hell they will constantly see hell, constantly smell hell, constantly feel the heat of hell, will constantly breath hell, will constantly hear the wailing and gnashing of teeth of others in hell, will constantly be aware of their own worms, they will have no rest day or night, there is no way out and it will continue for ever and ever, they can’t die because they are already dead.
The following is how to not go there and it is a SIMPLE AND EASY thing to do:
All of the book of Acts is what Jesus disciples said what we must to be SAVED - meaning not go to hell, which is repentance, water baptism in Jesus NAME, (Not the titles Father, Son, and Holy Ghost) and being baptized with the Holy Ghost. Jesus said in Mark 16:16,"He that believes and is BAPTIZED shall be SAVED, but he that believes not shall be damned."
At about that same time He said in Matthew 28:19,"Go therefore and teach all nations BAPTIZING them in the name (SINGULAR name and not name's) OF the Father, and OF the Son, and OF the Holy Ghost." Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are titles and not names. Jesus disciples never used those words when they baptized anyone in water, nor did they use those words in one sentence regarding any other topic. Every time they said Jesus NAME at baptism which is Acts 2:38, Acts 8:14-18, Acts 8:38, Acts 9:18, Acts 10:44-48, Acts 16:15, Acts 16:33, Acts 18:7, Acts 18:8, Acts 19:3-5, and Acts 22:16.
Jesus said in John 3:3-7,"Verily, verily I say unto you, Except a man BE BORN AGAIN, he can not see the kingdom of God. 5 Verily, verily I say unto, Except a man be born of water AND of the Spirit, he can not enter into the kingdom of heaven. 7 Marvel not that I say unto you, YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN." Being born of water is being baptized in water which is for the REMISSION OF SINS - meaning the INITIAL remission of sins and not the confessing of sins later addressed in 1 John 1:9. Being born of the Spirit is being baptized with the Holy Ghost. What being baptized with the Holy Ghost means is addressed in Acts 2:3-4, (Pentecost), Acts 8:17, Acts 9:18, Acts 10:44-48, and Acts 19:3-5 - which is when the Spirit of Christ initially dwells in a person. Nowhere in Scripture does it say it happens any other way than that way. There is not one Scripture that says a person receives the Holy Ghost just because they are a believer.
Paul said in Romans 8:9-11,”But you are not in the flesh, but in the spirit, if so be that the spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, HE IS NONE OF HIS."
Numbers 23:19, ”God is not a man that he should lie, neither the son of man, that he should repent, has he said and shall he not do it? And shall he not make it good?”
Malachi 3:6,”For I am the Lord, I change not...”
Hebrews 13:8,”Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” That means there is no reason to think that Jesus will make an exception and save someone that has not been baptized in water in Jesus NAME, and has not been baptized with the Holy Ghost.
If you are convinced you need to get baptized in water in Jesus Name do a search and type in "United Pentecostal Church International", scroll down to just below the red box, type in your zip code, a screen will show a Church near you that will do that.
Jesus said John 10:27, ”My Sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”

Absolutely, One God who is three persons. 1 John 5:5-12 5 Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? 6 This is he who came by water and blood-Jesus Christ; not by the water only but by the water and the blood. And the Spirit is the one who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. 7 For there are three that testify: 8 the Spirit and the water and the blood; and these three agree. 9 If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater, for this is the testimony of God that he has borne concerning his Son. 10 Whoever believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. Whoever does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has borne concerning his Son. 11 And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life."

When the Reformation took place, and the shackles of Rome were thrown off, the true church went back to a correct understanding to biblical truth….the historical, grammatical, literal approach to interpretation. The doctrines of sovereign grace emerged and the bible was translated into the languages of the people. The dark ages were fading away…..for a while.
Then along came Jacobus Arminius. A theological professor at Leiden University, he questioned the teaching of Calvin and his followers on a number of important points. After Arminius’s death, his own followers presented their views on five of these points in the Remonstrance of 1610. In this document and in later more explicit writings, the Arminians taught election based on foreseen faith, the universal application of Christ’s atonement available to all who freely choose to accept it, limited human depravity, the resistibility of God’s grace, and the possibility of a fall from salvation.
The Synod of Dort was held to settle the controversy in the churches initiated by the rise of Arminianism. The Synod rejected these views and set forth the Reformed teaching on these points with the purpose of offering a deeper assurance of salvation to believers in accordance with the teaching of the Scriptures. Arminius’ adherents were directed by the commissioners of the Synod to abstain from ministerial activities such as preaching, exhorting, administering the sacraments, and visiting the sick. The “Remonstrants”, as they were known, agreed to refrain from ministering in the government-ordained churches, but confessed their duty to expound their doctrines wherever people would assemble to hear them.
Arminianism is a rebellion against the Reformation, and a return to Rome. But that’s not so unusual in these waning days of human history. The Lord told us it would be this way.
